About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Elevate your Harley-Davidson Softail's ride with the Progressive 465 Series Monotube Shock. Built with a 46mm bore high-pressure gas monotube design and deflective disc damping, this shock delivers consistent and low-friction suspension performance. Each unit is hand-tuned and dyno-tested, featuring a 5-position rebound adjuster for precise control.

Why riders pick this

The Progressive 465 Series Monotube Shock is engineered to provide a significant performance upgrade for your Harley Softail. Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
