About Fat Bob Suspension

The Fat Bob list is short, and most of it is rear shocks and lowering kits written for the Milwaukee-Eight Softail. FOX offers IFP and IFP-QSR rebound-adjustable shocks, Harddrive supplies HLR remote reservoir shocks in 12.5 and 13 inches (a few are named for the Softail Fat Bob directly), and Burly Brand adds a 12.2 inch Slammer shock along with drop fork kits of 1 to 2 inches.

What else is in the list

Arnott has Ultimate Ride air suspension shocks. Harddrive provides shock extensions and a fork boot. All Balls contributes fork seal kits and a swingarm bearing kit, and Race Tech and Colony Machine add a spring set and a stem cap. The list has no fork cartridge kits.

Tags run from 2009 to 2023 because the Fat Bob nameplate has appeared on both the Dyna and Softail chassis, and the older tags pull in multi-fit items. Product names that mention Milwaukee-Eight Softail, or the Softail Fat Bob, point to the current bike. The Burly Lowboy kit is listed for Softail and Touring 2018-2023.

Pricing starts low, with a Colony Machine stem cap near $11 and All Balls fork seal kits under $20. It steps up through the Burly Slammer shock at about $528 and the FOX shocks at about $900 to the Arnott air shocks near $1,430, so there is a rear-shock option at most budgets.

Fat Bob Suspension FAQ

Do Dyna Fat Bob parts appear in this collection?
Some multi-fit titles mention Dyna, and a Burly preload adjuster here is for Dyna and Sportster. If your bike is a 2018 or newer Softail, rely on the titles that name Milwaukee-Eight Softail.
What size are the Harddrive HLR shocks?
They are listed at 12.5 and 13 inches, and some are written for the Softail Fat Bob. Choose the length named for your bike.
Is a drop kit and a shock extension the same thing?
No. The Burly kits lower the fork by 1 to 2 inches, while the Harddrive shock extensions are 10mm and 20mm pieces for the rear shock.
Which air suspension option is in the list?
Arnott Ultimate Ride air shocks in black, written for the Milwaukee-Eight Softail. It sits at the upper end of the price range for this page.
