Works perfectly for what it’s designed for. I’m new to working on motorcycles and was pretty hesitant to doing this job. I saw a video on YouTube, and within a hour, I swapped my old one out and the new in. Boom bam bing! No more sketchy start ups

Good product, Installation was wimple once I had the starter out. Keep in mind the little ball bearing is already there. I haven't notice because of the grease and double stacked them. Had to do the job twice.<br />Overall I am happy with it as it doesn't allow any kick back anymore.

Used to replace stock on 2011 HD FXDWG because of hard starting issues when motor is hot. Works great amd no more hard starting.

Easy fix for a known weak point...
Entire process including removing the starter from my 2009 Dyna took about 45 minutes. No more clunk at startup. Problem fixed.<br />FYI...All-Balls ships the clutch with the steel ball already installed!

Fixed my horrendous, starter noise!
Unit appeared a little bit different than the factory unit. However, it fit perfectly. I only complaint is that the O-rings provided with it did not fit my motorcycle. After calling all balls, I was told that the part was correct for my motorcycle and that someone must've put the wrong O-rings in the box. A trip to town, no O-rings. I had to reuse the old ones which have not been an issue. My bike has started great since the install, and it was making very nasty noises before. FYI. I did disassemble the old starter clutch and could find absolutely nothing that indicated a problem however, the noise it made was horrendous.

Fixed the problem
The starter clutch has been slowly failing for a while on my FXDB. When I installed a LiFePO4 battery it really sounded bad. This fixed all my hard starts and kick-back that I've been getting. Really easy install on a '13 Dyna.
Easy swap, started right up
Was an easy swap and she.stsrted right up 1st kick.
Rode for 16 years with a starter clutch problem.
Works well. I have an 07 Road King and 07 E-Glide kept at different locations. Both have always been hard to start during trips. When the bike was hot, I had to let it cool down after getting gas, or just keep trying to start. Since they both did the same thing and always started I ignored it. One day riding with a friend that has a Harley shop he told me it was my starter clutch. Now I wonder how I go two bikes with the same condition. This was a good and easy replacement. I initially put my old ball into the new starter clutch but noticed the spacing looked shallower so removed it and checked the box. There was a notice saying to install only one ball but, it could have clearly stated that the ball was already installed. I do not know if it would be advisable to also replace the spring but, it would seem like and easy part to include with the assembly?. All in all a great product at a good price.
Engages correctly, which is what i needed. Tip included with starter clutch should say that extra solenoid ball is included. Mine was held in place with grease , so it didn't occur to me one was already in place. All balls brand supposed to be high quality and seems to work well.

I was questioning whether the compensator was causing the hot startup clanging/banging when I saw an article where the starter clutch was the culprit... That article was CORRECT. Starter clutch replaced..No more issues.

The starter clutch fixed the issue, part looks better than oem with way bigger gear it works great so far. Shipping was off by a couple of days but that's ok can't control severe weather! Very happy with part and quick service will definitely be using J@P again!!
The part I order was just fine, But had I taken the starter out first I would have seen what the problem was the starter gear on the hub had broken teeth. That’s why the starter was not engaging the clutch .I need a Barnett clutch hub.Can you help me get one?

Installed ALL BALLS Racing Starter Clutch on my 07 Deuce due to stock one grinding or free spinning during starting. Could see the quality differences, sealed bearings and wider gear. Unfortunately bad old one had broken many teeth off of clutch drum but after replacing both parts so far so good, no more problems. As alway great service from J&.P.

Perfect fit for my 2007 FLTR Road Glide. Comes with ball bearing pre-installed which is a plus...those things can find a place to hide if you drop yours!! Cured my intermittent noisy starts.

Love this new part. Works great. Only compliant would be to add a note saying the ball bearing is in the new assembly. And not add the stock bearing.
