Great seat
I'm very happy with my decision to buy this seat. It's MUCH more comfortable than stock and moves you up and back about an inch (which is good for me, at 6'1" the stock saddle had me kind of cramped). It looks great on the bike too; the sample photo RevIlla has is very representative of how it looked on my Sportster as well. The materials Mustang used in the construction of the seat are top notch and should last a lot longer than stock (which I put 5,000 miles on before replacing and should have gotten rid of much sooner). You aren't going to find a more comfortable solo seat for a sportster and won't go wrong here.
improvement on a nightster
First, the "plain" version has a braided-trimmed skirt deal around the sides and back. I didn't notice this in the pics before I got it....some might think it's a little too much flair for the minimalist Nightster. <br /><br />Second, it changes your riding position...I think it's an improvement, but I can see others not loving it. The internet consensus seems to be that this seat moves you up an inch and back an inch. I think its taller than that...closer to 2 inches. My riding position is different; I'm more "on" the bike tracker-style, rather then low-slung behind the bars. <br /><br />It has pretty much solved my no-travel-suspension tooth-rattling problem. And, after a week, I think the riding position is an improvement, for me anyway.
An improvement over stock
I ordered this seat due to the wide touring Mustang seat being out of stock. I was a little skeptical since it seems like the wider seat is more popular based on my research. For the price, I'm not sure the wider seat would be that much of an improvement. This seat is thicker and firmer than the stock seat on my 2015 Iron 883. As a result, I sit up a little higher, which is a good thing to me. Probably raised me just under an inch. It is more supportive and I can tell it will break in over time. You want firm and supportive on a motorcycle seat, not mushy. The build is much better than stock - solid feeling fiberglass seat pan and riveted covering that is thicker and better textured than stock. One oddity is that the front crotch area is not as wide as stock and doesn't come down on the sides in front as much. As a result, you see more of the frame and tank support bar over the stock seat- just a little. I suspect this is to bring back leg reach that might have been lost by the slight height increase. My weight is more to the back when riding so this isn't a problem (I have mid pegs on my Sportster.) I have a 32" inseam and weigh about 250lbs. This is a relatively inexpensive upgrade from the poorly constructed stock Sportster seat.
Mustang Solo Seat is a hit
I purchased this seat for my 2013 Iron 883 because after 45min the stock one wasn't doing it for me. I've waited a bit to write a review but I just got back from a 685 mile trip that was done over a long weekend and I can say this seat is awesome! It's a HUGE upgrade from the stock and I even like it better than the stock seat on the 2014 Street Glide that was riding with us. I high recommend for the Sportster.
GREAT SEAT FOR THE MONEY
I love the seat although I wish it was padded a little more and just a bit longer so that the lower back was not pushed against it as much. Im 6'1 and 175lbs - I find myself shifting forward some to avoid the pressure on the lower back after 20-30 miles. Still love the seat though! Tom Qualkenbush, Loudon TN

Night and Day from Stock
First off, the seat shipped almost immediately! My butt couldn't be more thankful!<br />I am: 6'1" , 230lbs.<br /><br />With the stock seat, towards the end of my commute, I would be shifting constantly to try and get comfortable. What it boils down to though is that the stock seat just really isn't all that supportive. Being wider framed myself, I believe it is too narrow for me and rests between my sit bones, not under them, which is part of the issue.<br /><br />I chose this particular saddle based off the reviews from this and other websites, as well as comparing it to those of other saddles I was considering. I wanted a solo, I wanted a classic look, and after some testing, determined it to be more comfortable for me to be positioned up-and-back than down-and-back. <br /><br />Initial impressions after a 50 mile ride:<br />Much more comfortable and supportive than stock seat, truly a night and day scenario in the difference.<br />Positioning is higher and further back, which is what I was looking to achieve.<br />Big difference in posture on the bike. I hadn't realized how "slouched over" my posture was on the original saddle.<br />No numbness, no discomfort after dismount.<br />This morning, no residual stiffness in the legs, lower back, or butt. However it is hard to accurately gauge because I am still recovering from a long ride with the stock seat over the weekend that basically left me hobbled... The encouraging sign is that I don't feel worse, I feel like I didn't even ride yesterday.<br /><br />Observations:<br />I noticed is that I am slightly stretched when on the highway pegs. It's just a hair further than I would prefer to the controls. But that's why they make different styles of handlebars, am I right?<br /><br />To me, it looks a bit oversized on the bike. It does feel just a little on the wide side between the legs too. Which makes me wonder if the standard solo would've been a better fit for comfort and aesthetics? <br /><br />Overall: Totally satisfied.
A must have upgrade for any Sporty owner
I've tried a few different seats on my 2008 XL1200C. This seat by far is the best one I have found. If your looking for comfort on long rides this is the one. I ride anywhere from 400 to 1000 miles in a day on the weekend. Seat feels great looks nice. Would recommend it to all.

At first I wasn't sure about it, but after a 10 hour ride yesterday. It worked out great. No more back pain.
After being so disappointed in the standard seat on my Sportster 48, I decided to try a Mustang replacement. The difference is astonishing. I can now ride hours before a break where original was a 30 minute max experience.

Only had it for a week and about 30 miles, but so far it is way more comfortable than the stock seat was on my 2017 XL883N.<br /><br />It looks great on the bike and installation was simple. Seems to be well made.

The stock seat was a killer for me. This is bigger, holds me in the saddle, and is very comfortable. I should have bought this sooner. I enclosed pictures of stock, and the Mustang.
The Best of the Worst for a Sportster
This is the seat I hate the least that is available for a Sportser. It is better than the factory one, and I do like the back rest. But for the price paid I should like it more.

Highly Recommend
This seat is fantastic. Feels like it needs a little break-in time, but not one complaint. I wish I would have picked it up a year ago. It does raise you up a couple of inches, but the little bit of length to the controls eases the squashed feeling I had. It is so comfortable, stable, and allows you to kick back without feeling like you are slipping off like I did with the stock seat of my 22 Iron 883. It is not that junk foam that they put in the stock seat, so I cant wait for this to break in.
Mustang wide tour with backrest
I’ve taken it out twice so far but nothing long distance. It sits further back up higher up than my last seat, but it was a forward reach so I could get used to the ride again. So far it’s unbelievably comfortable, the back rest is in just the right spot and I was able to attach a small bag that used to ride on the front of the bike. Overall I would so recommend this seat on just the comfort alone!!

Nice addition to my sportster
Great craftsmanship and super comfortable! Easy Install on 09 sportster with forward controls. Keeps ass in place on 5'6" frame. Did raise me in height around an inch but nothing substantial. Looks & feels really nice!

The stock seat has a bad tendency to choke my those causing them to half go to sleep, and after 10 minutes, i was not comfortable at all.<br /><br />This wide seat has much more real estate upon which you sit. my legs no longer go numb and i'm mostly comfortable. I've made the 1.5 hr journey to work several times with only minor discomfort and adjustment. a major improvement. The seat itself is a bit firm, thus the 4/5 stars. were it a bit more plush, it would have 5, but then, perhaps the firmness is needed for the support.<br /><br />the quality seems great so far.<br /><br />the sit also does not interlock with the head of the bolt underneath the seat. it merely is held on by your weight and the seat screw. however, it doesn't move at all and is not an issue.
Totally transformed my 1200C
Absolutely the most comfortable motorcycle seat I have ever used. Saved me from having to buy a bigger bike. Now I can comfortably ride for the duration of my 4.5 gallon Sportster tank. Mustang has now won a lifelong fan.

Almost Too Comfortable

This saddle was an upgrade from the model without the built-in backrest which I originally installed on my daughter's 2016 HD Sportster Custom. It took quite a while to get, but having the backrest really makes a difference for her. This saddle like the other one is of very good quality and extremely comfortable. For some reason the front horn on this saddle was a little longer which did cause some fitment issues that took a little tweaking to resolve.
Sinple install. Super comfortable seat. I didn't even makeit a mile down the road and could tell it was much more comfortable. Highly recommend. A+

I ordered this seat on a Sunday evening and received it the following Friday. The seat appears to be constructed well with quality materials. The seat mounted perfectly on my 2009 H-D Sportster and looks extremely nice as it matches my Sportsters' black and silver color scheme. Due to cold weather I was only able to ride it 9 miles (on county roads) to my sisters house, and after warming up, rode it back home. The seat was remarkably more comfortable than the original seat with softer foam and significantly more side and back support. The backrest is easy to adjust and removed (if desired). The backrest folds forward making getting on and off the bike easier. I am thrilled with my purchase and recommend it to those looking to improve their riding comfort.

I'm a relatively new, pretty short rider. Ride a 2015 Harley 48. The original seat on the bike was abysmal - I was wanting something firmer, with more support around my butt, without adding too much height to my seating position. Bought this seat after a bunch of research and I'm very happy with it. I'd give it 5-stars but it added about 3/4 inch to my positioning, keeping me just slightly from sitting flat-footed. I'm hoping once it breaks in a little, that will improve. All in all, great buy!

I put this Mustang Vintage Solo seat on my Harley 48 thinking it’ll probably be at least some improvement over the stock. But I was WRONG!! This seat is the best investment I’ve made on my bike. On the stock seat at around 30 miles my rear end was numb, but on my first trip with this seat I went over 100 miles round trip with ZERO issues! I could’ve gone more no problem. So glad I made this purchase and it was well worth the price. Not only does it look good, but it feels great too.

Seat looks good on my ‘12 had Sportster 883, however the picture was misleading. It appears to have a higher back rather then the lip that is actually there. It also raised me up from being flat footed to being on the balls of my feet. Overall, I’m ok with it but it’s not what I needed or wanted. I wanted back support.

I got this seat because the stock seat that came on my Iron 883 was just not comfortable. Too hard. I love my new seat. It is comfortable, and it gives me a little more lift. I recommend this product. It is also a lot cheaper than a seat just like it with Harley Davidson written on it.
I love this seat on my '08 XL1200N. It makes the ride so much more comfortable. The only issue that I have is that the seat "bunches/wrinkles" because it has to be pushed forward enough so that the retaining screw will thread in. Otherwise it looks awesome! I highly recommend Mustang and will buy again in the future!
I bought this for my wife and she said that it is decently comfortable. The seat is VERY wide for a passenger pad (this may also be specific to my wife). Quality is great and so is the look. I highly recommend Mustang and I will be buying from them again!

Tried several other seats to replace a 6 year old stock seat on a Nightster, but none did the trick. This seat provides just enough back support to keep me in place, and raises me just enough to give a little more leg room with the forward controls. It also fit perfectly, which is something more than the last seat I tried!

Our first encounter with Mustang was a new seat for my wife's Honda Shadow seat replacement. Now just got her a H-D 1200l and needed a better seat for her comfort. This seat did this and more. Very satisfied with our purchase and it make the bike look great. although she wont be having a passenger on her ride she still got the extended recessed pad to complete the set. excellent choices.

I can't say enough good things about this seat. It looks better in person than in the pictures. And it's several times more comfortable than the stock seat on the Iron 883. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a better seat.

Bought seat for my 2009 Sportster 1200 custom. This seat with the backrest, seems to have solved the pain I got in my tailbone from riding with my stock seat. Only downside is that the seat raised my sitting height on the bike, thereby making me reach to the handle bars. Otherwise, I love it.

I purchased this seat for my wife. She loves it. On a 200+ mile day her back hurt with the stock seat, but with this Mustang seat she has no pain. She said this is the most comfortable seat she's had on any of her motorcycles (Four, so far). I like the quality of the materials and workmanship. I'm sure it will last for many years.
Damn, I should have bought this when I bought the sportster low, sits about 2 inches higher but cushions 200% better than the stock seat.

Huge improvement over the stock seat on my 09 Nightster. The only improvement that could be made is to make the metal tab in the back lower so that it mates better with the bolt in the fender - I just used a couple of washers between the tab and the fender and it worked fine.

Mustang Wide Skirted & Studded Solo Seat for my '07 XL1200L is by far the best seat I have found the fits my Harley and my but. Wow was I surprised how nice this seat looks, and feels. This seat is top quality all the way. I think this seat is even more comfortable then my easy chair in my living room. It is very easy on your back, kidneys, and legs. The best part is it really dampens bumps and rough roads
To anyone looking for a VERY comfortable cool looking seat, get the Mustang solo. My search is over. It came in about 6 days, pristene right out of the box, and it feels awesome. The small "riser" in the back keeps you in place while your bookin' it down the road! Great seat, great price too. My search is over.
