Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my Panhead, Shovelhead, or Evo?
Yes — this Cometic gasket fits all three platforms: Panhead, Shovelhead, and Evolution big-twin engines.
What's the purpose of this oil pump gasket?
It seals the oil pump housing to the engine case, preventing oil leaks at that junction during operation.
Do I need to replace the seal if I'm doing routine maintenance?
If your engine is apart for rebuild or major service, Cometic recommends replacing gaskets and seals rather than reusing old ones to ensure a fresh seal.
Is this a complete oil pump gasket set, or just one seal?
This is the oil pump gasket/seal component. Check your engine rebuild manual or kit listing to see if additional seals are needed for your application.

Working fine was for my brother's bike
Works Fine at a lower cost
I usually have an OEM from Harley Davidson, I have used this twice on my 04 Electraglide, no leaks or issues. At a much lower price.
A mediocre gasket
I didn’t use this gasket after removing the derby and seeing the Harley gasket that I removed. No comparison in quality. I ended up going to the local dealer and bought an O.E. gasket.
A good buy
The gasket fit nicely and no leaks so far . The fitment was spot on .
There is nothing on them indicating they are actually Cometic gaskets. Are they Substitutes?
