About Hardware/Fasteners/Fittings
The right fastener keeps a custom build tidy and a repair reliable. This page lists the hardware that holds a V-twin together, from chrome cap bolts and seat screws to bushings and billet kits.
What is listed
Harddrive stocks seat screws and knobs, banjo bolt kits with sealing washers in 10-packs, starter shaft bushings and compensators. GardnerWestcott lists chrome hex cap riser bolts in fine thread, DK Custom Products sells billet tank lift kits in black powder coat, and Energy Susp. makes firm riser bushings for Softail and Dyna. Colony Machine covers pushrod cover kits for Big Twin and Evolution, and Santoro Fabworx has color-matched bolt kits for Milwaukee-Eight. A few National Cycle and Motion Pro pieces round out the list.
Fitment advice
Thread size and length are the key details: 1/4-20 seat screws and 1/2-20 fine riser bolts are not interchangeable. Banjo bolts and sealing washers must match the line and caliper. Use new sealing washers every time a hydraulic fitting is opened. For engine covers and cases, check the model year and engine, since bolt patterns changed with the Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight.
Use thread-locker where the maker recommends it, and torque to spec. Browse clamps and mounts and brackets for related items.
