Peace of mind
There you are, you're running behind but you're finally meeting that amazing hottie for that date that will mark the beginning of the rest of your life. You've checked everything, wallet, cash, locked the door behind you, walked the pug already, you've got enough hairspray on that no helmet on earth will prevent your hair from snapping into place the moment you remove it, key in hand you fire up the Vessel that will transport you to "The Friday Night That You'll Be Talking about with your buddies for the next Six Months." You cannot wait to Ride into the Sunset,You can't stop thinking about this date... the last thing you need is to ride off with your lock on, you need a reminder, you my friend need to pick up an incredibly bright disc lock reminder cable as reviewed here, you'll be glad you did, so come on, don't let her get stood up because you put your bike down. you're future could depend on it !
Boing
Boing. Boing boing boing. Boing boing! Boing?
Super convenient
I use this reminder with my Xena dick lock, and it's definitely useful. I like it.
Simple but necessary part
I purchased a security lock which attaches to the front disk brake. You will probably damage your motorcycle when the lock impacts the motorcycle forks if the rider forget and attempts to drive off. This lightweight brightly colored cable attaches to the lock and loops over the handlebar to remind you that the lock is attached. Simple but effective. Yes you could make something yourself, but WILL you? Buy this with the lock and be done with it!
Handy to have
I ride with a leather jacket, regardless of the weather. I would rather sweat than watch scabs heal. Hopefully I will never need the protection of leather, but I'm happy knowing it's there if needed.
Once I get somewhere I don't want to keep my jacket on or carry it around in August. This allows me to lock up my jacket and helmet, knowing it's secure and will be there for me on the ride home. Buy one of these to use with your helmet lock, instead of leaving the jacket at home because "it's a short ride and nothing will happen".
safe riding,
Jack
If you've ever forgotten
If you forget to remove your disc lock just once you will realize the value of this simple piece. We use one on each of our 4 bikes here.
This saved me once. = worth it.
Simple tool that saved me from a disc lock error. Glad I bought it.
Does exactly what it says on the tin
How much of a review can you give for a bright orange tether? This disk lock reminder does exactly what it's supposed to--one end gets locked with my disk lock and the other end loops around my handlebar. I suppose the highest praise I can give it is that I haven't (yet) set off with my disk lock still attached. Bright orange color might also be a theft deterrent since it highlights the presence of a disk lock.

This thing is cheap insurance against a potentially expensive (and embarrassing) accident.
The best investment for your bike that you can make for under $20.
Nothing sucks more than going over your handlebars because you forgot to take off your disc lock. This simple reminder cable will make sure you don't have to explain why there is a huge dent in your helmet. I do wish it was a bit longer, that is the only thing keeping it from being 5 stars.
Works as a jacket lock
I actually used this to lock my jacket to my bike. It works great to pass through the arm of the jacket and lock to a helmet lock.
It does the job.
It does exactly what it is supposed to do. After I got a disc lock I almost never remembered it was on the bike until I saw the cable across my handlebars. Probably saved a lot of headaches.
Good for its purpose
Doesn't have much of a function, but it works for what its made for: reminding. Doesn't come in the same color for a brake lock I bought, even though the colors looked the same
and had same color names.
A little short
The product works as advertised. But, and this is my own fault, It is not quite long enough to reach from the rear rotor to the left handle on my ER-6N. Now, this isn't totally necessary. Obviously I can just hook it to the right handlebar without issue. It is just something to note, and as I like having it drape across the seat, it was a bit disappointing.

Still, a good product. It's strong and bright and works.
Okay but works
Tight coils wont stretch out the full 4.3. More like 3
Seems durable though and very bright. Too early to see how well it will stand up to the sun.
Not sure why it needs to cost so much for a plastic cord.
Reminds me not to ride away with disk lock!
Title says it all. Does exactly what I needed it to!
Nice reminder cable
Its a little bit pricey but it does the job it has a nice steel cable going through the inside surrounded by the outside rubber, despite being stretched out the cable shrinks down close to its original size typically
super item awesome addition again it looks good
I love it very visible shure does the job and it looks good would recomend it worth the money. nice touch to a black bike easy set up will never forget my lock the price was nice very happy
Does the job
Does the job for a resonable price. Could be a couple bucks cheaper, tho!
Plain and simple. Does the job
Just a simple cable to avoid you forgetting your disc lock.
Works as intended!
Reminds me to take off my lock! Works great! The finish on it gets worn down from the metal on the lock a little and I kinda wish it was a bit longer (going from rear disc to handle bar isn't really that possible on my Ninja 300). Other than these two minor things, it's perfect!
A Must
If you use any kind of lock that threads through your front brake disc, you must use this, too. Before this ingenious tool was brought to the market in the mid-1980s, riders like me were taking off, forgetting that they had a disc lock attached to their bikes. At best, it was embarrassing to tip over your bike when the lock hit the bottom of the fork sleeve; at worst, you seriously damaged your brakes. I did that twice before these things came to the market. Not once since the cords arrived. I have two of them now for my two Kryptonite disc locks, and I just replaced the one that was over fifteen years old. Not because it failed, but because the orange had faded quite a bit from years in the sun.
helpful reminder
I accidentally bought this thinking my disc lock didn't come with one. Cheap enough not to return. But its nice to know I have a back up if I lose the other. Better to be safe than sorry.
Good for lots of things...
This cord has steel braided line on the inside, so it's very durable, and would likely be difficult to cut through without something reasonably stout.

I use the cable to lock my helmet and sometimes my jacket (by running the cable through one arm of the jacket).
Good quality but too short
Summary sums it up. basically its too short to reach the bars of my ducati monster. it will work, but it is really really stretched.
Kryptonite Disc Lock Reminder
allows others to take notice something attached to disc and you
Works well
Works well, orange color helps to remind me,
Nothing to it
I actually use this for my kickstand pad. When I put it down I put the other end of the cable in my saddle bag. Makes picking it up and leaving much easier than trying to reach down to grab it. No complaints here.
Prevents me from riding off with my lock (which I almost did once.)
Bought this because the U-lock I bought didn't include it.
Disk lock remainder
Not bad quality for the money. Does the. Job it was intended to do
Kryptonite Disc Lock Reminder Cable
Great Kryptonite Disc Lock Reminder Cable.
Would like to see the cord longer.
Excellent rotor lock. Has rubber cover to keep moisture out. Recommend locking and unlocking at least once a month during nonriding months. Only downside Abus does not have a replacement key program for this model lock. If one key is lost recommend going to a locksmith and having another key made before you put lock back on bike, make sure replacement key works before using the lock again, in short always have two keys. If lock is on bike and you have no keys you have a big problem. Also use orange reminder cord, if you take off on your bike with rotor lock on you will tear your brake rotor to pieces. I always park by bike so I have to back up and turn around to take off, that way you will feel the lock catch and then know to remove it!
simple lock reminder
good reminder for your disc lock BUT the color doesn't match the quivolent Kryptonite lock!
Works Perfectly and Just what you would need
Work perfectly, the length is right for my BMW K1600gtl. This will save you from trying to drive off and the bright orange can be seen to deter thief's.
Great little reminder
Bought this as a reminder for the disk lock. Even though I normally don't forget about the disk lock, you never know!!
Simple and effective
Cheap, simple and easy. I won't put my disk lock on without it. I thought it was kinda short but I kinda like how small it is when it's coiled up and it reaches where it needs to.
I use it whenever I use the disc lock
It seems like a no?brainer that a rider would remember that he's got a lock on his disc brake. But I had a close call myself and there is no shortage of stories of people who have damaged their bikes and themselves, sometimes quite severely, when they forgot this detail.

Using this cable, makes it just about impossible to forget.

Shortcomings: I just wish it was about one foot longer. It springs back when the lock is opened, WHIPPING through the air, making it a bit of an eye hazard. As it's stretched with use, the issue has lessened, but it's still there.
Simple, but effective.
This simple device is more than worth the money spent on it. As much as I would like to think that I would always remember that there's a lock on my rotor, all it takes is one forgetful moment to damage your bike. Not only that, it's a great attention grabber to any would-be thieves.

It's simple, bright, and light, but worth every penny.
Hard to miss!
Great price, a lot cheaper than replacing a caliper bracket, or even worse a disc ! Nice and Bright!
serves its purpose
does what it's supposed to. good quality. long enough(I disc lock the front wheel). Highly visible.
No Brainer
This isn't rocket science, tie a leash to your disk lock, so you don't ride off with it on and become a YouTube sensation.

If your lock doesn't come with a reminder cord, this will do the trick; it's cheap, sturdy, and coils nicely to fit in a small space. I use mine with a Xena lock, so as long as there's just a touch of space between the disk and your lock you can use it; bonus on mine, it tightens up the fit a little, so that the lock is no longer loose on the brake disk.
Works great.
As long as you remember to put on your bike it'll remind you of your disc lock.
Simple and effective
After reading countless reviews before buying my own disc lock, I noticed there were a lot of stories about people leaving their disc lock on and causing damage to either their calipers, fairings or even dropping their bikes. I decided to play it safe and buy this reminder cord.

It has done exactly as expected: reminded me that the disc lock is installed when it is. It's inexpensive, I've never had it slide off the handlebars and it's bright orange, so it kinda matches the CBR :) ... It was well worth it.
Does what it needs to do
This is a rather simple product, but it does everything you need it to do. I have one end on my disc lock, and the other reaches all the way to my left handlebar grip with no issues.
Cool product for sure, easy to use, top quality. Hey thieves, kiss my what?
Should be standard with every lock
I wish this was standard with every disc lock. It always comes in handy to remind me that my bike is locked up - for some reason I don't always see the bright yellow disc lock that would surely ruin my front calipers if I forgot about it.
A little pricey for what it its, but it does the job
This is a simple piece of gear, but it may save you from a potentially embarrassing and expensive mistake. It reaches from my front disk to the throttle with only a little bit of stretching ('09 Ninja 250r) and it fits in my tiny under-seat space. It seems a little overpriced for what it is, but if you tack it on to an order with free shipping it isn't bad.
Does it's job
Works as expected and maybe about 80% stretched on my FZ8. Nice and bright so it can't be missed.
needed!
Good price, does what it says.
BRIGHT Cord pairs well with my BRIGHT lock
It's bright color serves a two fold purpose, it deters people looking to grab the bike real quick and it also is a reminder to me to remove the lock before riding.
It's a flexible cable reminder.
Good cable.

Bright orange to alert passer-bys of disc lock. Also to remind you so yo don't walk away from it.

It's a good length where when stretched from lock to handle-bar, the cable is probably at 90% stretch. Not too much slack and even if there was, the elasticity will compensate.

Stores right under the seat compartment of my Ninja 300 and that's that.

Only reason I gave it one star from perfect is because it's nearly a $10 cable. There are alternatives, but you buy the quality reputation of Kryptonite.
don't use a disc lock w/o one
Will do the job
Could stand to be longer.
Kept me from attempting to drive off a few times already. An inexpensive "training device" for those who get distracted on occasion.
Imperative if you use any lock on your bike. Never again forget to unlock before the ride.
Reasonable price and performed as expected
