About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Unleash the full potential of your 2006-2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna with Progressive 494 Sport Series shocks. Engineered for performance, these shocks provide superior handling and ride comfort whether you're cruising or pushing the limits in the canyons. Experience a noticeable upgrade in control and stability for a more confident ride.

Why riders pick this

  • High-pressure monotube design for responsive damping
  • Hand-adjustable preload for quick ride tuning

  • Progressive rate spring handles varied road conditions
  • Engineered jounce bumper prevents bottoming out

These Progressive 494 Sport Series shocks are specifically designed for 2006-2009 Harley Dyna models, transforming your bike's ride. Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
