About RAM
RAM Mounts is a modular system, which means you build a mount from a base, an arm and a holder. This page lists RAM bases, clamp arms, complete kits and device holders for Harley-Davidson and Indian handlebars and rails.
Parts of a RAM mount
Bases mount to a rail, bar, reservoir cap or a drilled hole. Listings include a 1 inch ball base for rails from 3/8 to 5/8 inch and from 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 inch, a base with an 11mm hole, a rail clamp arm for 3/4 to 1 inch rails and complete kits. Holders include spine clips for Garmin handheld devices and phone cradles. U-bolt kits secure the arm to a bar.
Choosing a RAM setup
Start with the mounting position and measure the bar or rail. Then choose the ball size, arm length and holder. Short arms are more stable at speed. Use a holder meant for vibration, and consider a vibration dampener for phones. Keep cables clear of the steering. Check that nothing blocks the fork or fairing, and tighten every ball joint firmly so the holder does not drift. Mounted electronics get hot in direct sun and can be damaged by rain, so remove or cover them when you park. Use a separate fused power source for anything you plan to charge on the move.
RAM works alongside Sp Connect phone cases and chargers, and you can find more accessories on the accessories page, plus brackets on mounts and brackets.
