Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a tube-type or tubeless tire?

Tube-type (TT). You will need an inner tube sized for 4.19x50-18. Do not install on a tubeless rim.

What's the difference between blackwall and whitewall?

Blackwall is all black. Whitewall has a white sidewall stripe for a classic look. Choose whitewall if your bike has white-wall tires originally.

How long do these tires typically last?

The nylon carcass and bias-ply construction deliver extended wear. Actual mileage depends on riding style, inflation, and road conditions.

Can I use these on the front and rear?

Yes — the Shinko 270 is approved for both front and rear positions (F/R designation).

Do I need new inner tubes?

Strongly recommended. Old tubes can crack and cause leaks. Order new tubes sized 4.19x50-18 when you buy these tires.

Great classic tire for the price.

Didn't want to get the firestones because I dont want to pay a high price for a low performing tire.

If you want to rock tires like this, you probably know what you are getting into, they arent going to perform like a modern tire.

They look cool as hell. Compared to a modern tire, they somehow make your bike look lowered, as the balooning puts less space between front tire and frame.

Also, mainly writing this review so harley people know: a 4.00 19 will absolutely fit on a mid glide front end for a sporty, and it looks cool as hell.

Bang for the Buck

If you're looking for a cheap vintage-style tire, this is pretty much your only option. Lateral grip feels a little 'wishy-washy', but these are still pretty shreddable depending on the size of your beans. Seem like they'll hold up to about the standard mileage. Did I mention they look good on choppers?

Cool look

Just put these on a yamaha bolt with
spoke wheels. They look great but riding them at speeds over 70mph is a little dicey
