Silver mirrored is very cool, but night riders beware

I got the silver mirrored variant so I can enjoy some privacy inside of my helmet, and in general I am satisfied with it.<br /><br />I was hoping it wouldn't be too dark to ride with at night, but it is. If you're riding through town where there's lots of lights it'll probably be fine, but as soon as you get out onto an unlit road it is straight up dangerous. I will carry some clear glasses or my clear visor in my tank bag for SAFE nighttime riding.

Looks amazing

Highly recommend. Got the mirror gold and it's as described, mirror on the outside yet you can still see clearly even at night. I can still use the drop down sun visor without it being too dark. <br />Durability is like other mirrored visors, scratches easily so make sure to use a soft and clean microfibre while cleaning. <br />Was difficult to install because you couldn't see the pins through the mirror but just practise with the clear visor beforehand.

Ruby Mirrored

This isnt a full review of the visor but more about insight on the color; It says Ruby Mirrored which I think is kinda confusing for people because most would think Ruby is red. Rubies are red but some have a purplish hue. The visor color would fit into the purplish hue for sure. I dig it due to it being different from my other visors like clear, dark smoke, silver mirrored, gold mirror, and spectra fire orange. The quality of the visor is good but not as great as shoei's (isnt as expensive as well). The install isn't too difficult but I do find all mirrored visors difficult in general since you cant see where the insert hinge is unless you have a bright light. I would suggest practicing with the clear visor to get reference points. I haven't had any scratches or nicks but I also ceramic coated it which increases durability without compromising its optics. Speaking of optics, no distortions at all. The tint seems to block 40-75% of light so you could get away with riding after sunset but I would never suggest riding with any tinted visor of any kind at night. <br /><br />Would I buy this again? Yes, but I also have multiple helmets and this isnt my daily go to as I prefer dark smoke visors. This ruby mirror is flashy for sure.

These are fine. Honestly, not super easy to switch out and you really need to be super careful not to let it bump into anything because they'll scratch very easily, and that sucks.

Silvered mirrored

Similar to the "dark smoke" in terms of visibility but it has a moderate tint but not overly my sunglasses are darker, incredibly reflective can see through if you get close, will smudge easily but cleans just as fast. Wish there was a pin lock version. Definitely highlights this helmet. I hope to see more mirrored colors in the future.

Deceiving and not as pictured

My honest review: when I first opened the box, I noticed it looked NOTHING like all the pics online (from ANY source), which was SUPER disappointing. I called to make sure THIS was the correct one and they assured me it was. He also suggested putting it on the helmet as it'll look different on it. So I did, and, yes, it looks better on but it's still NOTHING like any pics I've seen. It's definitely NOT fully mirrored.. Meaning.. If it's sunny, you will be squinting and people will be able to see your eyes through it, unlike my other mirrored visors that ARE fully mirrored/tinted.<br />.<br />Do I still like it, yes. Was it being advertised properly online? in my opinion, no.

Tint too light

It's still see through from outside looking in and not true "dark smoke". It doesn't really protect your eyes from the sun that much either I wish they made it darker overall.

Overpriced

The tint is barely noticeable and it's extremely see-through. There's no pin-lock tab either. Why is it so expensive??

Satisfied with the visor

These shields are a bit thinner that what comes with the helmet in clear, but they are mirrored pretty well from all angles. From a distance it is completely mirrored. Faceshield came on and off in like two minutes with the EXO quick release system on side.

Ruby color is not exactly as pictured in marketing photos and other customer photos.

The Ruby is more red than I've seen in other photos but still like it. Fits fine and its easy to swap.

Went with the Gold visor. Love the looks on the carbon ST1400

Oh snap I thought my ST1400 Carbonfiber Caffeine looked good before, but with the silver mirrored face shield it looks 10x better & Perfect fit of course

Not pinlock

The mirror shields are very light and not true mirror. They are also not pinlock. How is a shield almost $70 and not pinlock.

A little much for a visor

I have the gold mirrored visor. Easy to drop in and install. Finish is fine. Price is a bit much for what it is. People seem to struggle with the latch but I'm just gonna say it I think it must be user error cause I find the latch on the R1-Air to be very easy to use. Can't speak for the other helmets this visor fits but I assume the latch system must be similar if not the same. Tint is slight but I can actually still have ok visibility at night. The finish has held up well to debris and bugs so far. No pinlock on the mirrored version which is a shame.

Got the silver and it's great. I can use it in well lit areas at night too but you got to be careful once in neighborhood you can't really see pedestrian

Great visor

I bought the gold mirror and I'm glad I did! I get super clear vision, sometimes wondering if I even have the visor down. I was worried that I would just see gold every where but that's not the case. I do wish that the visor did better during sunset with the sun hitting my eyes but it's my own fault for not owning a helmet with a drop down visor.

Dark enough

I ordered the dark smoke shield with my helmet and while not completely black it’s dark enough to keep you from squinting. My only gripe is it’s a little finicky to switch the shields out but I’m getting better at it. Totally makes the helmet look badass.

Color not as advertised.

Ordered "Ruby" mirrored lens. Looks more like amethyst purple. No pinlock either.

Good Dark Smoke Visor, Fair Price

I got the dark smoke visor. As you can see, it's pretty dark in average lighting. I would assume it's a bit lighter outdoors in direct sunlight but I'm the middle of winter in the Northeast so I don't got much light rn. I'm happy with it, & the price seems pretty fair.

Bought the silver mirrored visor and as you can see it barely is mirroed. Maybe it's cause the helmet itself is still on its way but from what i see now it has little to no reflectiveness. I will still use it as I don't wanna spend another 64 bucks but don't belive all of these other reviews. idk why theirs look so much better.

It's a nice visor. I was expecting it to be super red though since it is advertised as RUBY Mirrored. It's more purple (ish) than red. It works great though. Fits the helmet perfectly.

Very low quality thin, flexible

This is a very low end product. Plastic is very thin and bends when opening and closing the visor. Nowhere near the sturdiness of the visor that came on the helmet. Being a Scorpion product and the high price, I was expecting way more or at least comparable to original. Also has no pins for and insert fog visor.

Visors need attention.

Visors work as advertised but none of the "mirrored" visors are fully "mirrored" like they advertise and like other visors? I emailed Scorpion support directly to ask which shield is the most mirrored and least see through and I got no reply. It's been over a month? so if you really enjoy privacy when you ride. This may not be the helmet simply due to all the visors being see through.

Shield itself was fine. The Scorpion helmet I purchased has an inadequate locking system to keep it secure. Customer Service for Scorpion was unresponsive.I will never purchase another Scorpion.

Not as dark as I thought it would be

Fits well, not nearly as dark as I thought it'd be. I have the ST1400 and if I put the internal sunvisor down with the dark smoke visor, it's the tint level I thought this would be. Gave it four stars for the fit but took a star off for the level of tint. Not a bad visor but beware is more of a "light" smoke but does look pretty dark from the outside so if you're looking for something that looks and fits great but you don't have to worry about being "too" dark, this is for you.

Not a dark tint

Not happy with it. Its still see thru and its more of a light tint.

I love this helmet. Upgraded from an Arai Regent X and man what a difference. This helmet is noticeably lighter and more comfortable. The field of view is incredible, I'm using my peripherals way more it feels.

I got the silver mirrored but I do have one complaint, there is no pins for pinlock, I knew this buying it(which is why I put 5 stars) however since this is the only visor for my helmet in this color I could find I figured I would leave this feedback so hopefully it could be improved

Looks great

Does what it's supposed to do. The mirroring seems a little fragile, like it would come off easily if scratched. So I've been really careful but otherwise, not bad.

Gold tint def helps take the glare off and still easy to see.

It's Not Blue/Purple

The shield is five stars, but I'm giving it four because it is NOT a blue/purple (which is what I wanted) like the image on the website. It is more of a purple/red.

Blue version

The blue mirrored shield that I got really doesn't look like the pictures (in the listing OR in the other review photo). It looks like a smoke color that has been slightly tinted blue. I've had other Scorpion mirrored shields for a different helmet that looked nothing like this. Unfortunately I need a tinted shield for this weekend and don't have time to return it and get something else, so I'll make it work.

Not perfect, but looks great.

It looks great but is sensitive to touch, oils, wiping. Anytime I?d touch the lens with ungloved hands it would leave a smudge that seemed to leave irreversible discoloration. Nothing terrible, but annoying to anyone with OCD? I also had a microfiber wipe to clean it with and it just seemed like it was waiting to be scuffed or scratched.<br /><br />As a plus, it provided the right amount of tint for bright days. And if you?re curious it looked grey from the inside.

Got the gold mirrored shield, i love the color, the fit and finish is perfect, installation was a breeze, would definitely recommend!

A must have

A must have for any helmet. I love the sun protection these tinted visors provide for helmets. The drop down sunglasses on most helmets just don't cut it.

No red at all

Ordered the ruby red and it came in today. Nowhere near red. More like a soft pink. Definitely don't recommend this unless thats the color you want.

Not Very Clear

I love the color even though its more pinkish purple. I thought ruby was more red. Some may want it to be. So it doesn’t have any red in it. The quality isn’t great. It gives everything a little warped effect. It’s not too bad and doesn’t impair my vision.

I purchased the gold mirrored face shield and it looks SIIICK! Unfortunately, it is not fog resistant nor is it capable for a fog shield insert. Other than that I am happy with my purchase.

It’s what you think it is. The silver mirror tint isn’t too dark at twilight, but helps a ton when sunny outside.
