EBC
EBC brake pads and rotors for Harley-Davidson and Indian bikes.
About EBC
EBC is a mainstream choice for brake pads, and this page lists its range for Harley-Davidson and Indian riders. It includes several pad compounds, rotors and a small number of carburetor jets.
Pad compounds
Standard pads are organic and suit everyday riding. V-Series semi-sintered pads such as FA837V and FA640V give a bite between organic and fully sintered. Double-H sintered pads, including FA424HH and FA457HH, offer stronger stopping with more heat resistance, and Extreme Pro sintered pads such as EPFA457HH add even more bite. Models covered include Touring, Softail, Dyna, Sportster, and Indian Roadmaster and Scout.
Rotors and jets
Street Brake Rotors like MD520, MD529 and MD530 fit Harley Touring and V-twin applications. EBC also lists VM28/486 pilot jets in four-packs for V-twin carburetors, in many sizes.
Choosing
Match the pad code to your caliper and ABS status. Sintered pads work well with matched rotors and in hot or heavy-load riding. Organic pads are quieter and gentler on rotors. Bed in new pads using the maker's instructions, which usually means a series of moderate stops that build heat gradually. Replace pads in axle sets, check rotor thickness against the minimum stamped on the rotor, and clean the caliper pistons and slide pins at each change. For lines and calipers, see Goodridge and the brakes guide.
