Motion Pro

Motion Pro is well known to V-twin owners for cables that are cut to fit specific models and for a deep line of specialty shop tools. Both are available here, which makes this brand page an easy starting place for a tune-up or a rebuild.

Cables and lines

The bulk of the range is control cables: throttle, idle, clutch and speedometer cables in black vinyl and Armor Coat finishes, sized for Sportster, Softail, Dyna, Touring, Road King, V-Rod and Indian Chief, Chieftain and Roadmaster. Lightweight clutch cables and extended-length versions suit taller bars. Fuel line and vent line in vinyl and Tygon grey come in common sizes such as 3/16 and 5/16 inch, including 25 foot rolls for carbureted V-twins.

Tools and clamps

The tools range includes chain breakers and riveting tools, spoke wrenches in sizes like 6mm and 6.3mm, driver rods for bearing removal and a side case cover puller for Big Twin and Sportster. Motion Pro also lists hose clamps and a few carburetor and clutch parts.

Getting a cable that fits

Cable length and routing depend on the bar height and model year, so read the length in the title and the model line. Replace cables in sets when the old ones feel stiff, and check for kinks after the bars are turned lock to lock.
