Frequently Asked Questions

Can I adjust the shock without special tools?

Yes — rebound, compression, and preload all adjust via hand-accessible knobs and threaded eyelet. No tools required for mid-ride tuning.

What ride height change is available?

The adjustable eyelet provides 0.4 inches of height range to dial in sag and ground clearance.

Will this fit my Dyna Super Glide?

This shock is engineered for Dyna 990 models. Verify your specific year and model before ordering, as Dyna evolution may require different shocks.

How do I set preload for my weight?

Hand-thread the spring perch until you achieve 25–30% sag when seated on the bike. Progressive's website offers a preload guide by rider weight.

Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
