Frequently Asked Questions

How does Frequency Sensing Technology work?

FST senses bump frequency and automatically adjusts damping — small bumps get less damping, large ones get more — all while you ride with no rider input needed.

Can I adjust preload myself?

Yes. The top-mount threaded preload adjuster twists by hand — no special tools required. Adjust to dial in ride height and spring firmness.

Do these require installation tools?

Standard installation tools are required. Progressive's preload adjuster itself needs no special wrench.

What warranty covers these shocks?

Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Register with Progressive for full coverage details.

Should I choose standard or heavy duty spring rate?

Standard rate suits typical riding and stock suspension geometry. Heavy duty rate is for riders who carry extra load or want a firmer feel.

Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
