Don't bother - Buyer beware
This is my second UV cover from Nelson-Rigg. The first one lasted nearly ten years of daily use before it finally wore out so I didn't hesitate to just order the exact same model for use on the same bike. When the new cover arrived I first noticed that it no longer had the additional layer of black material on the inside of the cover and felt much lighter weight. Sadly the new cover began to rip in less than a month. It's continued to shred and now needs replacement after less than a year of use. What a shame. Somewhere along the line NR went cheap and it shows in the product. Personally I'd gladly pay a bit more for quality.
Easy to use
Tried this past week in Hot sunny weather held up great. Had a heavy thunderstorm in the afternoon and kept the bike dry..no complaints..
Recommend
I purchased this as a rain/dew cover for an upcoming week long trip. I ordered an XL for a 2012 Multistrada with top case and side cases. Goes over the top case and windshield fine. Haven't had the side cases on yet but it looks like it will cover the tops of them with me running a bungee underneath to hold in place. If it doesn't go over the cases its not a deal breaker for me, I was more interested in covering seat and cockpit area. It has some built in straps including a couple that loop over the foot pegs. It packs up small in its own bag. Don't think its heavy enough for year round use, but perfect for occasional use.
Perfect for my needs
I purchased this cover to use while at work and potentially on the road. I purchased the XL to use with my KTM Super Adventure S. It is working perfectly for my needs so far, and if it lasts 1-2 seasons, as others describe, I'll be very happy in terms of value. I'll describe some of the features which stand out in my use. <br /><br />Pros: <br />1. Very lightweight, packs small. This is crucial so that it can always be with me, and not take up much space in the luggage. While constructed of very lightweight material, initial quality seems high. <br />2. Amply covers the upper fairing and cockpit, seats, and SOME luggage. It covers the top box (though gets saggy in the middle when doing so, and would not ALSO cover side bags), covers over half way down the rear wheel if NOT using any luggage, and covers all of both saddlebags if the top box is NOT in use.<br />3. Very easy and quick to deploy. <br />4. Its half-length configuration mean that you may not need to worry about engine or exhaust heat damaging it. I don't have time to wait for the bike to cool when commuting. <br />5. Very affordable, and a good value as long as it lasts at least 1 and preferably 2 years. I ride year-round so let's see! <br /><br />After about 1.5 months of intermittent use (winter commuting several days a week), there are no real "cons" for me to report, as long as certain things are kept in mind.<br />1. This is light on features and is made of very lightweight material. This is not a cover that will fully conceal your ride, and I wouldn't plan to leave it as the only covering on the bike if stored outdoors long-term. This is a plus for me, because I need it to be compact, but note this is NOT a fully-featured long-term cover.<br />2. There are no provisions for locking the cover. It's secured by two stretchy loops on each side. I'm using one set to secure the cover to the rider's footpegs and not using the other pair, though I would probably find a place to secure them if it was a very windy day.<br />3. The material doesn't appear very heat-resistant, in case it contacts any of your engine or exhaust system, though because it's a half cover, it probably usually doesn't.<br /><br />This cover warrants 5 stars for my use, which prioritizes compactness and value while protecting my ride from light precipitation and more importantly in my part of the world, UV damage.
Bought XL for 2016 BMW R1200RT
Great half cover for the price! I bought size XL for a 2016 BMW R1200RT with no top case and it fit great. Folds down pretty compact. <br /><br />Get the XL for sure. I almost bought a L and glad I didn't.
Perfect fit!
Fits (Large) my Tiger 900 Rally with a top box. I love the fact I can put it on a hot bike in about 30 seconds, perfect for commuting to work.
This is great fro summer or for trips
Great protection for the sun and rain, although the bottom part is unprotected. It comes in very handy for road trips, used when we rode to Canada last year from DC.
Good Quality; Bike Protection can be Subjective
The cover seems to have good build quality and certainly works as advertised. That is, it protects the bike from rain and sun. The trouble is that where the edges touch the bike I've gotten a whole bunch of little sand like scratches. I even get scratches with clean bike and clean cover. Where the cover goes over the back top case all is fine (just black non-polished plastic) but up front my bike's radiator out vents look like a brillow pad was run over the paint. I'd imagine with a different bike configuration where the cover edges aren't touching any painted areas of the bike, this cover would be great. It's just not great for me.
Very good value
This is a great cover if you like to travel but have limited space. I bought an XL and it was plenty big for my Triumph Tiger, even with a top case and custom windscreen. It packs down easily into a fanny pack it came with. It's rated as being waterproof. Hard to go wrong for the money.
Compact, light and easy to install!
Awesome so far, have only used it on one trip. XL half cover fits my 2021 Road Glide Limited perfectly and covers the most important areas! We will see on the durability as time goes on.
works great
It fits my ultra limited great
Great portability, good value for the price
I bought this to protect my bike from sun damage leaving it in a parking lot all day. Lasted two years with daily usage, until material started to tear.<br /><br />Fits nicely into the stuff-sack it comes with, and is very small, which I wanted; I clipped the sack to my pillion seat, so it was always convenient to pull out.
half cover is the way to go
Had regular covers but every afternoon the wind would come up and the full covers would get blown off. Half cover easier to put on and it does the job.......
performed great
I have used this item about ten times. It didn't take must room while on trips. Unlike my full MC cover. It kept the morning dew/rain off of my seat and the passenger's.
Good transportable cover
XL fits sport touring bikes with shield and luggage. Seems durable and easy to put on. Straps keep it from getting blown off.
Good cover.
This seems to be a good cover. I did have to change the size to an XL for my R1200 RT, which was a surprise, but after that the fit is good. It's not been through a hard rain yet, but a light rain left the bike dry.<br />It packs down relatively small.
R1250GS and bivy sack
I ordered this for two reasons:<br />1- protect my seats from UV exposure and weather.<br />2- a bivouac shelter<br /><br />My bike: R1250GS (standard)<br />- BMW aluminum panniers<br />- BMW aluminum top box<br />- Enduristan Sandstorm 4H tank bag<br /><br />The XL size fits great. It can cover the panniers but it's a bit of a stretch. I used some small Velcro cable ties on the rear elastic loops to attach to the frame. The front loops fit nicely over my Altrider highway pegs.<br /><br />If I want to catch a few Z's before getting moving again I can throw down the sleep pad then wrap myself in the cover, and the quilt if it's chilly. Of course, the even faster version of this would be to just sleep in my riding gear. <br /><br />But if the bike ever broke down beyond my abilities and I had to hoof it, I'd want to go very lightweight. The 15.5 ounce bike cover may be worth bringing, whereas the 42 ounce tent would suck to pack into my small riding backpack. I'd surely leave the heavy riding gear behind.<br /><br />I put the cover over myself while lying in bed, the vapor barrier had a warming effect. The bottom hem wrapped nicely around my feet and it completely covers me (could probably fit two people). It feels waterproof and should make a fine bivy sack. I'd want to breathe through a little opening if I cover my head, to keep from soaking myself in condensation.<br /><br />For now, five stars. Let's see if it'll last multiple trips.
Good enough
It functions fine, but the fit could be better. I have a 2013 BMW R1200R with hard cases and the fit is a little too snug and I followed the sizing instructions. The next size up is for a fully dressed cruiser, which would most likely be too loose. Other than that, it is lightweight and compact enough to store in the hard case. It keeps the dew off the seat and and instrument cluster and is much easier to pop on and off than my full size cover, which fits perfectly.
Perfect for Commuters
Does the job at an affordable price. I use it every day on my Triumph Tiger 900GT, and it keep bird poop and the weather at bay while parked at work.
good value
entirely satisfied, i got to use it last two nights - it kept heavy dew off bike so we could get an early start in the morning. R1200RT with passenger backrest - XL covers the side bags no problem.
What size will fit my bike?
I bought this for a 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260S with top trunk and saddlebags. I also bought an XL since the sizing chart is a bit ambiguous in that it doesn?t give actual dimensions. Haven?t used it yet but it appears to be just what I want. Keeping the XL and returning the Large. The reason I took one star off is the sizing information should be clear so you don?t have to order two and return one.
Great product so far.
I bought this cover for my 2019 bmw f850 gs and it fits very well over the bike with the aluminum side cases. It packs down to about half the size of a basketball so it?s great for bringing on trips to keep your bike clean and seat dry. It has quality thick elastic loops to go around foot pegs to keep from moving however the elastic bottom alone works fine. For the price this is truly a great product.
Nelson Rigg Half Cover
I ordered the XL for an 08 Kawasaki Concours. The cover fits great with side bags and winshield in lowest position
NR half cover
I've used this a few times and it works very well. I can set it up in minutes and take it down in less!!
Tried and proven on FJR1300
Have had this cover and used it every day. Bought it for light weight so I don't have a lava hot seat at the end of the day. Keeps dust off at home.
Very nice.
Fits my Ultra Glide perfect. Good quality. Would recommend.
CB500F
This cover fits just what I need when the bike is parked at work in the sun all day. It's also small and light enough to fit in my back pack for the ride home.
Fits well and stays in in wind on Indian Roadmaster.
Perfect as a daily sun shade
Used on a 1982 Honda Sabre 750 - fits snugly<br />This cover has great for keeping the sun and morning dew off my bike. The half size makes it so easy to take on and off for days that I ride into work. Of course I don't plan on using this for longer term coverage when the weather turns cold/wet. But so far this one has held up through spring & halfway thru summer with no signs of deterioration. Even if only lasts 1 or 2 riding seasons, the price if well worth it considering the protection it affords my seat and instruments.<br />The only beef I have is that they claimed it would fit into the under-seat storage...sure, if you stuff it really, really well and have nothing else in there you might get it in.
It's a cover
Just wanted folks to know it fits the VStrom...really easy, the extra straps hold it down and fit perfect. I bought it so the birds and sun don't damage the bike. I could care less about rain.
excellent first time purchase
I bought this for my 2015 BMW S1000RR. I believe I purchased the large, cant remember now. I have had no problems with it all summer. My bike is stored in a shed out of weather but I work 32 hr weekends and my bike sits out in the weather and sun on those weekends. I bought this to keep the sun from beating on it and keep the rain off it. So far its done that excellent. My bike sits out in a parking lot for 48 hours and no fading or uv ray dulling to the plastics and best of all...... heavy down pour rain and later the bike is dry. good investment, the material is holding up well so far for 90+ days and the fanny pack that holds it doubles as a lower seat support for me when I ride. Just turn it facing back and lean back on cruise control.
Good cover, sizing can vary
Still new so cant speak to durability but seems like will last. Have bmw 1250, xl was too big and had ti rtn, and L is a little small, had to extend the tie down loops to fit but so works good.
Nice cover for R1250 BMW ADV
Nice quality, light weight, packs up small, and I like that it's not a black cover. Will cover my 2024 BMW R1250 ADV with panniers attached. Bought size XL.
Useful cover to keep the sun off the top of the bike while at work.
I have a '21 F750GS with a Givi AF5127 Airflow windscreen and Givi 52 liter Trekker top case installed. A "large" is a tight fit, but it does cover the important bits. The side mirrors tend to stretch the front of the cover the most. The windscreen and top case tend to raise the whole cover kind of high, but it keeps the sun off the dashboard along with the seat which was my primary goal.<br /><br />Cover seems to be made well, packs well and after a few months of use shows no signs of seams failing. There's four bungee tie down points which help keep the cover from blowing away. <br /><br />I'll probably use this cover the rest of the year and get a XL sometime in the future since I think that will cover "more" of the bike so to speak.
It does a great job of protecting the seat and controls and I like the foot peg loops to keep it from coming off. I do wish I had bought the bigger size though. Its got to be stretched pretty tight to cover equally on not sides of the handle bar.
Works great in Colorado sun??
Hard to stretch over saddle bags.<br />Other than that it?s fine
Great security and sun protection for short stops in busy places.
Easy to deploy and stow. I feel much better being able to throw it on my bike especially when all loaded up with my gear. Out of sight, out of mind. Nice and compact and light.
Nifty little cover
I used this on a cross country trek when parking under covered areas wasn't available. I'm not sure how this would hold up for long periods of sun exposure due to its thinness but to keep the elements off at night while on the road it was perfect. It had the added benefit of concealing your dash should you have any camera equipment or electronics that you did not want to remove when parking for the night. The storage stuff sack is the perfect size, a lot of times they make the storage bag too small to use once its removed but I had no trouble returning it back to a stowed configuration
Easy to use and store. Would buy again. Use it 5-6x a week.
Waited 2 months to provide a legit review. I have a GL1500 Goldwing and it sits under the sun while I am at work. This cover is very easy to use and easy to store. I also have Dowco premium full cover which is just not easy to use and put away. The N-R half cover is well worth the money. Wish I had bought it earlier. Would definitely buy again.
Perfect for a road trip.
Just what I needed for overnight road-trips. Not a 'perfect' fit but considering that it is a "universal fit", it works for me. It comes with its own stuff sack and packs down to about the size of 2 soda cans.<br />This is fitted on my 2015 FJ09 with taller screen. Size Large
Perfect for leaving in my pack just in case. I have a 2019 Triumph Speed Twin. Bought the medium first. But it was a bit snug due to my bar end mirrors being up. Gave it to my boy who rides a 2018 Indian Scout Bobber. His bar end mirrors are underneath. Fit his fine. Ended up getting the large. Its a perfect fit on my bike. Even though I added the luggage rack behind the seat.
Good fit for the TriGlide
This is the first cover I have ever bought although I've been thinking about one for several years. We were on vacation for a couple of weeks and it worked great on my new TriGlide. Easy on and easy off and fits in the carrying sack just as advertised. Keeps your seat dry and covers any electronics you may have exposed.
Perfect half cover
If youre looking for a very compact cover that keeps the sun and the weather off your bike this is what youre looking for. It is absolutely perfect for a touring cover as well as a day cover for the computer.
Good lightweight cover
It does what I want, reflects the sun and lets air under the cover to prevent condensation.
Easy to cover my GL1800 and very sturdy.
Great quality and fit.
The quality is very good and it fits our H-D Tri Glide perfectly.
Nice and small for bags
Inexpensive, ok fit ,great for over night trips, mite need to do a little custom work with straps
Lightweight bike protection
Easy to carry around without taking up too much cargo space. The cover fits nicely with 4 elastic straps to hold the cover down as well as elastic throughout. This cover has been perfect for the Florida summers where we go from extreme sun to afternoon showers.
Should've gone bigger
It does the job, though with soft bags on a 250, it's kind of a tight fit. Bit it DOES work and for the price, you can't beat it
Not robust
This thing will tear too easily. A waste of money as far as Im concerned.
Just as Advertised
Was looking for a lightweight, waterproof, easy to pack, protective cover for my 2013 HD Ultra Classic which wouldnt break the bank and I found it here with the Nelson Rigg. It came with two black neoprene grommets to install. Im highly satisfied.
nelson rigg half cover
simple to use half cover . much easier to take along than a full size cover. so far works great
Good Enough
The Lg cover just fits on a '14 Yamaha FJR1300 WITHOUT the bags. Fits ok with the hard bags, but doesn't really cover them. It does what i want- protects from sun and keeps the morning dew off the seat when i travel. Nice small package. Fits under the rear seat so i can keep it with the bike all the time.
Bank for your Buck for sure!
Literally only bought this one for the ease and convince. I am a daily commuter and my bike sits in the parking lot at work all day. So I thought it would be wise to get something to cover her and protect her from the normal everyday elements. Thus far it has stayed on the bike in some pretty windy conditions. I got the XL because I have soft saddle bags and tail bag. It fits wonderfully on the whole top of the bike. It has yet to be out in the rain, but the box claims it's 100% waterproof, we shall see on that one. But as for what I got it for and how much I spent on it, the thing is bloody brilliant!!
Perfection in a bag
This cover from Nelson-Rigg is exactly what I expected. My bike being an 17' Triumph Tiger XCX the fitment is just off. I will speak about my time with an 10' R1 Rossi edition that I used another Nelson cover on. Half covers are the way to go. Light weight, easy to store, waterproof and UV proof. It just doesn't get any better than that. These covers are more so designed for sports bikes. But I have found its applications for my Big ADV bike as well.<br /><br />The build and qulity is excellent, 100% waterproof. Ultra light weight yet provides all the protection of big bulky covers. Cannot be beat for the price. <br /><br />I will always choose to cover my bikes with Nelson-Rigg half covers!
Ass Advertised
A great small cover. Highly recommended.
Convenient for dailly use
Packs small enough to use on daily commute to cover the bike during the day. Helps keep the bike cleaner and cooler, plus helps protect the bikes finishes.
Great product
Real easy to use. Perfect for keeping sun off bike if parked outside.
Does it's job well.
Only had this cover about a month.<br />Stops bird droppings from getting on the bike ( NINJA 1000 )<br />and the sun from baking it all day long in the parking lot.<br />The bag for it is simple and wraps around your waist with<br />a strap and clip. So far a good product.
Large fits 2014 KTM 1190r
I'm not sure of the Durability as I have just gotten it but it seems to be made well. The main reason for the review is to let you know that the size large does fit a KTM 1190r. I'm not sure if it's big enough to cover the panniers (which are not in yet), but it does cover the cowling to the rear rack which is what I was looking for. I'll try to up load a picture when I get one.
excellent protection though haven't tested in snow yet (thank goodness)
We've been using these Half-covers for a few months now. They have Velcro straps that fasten under the front fender and loops for the footpegs (front and rear). We got the medium size to fit on our KTM 500 and Husky TE250, so not big bikes. The covers fit well though the footpeg loops need to stretch quite a bit (and they do) to reach the pegs but they do a good job of keeping the covers fitting tightly. Neither of our bikes have rear pegs so have no idea how those fit. In heavy rain and dew, there's been no dampness (rain or condensation) under the covers, nor frost. In winds up to 40mph, the covers have been fine! With our dirt bikes' high exhausts, we can't put the covers on until cool but that's not the covers' fault. We leave (empty) soft luggage on the bikes and the covers wrap around them well. Each cover comes in a fanny pack-style stuff bag if you use those, we don't but two covers in a compression bag are about the size of a softball; perhaps could be smaller but we don't have a smaller compression bag. I rated the Comfort section high because it's nice not to have frost or a wet seat in the morning. Style is high because the cover pattern is well fitted to the bikes even with hand guards and soft luggage. Protection and Durability is high due to the waterproofness and lasting in the winds. Air Flow is high due to no dampness underneath. Features is dinged one because every time I stretch the loops over the pegs it feels like they're going to break; I think a less stretchy but sturdier material would be better. Bang for the Buck is very good as the covers are much lighter, portable, non-condensing, and fitted than a cheap blue tarp with bungee.
Perfect fit BMW R1200 rt
Fits perfectly vs BMW brand which did not. Very well made and have used in wind as well.
fit is excellent on my DL650 adventure
have not had it long enough to test durability, but, so far, it is been an excellent way to pack a small, effective weather/sun protector when on the road
Good cover
I have had this cover for a few weeks now and it fits great on the '13 DL650 ADV. One of the top reasons I got this cover was the UV protection. I just wish I packed up into a smaller package.
good product
fits my ZRX a little tight front to back, but that makes a nice taunt cover, keeps seat and instruments dry overnite, and does not take up much space when stored
Multistrada 1200 S
What do you want from a cover? Coverage! This cover does a perfect job of fully covering my Multistrada 1200 S with top case attached without being too floppy. Velcro ties could be used in breezy conditions, but I'm content to use the cover to keep the dust off when the Multi sits in my garage.
excellent -- just order slightly bigger than you think
This cover is perfect for traveling -packs quite small- and keeping the bike dry and proctected when parked in the rain, or overnight. I had to order a second one, because the first one (M) was a bit small for my BMW F700GS (ordered XL) so I kept the smaller one for my scooter.
Does the job twice over.
My Nelson-Rigg XL UV-2000 covers my two Hondas well, my CBR1100XX and my ST1100. Otherwise garaged, they're perfectly covered on the road.
Great product
I purchased the Large size for my FJR1300 since I usually do not have my luggage bags on the bike. It fits perfectly and it very easy to put on. It comes with a small fanny pack style bag which is convenient to strap on my my bike.
Great cover
Great item... I think they run one size small, but I have a windshield and a box on the back of my bike. With none of those it runs true to size.
It works great, it covers the whole top half of my BMW R1200RT plus the full sized saddlebags, haven't tried it with the top case on yet.
Nice item at a fair price.
I had one already and liked it. It worked well.
Not What I asked For
Not what I asked for so I returned it
Perfect
Perfect for multi-day trips and no one seems to screw with a bike that covered.
Nelson Rigg Half Cover
My second cover that I bought in December is now torn to sheds. The first one I bought lasted for several years before tearing at all. Seems the material quality is now inferior. Unfortunate as the function is quite good.
You guys were very accommodating and professional. You went the extra mile to get what I wanted. Keep it up !!!!
Needed for AZ Heat
Works well - size large. Photos added for reference. I did add to the side tie downs to make up for tall bars and mirrors.
Nelson Rigg Half Cover Rocks on BMW RT!
Easy on, easy off, stows small- fantastic! The straps are sturdy and keep the cover in place no matter the wind. Fits easily over my 2014 R1200RT with side and top cases installed.
Nelson Rigg half cover
Second one I've purchased, but the last one held up after five years of daily use, but was accidentally sliced when I pulled it out of my side hard bag. Perfect size for keeping things dry, in the shade, and tree/bird droppings off when parked. Easy to put on/off.
Great Half Cover
I've used the cover(size L) on my Moto Guzzi Stelvio for the past 2 1/2 years during rain and high temps. It has held up very well and has never come off due to winds. For the price it is hard to beat.
Nelson Rigg half cover (GoldWing)
This is the second one I have owned. I got almost 5 years of daily use out of my last one. It withstood the turmoils of long distance touring, daily commuting, and every day exposure to the elements. Highly recommend, I will purchase another once this one serves its purpose.
Nice cover.
Very good. Cover my 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 completely.
Keeps the Birds from ____ing on My Bike
It's lightweight and easy to put on and take off. It's perfect for my Kawasaki W800, but a little small for my Honda Shadow 750 with windshield-probably would fit if I took the windshield off. It's hard tell how long it will last, since I have only been using it for a couple weeks. I bought it so I could cover the bike right after a ride and not wait for the pipes to cool off.
I love this half cover by Nelson Rigg. It's very easy to put on and take off. It's very handy on trips, especially when it keeps rain or dew off your seat and controls. Never heard of it till now.
Great quality cover at a really good price! ??
Fits great, looks great, and good value.
Fits great and looks great on BMW R1200GS. Does what I needed for a half cover and packs really small.
Works great rain proof and small fold up size
used it for two week trip worked great love the fold up size to small size that is easy to stow on bike
Very good product
Exactly as presented. Good value
2023 BMW R1250RT Just about fits
Just fir my 2023 BMW R1250RT. Front is fine but the back is just a tiny bit small. Not enough to return it because I think it will do the job.
Won't properly fit a GL1500
I bought this to replace the worn cover for my GL1500 GoldWing. It's lightweight, but it has no reinforcement for an antenna (They actually suggest compromising the cover to fit the antenna through, which defeats the purpose of having a cover) I have to use the old school method of a cut tennis ball to keep the hinge from tearing through. I'm keeping it for now, but will be replacing with a higher quality one as soon as I can.
Excellent Fit for Honda CTX-1300
The cover fits my 2014 Honda CTX-1300 very well, nice and snug. This is the large size cover. I originally bought the medium but it was too small. My bike has a taller than stock Givi windshield and a Honda trunk box so I needed the large. It appears to be very well made and I?m looking forward to several years of service from it. I cover my bike every day to keep the dust and elements off of it.
Really close - R1250RT
Sizing is? tight. <br />Bought the LARGE for my 2021 BMW R1250RT. <br />It?s a decent size sport tour, no trunk or top-case. <br />Thought the large would be enough?<br />Almost. <br />It doesn?t quite cover the whole front fairing, catches instead on the space btw the wind screen and fairing, leaving headlights exposed. <br />Similar to the product box, what it shows for ?Harley? styles, I thought it?d cover more than it does. <br />Side coverage is about as expected, for a half cover. <br />The storage bag is TINY compared to the contents, and you really need to cram it in there to fit. After repeated use, I can see the stuff-sack or the cover tearing. <br />Material is ?slightly? stretchy, and what appears to be a thin vinyl coating on a thin nylon material. Because it?s sooo tight on the bike, it?s hard to stretch the side loops over the pegs; which are elastic and I suspect will stretch-out and wear-out over time. Fits a little better without them, but less wind-protection. Would have preferred a nylon line with a loop and a toggle (like on jacket pull-strings). Minor gripe. <br />Would have preferred black to the silver, but at least I knew what I was getting. <br />Haven?t tested it in the rain yet, that?ll be in two days (according to forecast). <br />At least it?s a known quality brand, so I expect it to perform similarly. <br />4/5 for construction <br />2/5 for travel packaging<br />3/5 for fitment<br />3/5 overall <br />See pics
Does what I need it to do. Sizing is an issue so be aware, had to go smaller than recommended to get a good fit.
It's a really nice dust cover in the summer. Easy to put on and easy to remove. It's a light weight material. Seems like it would be waterproof. The silver color stands out and makes the bike visible at night. I like it!
Nice sun cover but sizing is a little small
Good product, well made, fits well.<br /><br />However it has changed from the first one I bought 15+ years ago: The fit is a bit different, the Large is smaller than the old large so I had to buy the extra large for the same bike (V-Strom 650). The inside lining is no longer black, which cut light transmission better, and the tie down loops no longer have the front detachable velcro strap - that was VERY useful. Overall though, still a quality product
Better than I expected, light weight good quality easy to pack.
Fantastic!
2016 Africa Twin with luggage needs an extra large. It is great! Never have to look for shade!
Nice cover, but stuff sack should be sewn to the cover.
Great quick cover. I've only used it a handful of times so I don't have any in depth experience. Only 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel the stuff sack should be sewn into the cover like other covers I have bought. Every time I have used it so far I have had to get it out of my bags, take the cover out of the stuff sack, then dig my keys back out because I forgot the sack is not part of the cover and needs to be put away.
Just what I was looking for. Seems to be well made and fits my Honda Fury very well. Would recommend.
Portable Protection
Fits my Zero SR/S with saddlebags just right. Folds up into my saddlebags so I can take it to work.
Have had 2 of these over the past 6 years for an '04 Katana 750 and they have been great. Great fit. Seams started coming apart after about 4 years. Not heavy duty, not intended for extreme weather but it keeps the bike clean in the garage and the sun and light precip off at work. Light weight - packs away nicely. Got the Large for my Tiger and it fits well with a Givi box on back.
I have not had a chance to use it on the road yet but I did test fit it and it fits and seems secure. It was easy to put back in the bag and should be just what i needed for overnight stays away from home.
NO
Used once, it tore, went in trash first time.
These covers are the best to keep your Motorsports clean and hidden ?.. I recommend them for sure?. Plus half covers are easy to work?..
I thought it would keep seat cooler. Not so much. But small and compact while traveling. Out of sight, out of mind at the motel. Quickly deployed, once I marked the Front.
Becoming a big fan of Nelson-Rigg
My second Nelson-Rigg purchase, and there will likely be more. Impressive quality.
Works as advertised
I bought this for a road trip and it worked great. Easy to put on and off, and it packs up into a small pouch.
Fits my triumph T100 with windshield perfectly.
Great buy!
Very impressed by the size and fit of this half cover. Super thin material yet unexpectedly rugged. The price is the icing on the cake. I keep this on my 1995 goldwing to protect the 25 year old brittle plastic from more exposure to UV.
Small and compact
Light weight easy on and off, also small enough to take on a road trip
Perfect fit, just what I was hoping for.??
as advertised
Does what it's supposed to do - protects instruments, dash and seats without taking up too much space. Fit well on my Indian Chieftain.<br /><br />A nice surprise was the option to create a hole for an antenna. They included a metal ring to edge the fabric nicely so it won't shred.
Very nice and easy to take on/off
This was exactly what I needed for my CB500x
We needed this as we were heading out on vacation. Got as promised on time.
I wanted a smaller cover to use at work. I love this thing. Multiple elastic loops to secure to foot pegs. Very strong and light. I use it instead of my full size one now.
The cover fits my Victory Cross Country Tour perfectly. I use it all the time!
Simple protection
Great product for keeping my CRF250L Rally protected in the rain and beating sun in Florida. Light weight and minimal packed size make this a useful cover when I commute to work. The hot muffler will not damage the cover in any way. I have used it for a month and it still looks brand new.
Great for mid size bike
I got it for my Triumph Sprint ST and it's been great. Good quality, stows small and just enough coverage if you get rain while on the road. Stows to about the size of a wadded up long sleeve t-shirt and pops on quikly.
check the sizing chart the manufacturer provides
I'm on my second one. Would buy another, these things hold up well, and I am a daily commuter so it's in the sun and rain every weekday. The large cover was a perfect fit for my 1190 ADV, but did not fit on my Super duke GT with the panniers on, so I ordered the XL. It is plenty big, even baggy here and there, but covers the bike from the panniers to the windscreen, and does not tough the pipes so you can put it on when the bike is hot and not worry.<br />Pro Tip: Get some micro-bungee cords and use them to tighten up and customize the fit, this way you can be sure it can't blow off and the shape does not create a rain-bucket.
Great price, good quality. Perfect!
Great Fit!
I needed a half cover for a Harley Trike. I already have a full cover made by Nelson-Rigg that I really like. That was the first place I looked for the half cover. After speaking with someone from customer service, they were not sure of a match. I took a chance and ordered an x-large. The half cover was perfect for my bike. Easy to use, fold for storage, and use again! This makes three different covers I have ordered and I'm extremely satisfied with them all. I recommend Nelson-Rigg for all your coverage needs!!
Decent product, very lightweight.
Exactly what I expected
This cover is light, easy to manage and fits a 1250GS perfectly
Repeat customer
This is my second Nelson Rigg half cover. They are very durable and perfect for travel protecting from the sun, dew and even rain. Excellent value.
I have an 2002 FXDWG with a Memphis shades fairing. The cover fits nicely and stays secure in the wind. It protects the bike exactly as I wanted.
Covering Hdlf
Is a good looking. Fits nicely.
Pros:Good material & fitment straps Price & Looks good Folds up well<br />Cons:Fits small, get next size up if you want to cover top case and bags as well as the windshield. I got a medium for an F800GT and I have to remove the bags and top case and it still can't cover the windshield. My bad
5 Stars
Does just what it needs to
I purchased this half cover to use during a recent cross country ride, needing something small and easy to put on/take off as well as take little to no room in the side bags. This worked perfect. I got a medium for my BMR R1200R ... fit is a bit small, as it won't cover the side bags but its not that big a deal as those lock. The cover easily fit over the small windscreen and back to the underside of the tail section. <br />Bigger would have had more coverage, but would have also packed bigger - this covered what I needed and was so easy to use. Only adjustment I made was adding a small loop of perlon cord to the elastic straps as they wouldn't reach my footpegs. <br />EZ to use, lightweight and does just what it needs to.
1/2 c0ver review
Lightweight and small package - excellent for travel. Works well on my H-D Tri-Glide
5 Stars
Awesome cover for the price. I just purchased my 3rd cover over 10 years. Mostly replaced them because of tears along the seams but that's expected especially sitting outside in windy conditions. It also rolls up easily and stores in a backpack with no problems. I will purchase again in the future.
keeping the sun off of my Multistrada
Fits great. Can't believe it still folds up into the small bag it came in! Great value.
the only thing i dont like is there is not a cutout for the antenna so i have to take it off each time i use it
Nelson Rigg Half Cover
You get what you pay for, works fine a little bit bulky
Good material.
I bought the MD size for my V-ROD. It does not stretch as in the picture. The straps are in the wrong places for my bike. I suppose thats to be expected for a universal cover. They could improve it by having multiple loopholes along the edge that you could attach the straps to.<br />I will probably have it altered.
Did not fit my bike. Looked like a nic product, but can not use.
Nice cover for the price
It doesn't look all that durable, but for the price, I can buy a replacement! Fits great on my FJR.
Good for 2013 FJR with tall windscreen.
Good for 2013 FJR with tall windscreen. Fits pretty good, not too snug it's a pain to install and not too loose. Good for the price.
Fits like a glove
I decided to buy this half cover so I could cover my bike during the day while I was at work from the sun and rain. I was really impressed how perfectly it fit. I have a full windscreen and a 45L case. I will say that the site elastic straps are kind of concerning. They seem really weak and like they'll fail after regular use. Overall, I like its fit and I like the it protects. I have included pictures so you can see for yourself. I have included pictures so you can see for yourself.
Barely lasted a year
I used this when I commuted to work, and overnight when it wasn't raining. It ripped when it snagged in my backpack once - didn't think much of it and repaired it with duct tape. A year later, it ripped 3 times over a span of a week, just from putting it on over my bike (near seams, and where it touched my bike, such as over the wind shield). From my experience, it does not stand up to frequent use. I guess it worked well and packed up nicely for the year it stayed together.
Great all around cover for Florida living!
I have to leave my bike outside in the constant Florida rain and sun. I was planning to use this just as a day cover during work, but it has actually worked really well for "storing" the bike outside for multiple days of rain and heat. For the first month the cover has held up really well. We will see how it looks in a year.<br /><br />It is easy to put on and take off. Stays on in windy rain storms. Keeps the main part of the bike quite dry in rain. Folds very small. Comes with a nice bag.<br /><br />I am very pleased with this cover. If it ever does wear out, I will most likely purchase another one.
excellent
The measurements are excellent and accurate:D as shown in the picture of the product
On-The-Road Cover
I like using this cover for when I'm mobile. When parked at home, my bike gets a full canvas cover. I carry this on my bike for when I need cover away from home. It packs small and covers enough of the bike so I won't have a soaking wet/scorching hot seat.
Great portable cover
It's a basic bikini style cover for a motorcycle - it works great though. Keeps the weather off the important stuff and doesn't rub on hot parts of the engine after a ride. The portability is great also so I can take it with me on longer trips.
Fit great.
Works like sandpaper
Took this lightweight option on a cross-country trip. Sorry I did, the fabric acts like sandpaper and left scratches all over the fairing of my Trophy. Also, the extra large was not large enough to cover the side bags and the elastic that secures to the foot pegs has already started to deteriorate and lose it's stretch.
Quality of the product has improved from the last model
The older style i had lasted a little over a year. It was thin and easy to stuff into the pouch and did its job. But after a year, it started becomming more duct tape then material. This newer one (silver outside, black inside) seems much better built. It is a thicker material. I could not stuff it into the original pouch mounted proving the material is a little thicker, But a little adjustment fixed that. I have it for 2 months now, and it is still holding strong, even the elastics are still elastic and not all stretched out. Down here in South Mississippi, covers are a need unless you want 1st degree burns on your bum. Good quality and product for the price, will buy again when this one wears out.
Better than expected
I commute to work 5 days a week and my bike sits in the sun all day. I got this cover hoping that it slows down the fading of the anodized parts on my bike and the other damaging affects of the sun.<br /><br />I got a size medium to cover my 2013 ZX10R. Great fit on the bike, nice and snug like I had hoped. Easy to carry since it folds up nicely and it stores neatly in it's own bag. It doesn't even take a minute to put it on and it comes off just as easily. That is including taking it out of it's bag unfolding when I park and folding it back up to store it before I leave.<br /><br />It seems very durable. Hopefully it will last through another summer. I definitely feel it is worth getting.
Quality has gone downhill
I previously had one of these for 3-4 seasons, and it worked great. When that one wore out, I bought another in the same size. Not only was the new one too small, but the manufacturer had done away with the soft liner on the inside. So I ordered one in the correct size, but it only lasted a season (2014) before it had torn laterally in two places. I will not buy another one.
This product fits Victory Cross Country Tour
I couldn't find a half cover that was made specifically for a Victory Cross Country Tour. I gambled on the Nelson-Rigg UV-2000 based on a blog I read that it would fit. It fit perfectly even with my optional touring windshield. I used the cover every day on a three week trip and it held up great.
Perfect cover for traveling
This cover wins a big thumbs up. Has all the features you look for in a cover. Its water resistant and mildew resistant as well. It fits well in a tank bag and I can have it out of the bag and installed in less than one minute. It doesn't mind being rolled or bunched up and put away in its carry bag. No matter how I fold it or not fold it the cover is always back in shape and doing its job when I install it. Do yourself a favor and get this for yourself or someone you know. Either way you can't go wrong.
Incorrect fit Honda CB500X
Purchased size MD for my Honda CB500X motorcycle based in Nelson-Rigg size chart . That size is definitevely small for this bike, probably can fit by removing the rear mirrors.<br />I am planning to cut openings in place of the mirrors to have it fit but will probably tear down .<br />Beware of size.
Great for trips.fits and easy to carry.
Bought it for travel
I am travelling a lot and mostly camping. This cover is just perfect. Little size when packed but cover the entire top of the motorcycle when installed. Prevent tree sap to stick to the bike. Good product.
This product does just what it claims.
I like the fact that it doesn't cover the engine, which allows me to cover the bike immediately after a ride. The only negative for me: the saddle bags on my BMW are pretty wide and the cover isn't quite wide enough to stay on the reliably.
Hard to beat for the part
Picked this up for my wife's F4I. Fit was great. I was a bit worried at first because of how light the material is. But we are using it in the garage mainly for dust protection. For our purpose I would highly recommend it. If you bike has to spend lots of time outdoors maybe not the cover you are looking for.
UV 2000 Half Cover
This cover is exactly what I was looking for. Something to protect the top half of my BMW R1200 RT, Screen, Instruments, Switches, Seat etc, from the sun, rain and dust when parked outside of work. All the other covers I looked at cover the engine as well. This cover goes on as soon as I get off the bike, no need to wait for it to cool down. It fits very well and takes only seconds to put on, it also rolls up and fits back into it's own bag and takes up very little space in my top box. It really is the best cover for my needs.
This product has a good material
I use this cover for my BMW K1600GT.<br />It fit ok kind a to loose in the front of the bike.<br />But it protec very well.<br />The price is the best part.<br />Thanks.
Fits My Bike Perfectly.
Outstanding cover. The waistbag is a nice touch for those of us that do not have saddlebags for storage. Fits securely with the use of the elastic cords.
Better Than Expected
I bought this because it was the cheapest solution to my problem, which had two parts: First, protect my bike (particularly the seat) from UV rays; Second, keep my bike dry in the event of afternoon showers. Mission accomplished...but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got, for how little I paid. Elastic loops and Velcro straps allow me to secure it to rear sets, lights, etc., plus the entire outer edge is elasticized. Hangs on VERY well in the wind. Also, this cover's shape accommodates my mirrors very well. I love that it's light gray, and not black. I have no idea how durable this is, or how long it will last, but I'm sure the color helps. Especially in the Memphis summer sun! One last thing...this cover doesn't touch a single exhaust or engine part on my 2013 CBR 250R. That's brilliant! What a great bargain!
Light weight, easy to pack
Purchased this cover for long trips, it packs small and covers most of my bike.
Half-Cover Perfect for my BMW K1200S
Fits great---even with my Pannier saddle bags mounted. Easy to put on and off and is very compact for stowage on the bike when travelling (i.e., it compresses very nicely and easily in the stuff sack that comes with it). Keeps my radar detector and GPS out of sight and protected from rain and dew overnight, when travelling. Elastic keepers and Velcro closures are well-positioned and easy to use. Great product.
Nice compact cover
I use this cover when parked at work to keep the sun and rain off. It is easy to deploy and doesn't take up a lot of room when stored. I wouldn't recommend it for storing your bike outside long term. I don't think it's heavy enough for that.
Fits well and works exactly as advertised. Comes with a great storage bag that I clip to the back of my sissy bar whenever the weather is overcast and threatening rain.
Great, Protective Half-Cover
This is a great half-cover that It folds up small enough to fit under the rear seat of my 06' naked SV650, which is the main reason I bought it. My bike has the high - OEM handlebar mounted mirrors removed, with bar-end mirrors installed, and the Medium sized cover fits just about perfect. The cover is of high quality, secures well using the elastic straps, and offers great rain/sun protection for the areas of the bike that it does cover (body, seat, handlebars, headlight). The lower portion of the bike, including the front/rear tires & muffler are not covered when the cover is installed.
Keep it covered!
I have a '05 R1200gs with Aeroflow windscreen, Jesse Odyssey bags and large Shad topcase. The XL cover fits my bike great. The non-sidestand bag is a bit a of a stretch, but all the other vitals are covered. I would appreciate a felt interior panel for the windscreen, though. Like any cover, stuffing it into the included bag is always a challenge, but I've had better luck with this one than the full-size covers I've owned in the past. Plus, it doesn't take up as much space in panniers or trunk as a full-size.<br />If what you want to do is protect your seat, gauges and windshield from sun & rain, this is the cover for you. Plus, prying eyes are likely to move on to the next uncovered machine.
Perfect on the go cover to shield from sun, UV, and rain
Very happy with this product. Use it in the Florida sun and heat to shield bike from sun/UV and impromptu cloudbursts while on the go. Very easy to wrap up and store in a small pouch. Prompt delivery.
I bought two, one for my brother and one for my brother-in-law. Both have Ultra Classics and they said they fit, and perform as advertised. I do not know how they will stand up to adverse weather, but the initial impression of the fabric and construction is positive. Furthermore, the price was very good.
Waterproof cover
I bought this for work and so far, so good. It doesn't take up much space in my saddle bags and keeps my grips, seat etc dry while my bike is parked. It is a little awkward to figure out how it goes over the bike but if everything is covered who cares if I put it on backward right?! Having a portable waterproof cover is really great! I'm sure in the summer having it keep my seat cool will be nice too.
Nice Cover
Store bike in garage at home but need a compact cover for use when traveling.
Great cove up
This cover fit my motorcycle exactly as described. and was also a great quailty cover for the money
Compact cover to keep the bike dry. Can use with hot bike as it stays away from hot parts.
About what you would expect from a bike cover
This cover works well and stores easily in the provioded pouch.
Nelson Rigg Good Buy
This cover has seen many rain showers and my Diavel stays dry.
Excellent quality as expected. Perfect fit. I was surprised to see that it came with a small fanny pack to hold the cover.
Compact, fits right inside my pack pack.
Great cover for long tours or short rides. Stores easily taking up very little room.
Perfect exactly what I was looking for
I have not seen how this will fair in the rain, but this is exactly what I was looking for in terms of size while protecting the bike and still allowing airflow around the bike.
Great value cover.
Fits great on 2012 Honda Goldwing Airbag. It looks like it will hold up well too!
Fit's great on my Concours 14
I can get this cover over my top case and side bags with ease. Packs up fairly small too.
Works as advertised
My previous red ST1100 turned pink in the sun sitting at work and I didn't want that happening again. I have a newer red ST1300 now and I've been using the cover daily at work for the past 1/2 year. It fits easily in 1/2 of a saddle bag. It would roll up tighter but I don't need the space so I leave it loose. I can throw it over the bike in seconds and it's covered nicely. The tie-downs keep it in place. It's really nice to go out after a full day of rain and have a dry bike. The only drawback is if I have the top-box installed the cover is just a little short to make it completely around the saddlebags. I rarely use the top-box when commuting so it's not a problem for me. It's the perfect solution for me.
Excellent value.
I have had Nelson Rigg covers before and for my purposes, to cover my bike on trips, they have performed well. I have not used this one yet, but it fits my bike nicely and is well made.
Nice & compact. Can store in my fairing,
Got it for overnight trips. Haven't used it yet. It is perfect for my needs. Stores in fairing. Easy to install with anchoring straps.
This is a super product with a great price. If you buy one you will like it.
This is a super product with a great price. If you buy one you will like it.
Product did exactly as advertised.
Fit well and protected bike from dew and rain. Did exactly what I wanted at a great price. True value for your dollar.
Easy on & off
I bought this for my Concours 1400. I have to park outside for work and it does just what I was looking for. Keeps the sun rain and dust off, + stores in a small space.
