Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.
Upgrade your Harley-Davidson's front suspension with Progressive's advanced fork springs, featuring a progressive-rate winding. This design ensures optimal performance by absorbing minor road imperfections while providing robust support against larger impacts, significantly reducing front-end dive during heavy braking.
Why riders pick this
Progressive-rate winding for versatile bump absorption
Minimizes front-end dive under braking
Precision wound for consistent performance
Improves overall handling and ride stability
These Progressive fork springs are engineered for riders who demand more from their Harley-Davidson's suspension. The progressive-rate winding provides a dual benefit: a soft initial feel for comfort over small bumps and increased firmness as the forks compress, preventing harsh bottoming out and maintaining stability. This translates to a more controlled and confident ride, whether you're cruising or pushing your bike hard.
Responsive Suspension Control
Progressive-rate winding handles both small bumps and major impacts
Engineered to reduce front-end dive during hard braking
Precision wound construction ensures consistent performance
Available in different versions to suit various riding needs
Optimizing Your Front End
Choosing the right fork springs is crucial for unlocking your Harley-Davidson's full potential. Progressive's design aims to balance comfort and control, making your bike more predictable through corners and under braking. Always confirm the specific version required for your model year and riding style to achieve the best results.

Common questions
How do progressive-rate springs improve handling?
They provide a softer initial feel for comfort over small bumps, then progressively stiffen to resist bottoming out and reduce front-end dive during braking or hard cornering.
Will these reduce front-end dive when I brake hard?
Yes, the progressive rate is engineered to minimize brake dive while maintaining ride comfort on smaller bumps, giving you more control.
Do I need any special tools for installation?
Installing fork springs typically requires basic motorcycle tools and some specialized fork tools. Professional installation is recommended for optimal results.

Great Stock Replacement
Great replacement for stock, I ride an 05 XL that was clapped out in the front and when sat on the drop was close to bottoming out. I had to cut the PVC spcer in half to get the cap back on the top of the fork, but other than that the product is great. I replaced out with 20WT and when sitting on the bike it drops 11/2. Bike doesnt dive under breaking and handles far better. Best bang for the buck without a total rebuild or spending thousands on inverted forks.
