IF Big...Go Big (Heavy Duty)
There are multiple reviews and recommendations for Standard or heavy Duty 11inch shocks out there. I have these on a 2015 HD Street Bob. Unfortunately the review I read recommended standard for someone 275lb and under. I'm 250lbs and bottom out/drag pipes in the faster turns with the standards on the 5 setting. These shocks look and ride great. I don't regret the purchase, regardless.
Even better than I had expected!
These shocks look and feel amazing! I weigh 190 and only ride 2-up occasionally but decided to go with the 12.5" Heavy Duty shocks anyway. This proved to be a great decision as they are nice and stiff for aggressive riding but handle the road with ease.<br /><br />Side Note: To spite the photographs, the black shocks do come with the skirts on the bottom like the chrome shocks that are pictured. If you do not want the skirts on then you will need a spring compressor from Progressive to remove them. It is a very easy job with the correct tool.
Nice easy mod
These shocks are the best entry level customs you can buy! Super easy install. Night and day difference in ride and handling from stock. This is also a great way to raise or lower your ride in the 2-3 inch range. If you plan on riding 2 up or weigh over 250, you should consider the Heavy Duty. Peace
Better cornering
I bought these for my 13 streetbob to raise the bike. I purchased 13.5 inch springs and the handling increased dramatically. At slow speeds the bike does like to tip more but this helps in the corners. Bike hugs much better and makes it so I only scrape the controls and not my Vance and Hines ProPipe.

Look amazing on my bike but def stiff for me. Kinda wish I got the standard and not heavy duty. Im 180lb on a 06 Dyna wide glide.

Best upgrade for the money
Bought these just prior to a trip to the west coast with the wife. Stock suspension would bottom out with both of us on the bike hitting small bumps. Purchased these with the heavy duty springs, and now her I and all of our gear ride very smooth and comfortable on the bike. With the heavy duty springs I have the setting on the second notch for road trips. And the first notch for just myself riding around town. I would suggest getting these and you wont regret it.
Great riding, looking, fitting, and priced shock.
This is my second pair (first was 12.6'') and they dropped the rear just like I wanted. I have a chopped factory fender and the factory height left too much fender-wheel space. Looks great and most importantly rides great.
Great Upgrade
I have read many reviews and some people were not impressed with the quality. I love these shocks. I have a 2006 Streetbob and the previous owner had installed some cheap aftermarket no name brand shocks. These were an incredible upgrade. I bought the correct size according to HD Manual and it has allowed me to ride safer and more comfortable.
Exactly what I wanted
Great product the shocks did exactly what I wanted them to do. The feel very responsive in turns and stay planted in the straights. A Little bumpy on non perfect roads.
Great shocks
I love these shocks. Much better than the stock Dyna shocks. I live on the desert, and some the roads make me feel as if I'm in New Jersey. The big bumps are smoothed out at the bottom, and all the little ones are almost non-existent. As for durability, I've not yet put on enough miles to make a note, but they feel as if they will last. I have already recommended to several people.
Best bang for buck shocks
07 street bob, put the 13.5 Inch standards on. Huge improve in ride quality and ride height. If you dont have 1000$ laying around for shocks like me, get these. No more scraping in corners.

I haven't installed the shocks yet due to the weather here in the north east is still a ? But as for the product, very well built. they came with a scissor style spanner wrench and lube. I got the 12" because they don't come in 12.5" with the full cover. I will do a full review when I have taken them for a few test rides.
They work great and easy installation, rise is much more smoother and don't really feel the bumps anymore, love them perfect bang for your buck

Great shocks for 2003 dyna lowrider.
The shocks gave me the clearance I needed to not bottom out every where I go. The fit a 2003 dyna lowrider great. Only have a few hundred miles on them so far, but they are far better than the stock suspension.

Comfortable. I take my girlfriend on the bike a lot still and the shocks feel great. Much comfier than stock and again I needed to get some 14s for wheelies. Can't beat 'em for the price. Feels the same as my buddies bike w legends. That being said I'm only 160lbs? I can see a heavier person wanted either a better shock, or atleast the heavy duty version of these

I installed the shocks on my ‘95 FXDWG for those that may need the reference. My motorcycle handles and feels much better on the road. Great product!
Unbelievable difference, I'm on a 95 wide glide. Every September I ride the Appalachian mountains. These shocks made for a completely better-safer ride. I'm always loaded with luggage. Tail of the dragon was so much better

Perfect, When You order shocks with Heavy Duty Springs, Make sure that You need Heavy Duty Springs.. Nearly a Rigid.. Great for My pack Mule.
I am very happy with these very nice fit and quality. My bike is not a cruiser but I do ride 2 up a good bit and these allow us to ride much longer.

I bought these shocks for my Husband for his birthday. He was happy to receive them... but once he installed them on his bike he was elated. The black gives the bike a whole new look. But the best part is after he went for a ride he came home and he said it was the most comfortable ride he has ever had. For the price you are paying these are some Damn good shocks.

Good for the price
Put these on my 2012 street bob just as a cheaper slammed shock. They look awesome and the bike sat exactly where I wanted but are very harsh with the 11. Not good for long trips with big bumps.

These are great and affordable. Also they look great and completely change the feel of the bike. Just a heads up that I wasnt aware of, make sure your exhaust dosint get in the way because there alot bigger then stock. And depending on size you get your probably gonna want to change kickstand, your bikes gonna lean more or less. 13.5 is perfect fit for me, going for the club style look.

as noted the black ones do have a bottom skirt, even though the product pics and even the review doesn't show it. really messed up the bobber look so guess I'll have to spend the the extra $35 for the tool plus shipping, time and labor. next time I'm going with the burley brand.
Second time ordering these shocks and not disappointed. Offer a comfortable ride and easy to install. Would recommend if looking to replace OEM parts.

I love the shocks. Its like riding a new motorcycle. They look great and were easy to install. The ordering is a bit misleading, because it asked if I wanted one or two. Naturally, I said two, because it didn't specify. It was misleading because it didn't explain that they are sold in pairs, so I ended up with two pairs. Fortunately my friend needed new shocks for his 2002 Dyna Wide glide, so he bought them from me and saved me the trouble of sending a pair back. So be careful when ordering. Aside from that, it couldn't have been better.

These shocks are very comfortable and very easy to adjust zero complaints and would highly recommend. My stock shocks were making form the first day I got the bike but after putting these on I understand how it’s supposed to ride. If you are thinking about getting a shock get these and definitely get the 13 inch because the height helps allot in corners
Firm and planted ride. No bottoming out issues
The old shocks had 90thousand miles on them go into a dip you felt like you were on water dack wheel hadn't grip to the road these new ones made for a more controlled ride made the worn out back tire run like new

Seems to help more at slow speeds, but still getting kidney punched at highway speeds. Possibly they will break in and do more, but definate improvement from stock

The shocks finally arrived they seem perfect for my application.<br />Install was fine I had to modify my pipes but it wasn't to tough.<br />The longer stiffer progressives may be just the ticket did a test ride seemed ok.<br />Will ride some more and let ya know

Look good and work good. The note warning of the possible need to cut the rear fender on FXDWGs should be more available when looking at the add. I didn't have too but I have them set at the stiffest setting and I don't ride passengers.

Unbelieveable
These shocks totally changed my 2010 Wide Glide! I really didn't know how horrible the stock shocks were until I upgraded to Progressive. There arw more expensive shocks out there but honestly, How good of a ride can you get? As far as I am concerned you can't get any better. These shocks are one of the best upgrades I have made to my bike.
These shocks greatly improved the ride on my bike.
Seem to work well. Made a big difference on the heavy bumps, don't jar the back like the stock shocks.

Coming from 8 in shocks to stock to these. What a difference. Allows me to ride of curbs no problem. (Not recommended) but these shocks are. Giving em a 4 cause I know those piggyback shocks are stellar. But for the price these are the way to go

Much improved ride and handling.<br />Couldn't get my covers over the top eyes of the shocks. Had to grind a little off the covers to fit. The covers fit fine over the 11" 412 shocks I had on before. These 12" shocks have poor welds on the eyes. Hope the welds don't break.

Bottomed out the tire inner fender a couple times with stock shocks. Trashed my wiring. Replaced with Progressive heavy duty shocks and the ride has been great, no more shredded wiring.

Suprisingly great ride
I really dont think you will find a better shock for the money. I was also really impressed with the ride quality of my wifes Dyna after I installed these. Even on our jacked up Alaskan roads with me riding. I didnt need to clearance anything but I did adjust the belt.
Very easy to put on, just have lift the bike up a little bit, shocks come on lowest setting so you have to adjust them very easy to do made the world of difference with my daughter on the back

Easy to install, resulted in a much smoother, compliant ride. Relatively easy to adjust although the included spanner wrench was easily bent.
Progressive 412 11 inch shocks on Dyna Street Bob
Gave me the exact look i was going for on my bike, slightly lowering the rear end. The ride feels similar to stock maybe a slight bit better.
I should have bought these shocks sooner. They lowered my bike enough that my feet reach the ground without having to move up on the seat. I can actually push the bike back into a parking space. The ride is smooth even on the beat up roads around town.

Easy installation on my '15 Street Bob! These things look much better than the stock chrome since my bike is blacked out and the ~1" lowering looks even better, too! The exact look I was hoping for.<br />As for the ride, I haven't adjusted pre-load on the springs but they don't feel too far off from stock, even on some pretty terrible streets, though I tend to use my bike for local rides 90% of the time. I would definitely recommend these!

Pretty good shocks. The lowest pre-load setting is useless, I'm on the middle now and haven't bottomed out as of yet. I have about 400 miles on them in town driving and some interstate. They ride a little better than stock.

The Progressive 412 shocks fit my '96 Harley Dyna WG perfectly. The bike rear end in now much more lively so I feel less of the road bumps in my lower back. Excellent results. Thanks.

Great shock for the price
Cant beat the way this shock rides for 300$. World of difference over the OEM shocks in cornering. Have no clue about durability yet but I have a set of 412s from a streetglide also with 3k on them and they dont show the slightest sign of wear.

Nice but to soft. I put them on an 04 superglide. I'm 5'9 165lb and run them in the stiffest setting and are still a little soft ridding solo. Would be nice to have a tad more adjustment especially for two up. These might be best for a sportster and do the heavy duty version on all other dynas
Lowered the bike just enough to make it comfortable for me to sit flat footed. No negative impact in ride quality and they look great

2014 fxdwg lowed bike 1.5-2" no clearance issues so far. A bit of a rough ride but I like having the stiffer Springs so ther is less chance of bottoming out with a passenger on back. Looks good lowerd.

Great shocks. I'm 200lbs and the ride is perfect. When my wife rides I don't have to adjust the preload and the bike handles perfect. I also replaced the front springs with the Progressive ones. I recommend doing them both.
Correct fit for bike. Good quality and ride. Only detracting factor was cosmetics, weld spatter under powder coat at mounts. Rag snaggers.

Very stiff unless u adjust them out of the box. But it is very nice to have easily adjustable shocks.

Great shocks! Really handles the bumps well! My only complaint is, the spanner wrench that comes with the shocks is cheap and bends very easily when you try to adjust the shocks. They need to include a better spanner wrench with rubberized ends so the paint does not scratch. Be sure to wrap a cloth around the end of the wrench so you don't scratch up the paint on the shocks.

Got these shocks for my '97 FXDWG. I live in New England where the roads are bumpy and pot holes are everywhere. I and my wife are a ride weight of about 450 together; they shocks can take more. These have really improved her comfort and the handling of the bike. Also the install was a breeze.

Great shocks! I ordered 1" shorter than stock to lower my FXDWG a little. These shocks are much better than stock.
Installed on a 2000 FXDL. HD shocks allow for no preload on for a solo 210lb rider. Excellent fit and finish.

First thing is first: Great shocks. I love them and they are a marked improvement over the stock shocks. However, if you are going to ride 2 up, go ahead and get the Heavy Duty (HD). Hell, if you weigh 220+ by yourself, by the HD. If you do buy these and decide that you want the HD shocks later on down the road, all you have to do is mail these to Progressive and they will throw the HD springs on there. After all, the only difference is the spring rate. It cost about 30 dollars for shipping and 15-30 dollars to put the new springs on. Or, you can order the springs and put them on yourself.

Excellent buy, ordered 11 inch but should have ordered the 10.5 because I wanted a little drop, but the ride is a ton smoother than the factory shocks so I think I'll stay with these for a while.
Easy to install, fit perfectly on my 2009 FXDC. Lowered my bike and kept a reasonably smooth ride 2-up.
Great shock, great price. These aren’t the most expensive shocks out there, and when you read all the technologies in the higher end shocks, it may seem like that’s the way to go. I ride hard, and my 412’s always give me at least twice as many miles as stock HD shocks.

I've used these shocks on two different bikes and they are great. They will lower your Dyna by two inches and lower your Lowrider by one inch. They are a little stiff if you are riding solo.
Excelent finnish on product. Great packing, it arrived without a flaw. I the first few miles I notice a metalic scraping during shock movment. I eliminated it by pushing the upper skirt inwards. It was evidentally rubbing on the spring. I haven't noticed any more noise in the few hundred miles I now have on them. Running on the second to softest setting they are smooth and seldom bottom out.
