About Clutch
A clutch that slips or drags will ruin a ride, and this page covers parts to rebuild it or upgrade it. It lists friction packs, plates, baskets, springs, cables and auto clutch systems for Harley-Davidson and Indian models.
Clutch parts by type
Rekluse Racing lists the RadiusX auto clutch, a hydraulic RadiusX for CVO Big Twin, the APEX clutch kit with basket for Milwaukee-Eight and the TorqDrive clutch for Indian Scout XG 500 and 750. ALTO provides K2 Kevlar friction packs for Sportster years from 1971 and Evolution models, while Energy One and APM offer performance kits, including APM Comp Master diaphragm spring kits. Burly Brand lists the Easyboy Lite kit for Big Twin 1987 to 1999. Harddrive stocks transmission side covers and derby covers, and Motion Pro lists Armor Coat clutch cables for Indian Chief, Chieftain and Roadmaster.
Selecting a kit
Match your model, year, primary type and whether the clutch is cable or hydraulic. Auto clutches change lever feel and require the right kit for your transmission. Replace friction plates and steel plates together, check for warped plates, and use primary fluid to the maker's spec. Soaking new friction plates in primary oil before assembly is common practice.
