Frequently Asked Questions

Is this cover waterproof?

It's water-resistant but not fully waterproof. The 75D rip-stop polyester with polyurethane undercoating sheds rain very well and is designed for outdoor storage.

What's included in the box?

The cover, compression storage bag, and all hardware including shock cord, belly strap, grommets, and cable lock anchors.

Can I lock the cover to my bike?

Yes — plastic grommets allow you to thread a cable through the cover and secure it to your frame or wheel, plus the belly strap and shock cord keep it tight in wind.

Does the exterior pocket stay accessible when the cover is on?

Yes. The storage compartment on the outside lets you grab gloves, sunglasses, or documents without removing the entire cover.

How should I store the cover when not in use?

Use the included compression storage bag to pack it down for easy storage in a closet, garage, or saddlebag during riding season.

Compact, Lightweight Travel Cover

I wanted a compact travel cover for my R1200GS with Jesse 10" Odyssey side panniers. Something to keep eyes off it when parked overnight at motels, as well as morning dew, sunshine, birdsh*t, surveillance drones, etc. I got a size large, which fits my bike very well. It does not cover all the way over my wheels - just about halfway, which is perfect as far as I'm concerned. I keep the cover in a small compression sack that takes up very little space in my pannier. It is quick and easy to get it on and off, with the exception of the elastic bottom straps. First time, I had to get on my back to pull them through and hook them like you are supposed to do. I will make a hook tool with a piece of dowel and a screw hook to snag the straps with before the next use. The fabric and build quality seems good for an ultralight product, and I suspect that barring a violent wind storm this cover will travel far and last me a good while. For added water repellence, I imagine that a Nikwax or similar waterproofing product would work well.

Dowco Delivers

I got this cover for my 2009 Ninja 250R (size medium) a month ago since I don't have a garage. It's held up very well and covers all of the bike. The pull strap comes in handy on windy days. A breeze to put on and take off. I'll use this year round, even when I put the bike in storage during the winter.

I'll admit, every time I remove the cover it feels like I'm unwrapping a Christmas present!

Great light weight cover

This cover is the perfect size to protect my 2016 BMW R1200GSA with the aluminum cases installed. It is like a custom fit. The cover is easy to install if you mark the front and the back with a marker to help you find the correct position. I bought the XL size. Highly recommended.

Great Product, Size Issue

The cover is excellent quality, and it packs up very nicely. I'm impressed, and so far its worked flawlessly in light drizzle conditions. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the size. Per the fit guide, I ordered the Adventure Touring size for use on my R1200GSA with aluminum panniers and top box. The front covers halfway down the front wheel, but the rear only wraps around the panniers. It does not go all the way down the rear wheel as shown in the photos. This is no big deal - It completely covers all major components. But it falls a little short of full rear wheel coverage as described.

Good cheap cover

As someone who lives in an apartment building I don't have the luxury of having a garage of my own and thus, getting a cover was the only way I could give my bike some way of being separated from the elements. This cover has done a great job so far. I've been using it regularly for about three months and there are no signs of wear with frequent use taking it on and off the bike. Also, I think the cover gives the bike less of a chance of being vandalized because a covered bike is much less alluring than a freshly polished one.

All in all, I would recommend this cover; however, if you have the money to spend on a heat shielded cover that will allow you to cover up quickly before the rain, it may be a good decision--especailly if the cover is filling the void of not having a garage.
