About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Transform your Harley-Davidson's ride with Progressive Rate fork springs, meticulously engineered to provide a balanced and responsive front suspension. These springs are designed to seamlessly absorb small road bumps while maintaining crucial firmness for larger impacts, significantly improving overall ride comfort and stability.

Why riders pick this

  • Progressive rate for adaptable bump absorption
  • Precision wound for reliable, consistent performance
  • Reduces front-end dive for better braking stability
  • Improves overall ride comfort and control

Progressive Rate fork springs are a game-changer for any Harley-Davidson rider seeking enhanced performance and control. Their precision-wound design isn't just about comfort; it actively works to reduce front-end dive during braking, giving you more confidence and a planted feel when slowing down. This intelligent engineering ensures a smoother ride on varied road surfaces and a more predictable response when you need it most.

Optimized Suspension Performance

  • Progressive rate spring curve adapts to different road conditions
  • Precision wound construction for consistent and reliable performance
  • Actively reduces front-end dive during braking
  • Enhances overall ride comfort and stability on your Harley-Davidson

Unlocking Your Bike's Potential

Common questions

What's the main benefit of progressive rate springs?

Progressive rate springs offer a softer initial feel for comfort over small bumps, then get stiffer deeper in the travel to resist bottoming and reduce brake dive, providing a balanced ride.

Will these springs improve my bike's handling?

Yes, by providing more consistent damping and reducing front-end dive, these springs contribute to more predictable handling and a more stable ride.

Are these difficult to install?

Fork spring installation can be done by a competent home mechanic, but it often requires specific tools and knowledge of fork disassembly. Professional installation is always an option.

Great Stock Replacement

Great replacement for stock, I ride an 05 XL that was clapped out in the front and when sat on the drop was close to bottoming out. I had to cut the PVC spcer in half to get the cap back on the top of the fork, but other than that the product is great. I replaced out with 20WT and when sitting on the bike it drops 1”1/2. Bike doesn’t dive under breaking and handles far better. Best bang for the buck without a total rebuild or spending thousands on inverted forks.
