Best assembly lube that I have not had a chance to use yet
I haven’t used it yet, but they asked me for a review a couple of days after receiving it so here it goes: the bottle is extraordinarily cylindrical!
Red Line parts and accessories are stocked at Vtwinbikers for Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle applications. Every Red Line item we list is new and sourced through authorized distribution. If you are not certain a part matches your year and model, use Shop by Bike or email our team before you order and we will confirm fitment first.
Red Line Assembly Lube is a high-film-strength lubricant specifically formulated to protect critical engine internals during the crucial initial assembly and break-in phase of V-twin motorcycles. Unlike conventional assembly greases, this specialized lube will not clog oil filters after start-up, ensuring immediate and safe engine operation.
When rebuilding or assembling a Harley-Davidson or Indian Motorcycle engine, the first moments after startup are the most critical for component wear. Red Line Assembly Lube provides an essential layer of protection, coating camshafts, lifters, piston skirts, and bearings with a robust film that withstands initial loads before oil pressure fully builds. Its unique formula ensures superior lubrication without the risk of plugging your oil filter, a common issue with traditional assembly lubes.
Using Red Line Assembly Lube means you can build your V-twin engine with greater confidence, knowing that key wear surfaces are protected from the very first rotation. This 4 oz bottle is perfect for single engine builds or smaller projects, ensuring that every critical component from the valvetrain to the crankshaft is pre-lubricated for a smooth, safe start to its operational life. It's a small investment for long-term engine health.
What parts should I coat with assembly lube?
Apply Red Line Assembly Lube to camshafts, lifters, pushrods, piston skirts, main and rod bearings, and bolt threads before engine assembly.
Will this assembly lube clog my oil filter when the engine starts?
No, Red Line Assembly Lube is specifically formulated to disperse into the engine oil without clogging oil filters, ensuring immediate and proper oil flow.
When should I use assembly lube instead of regular engine oil?
Assembly lube is used during engine assembly or rebuilds to provide critical lubrication to components before oil pressure builds. Regular engine oil is for ongoing lubrication once the engine is running.

So different from my Torco and permatex assembly lubes. New lube was really thin and milky looking, didn't use!
