About Suspension & Forks

This page is the broad suspension catalog: tag-based, so it pulls in shocks, fork tubes, springs and cartridges across Harley-Davidson and Indian. It is the place to compare brands, while the shorter Suspension page works well if you ride a bagger.

What is in stock

Shocks and struts are the largest group, from Progressive 412 series and 465 Series R.A.P. shocks to FOX monotube rear shocks for Sportsters. Front-end parts include Ohlins fork cartridge kits, FOX 49mm cartridge kits with a plus 2 inch option, Progressive and Race Tech fork springs, and Harddrive hard chrome fork tubes in lengths such as 22-1/2, 26-1/2 and 27-1/4 inches. A Burly Brand lowering kit is available for Softails, and Harddrive lists a shorter kickstand for lowered Dynas.

Choosing parts

Match shock length, mounting style and spring rate to your frame, rider weight and passenger load. Fork tubes are measured by length and diameter, so verify against what is on the bike. Lowering or raising the bike changes the kickstand, brake lines and cornering clearance, so check those too.

Cartridge kits and springs improve control with a stock fork, and they work well with fresh oil and seals from the gaskets and seals page.

Suspension & Forks FAQ

What brands of shocks are listed?
Progressive, FOX, Ohlins, Burly Brand and Harddrive are among the makers. Check the model and spring-rate details in each listing.
Are fork cartridge kits a direct fit?
Cartridge kits are model specific, usually listed by fork tube diameter and year range. Use the fitment line before ordering.
Does lowering my bike need other parts?
Often a shorter kickstand and, depending on how far you go, different brake lines or controls. Check each listing.
Is the Indian range covered?
Yes. Some listings are tagged for Indian models, so use the year and model filter to see them.
What is the difference between this page and the main Suspension page?
This page is tag-based and wider, while the Suspension page is limited to the Suspension product type and is aimed at baggers.
