Great seat for us shorter folks
I am 5'4" and ride a 2011 Road King Classic. I have already lowered the bike front and rear. Reaching the ground was a problem. This seat has the perfect seat height. I can now flat foot my feet when I stop. The seat is well made with just enough padding. It is a firm seat. I did a 400 mile weekend ride with no problems. I can only imagine that it will get better as it wears and breaks in. It also gives the bike a great slammed look. Simple and clean. For the price it beats any other lowering, reach type seat hands down.
It is a good seat
I got some Butt time on this seat this weekend. It is comfy and does give you that feel of being more in the bike than on top of the bike. I bought the seat for 2 factors. #1 was to reduce seat height overall and #2 was already mentioned. I wanted to have more of that cruiser feeling of being lower in the bike. For me I did not feel that the seat made that much of a difference on reach to the ground. I think the stock road glide seat is a touch slimmer. But if you need a inch to be flat footed. Then this seat will do the trick.

As for fitment. It was not perfect. Not saying it is worse than other aftermarket seats, But there should be a little more thought in designing it. For my seat i had a hard time getting the groove to slide in to place. It required a lot of downward force to get it in and once i did, it was off center to the right a little. Danny Gray should carve out the section a little wider to make a easier fit.
Good lower back support
Received this seat, install was quick and easy..the seat is well made and fit my FLHT (Electra Glide Standard) perfectly, and I feel that it enhances the look of the bike...however the seat did not move me down, but did however move me forward about 1/2" ...My first ride was a 300 mile day trip. the seat does have good back support, and keeps me in a riding position that I found comfortable...Note: this seat might not be for people who are looking for a plush cushioned type ride, it is a firm seat, but looks better, and is a lot more comfortable than the low profile OEM solo seat that came with the bike.......I'll keep it, it works well for me.
Really happy....
I did purchase this for my 2013 FLHR , went on super easy, the two things I will say is first , it did sit lower than stock , but not 2 inches lower more like an inch , I am 56 And sit flat foot now with this seat. The second is when I first put it on , it was a little stiff, but after riding it for 2 hours , it seem to break in and become super comfortable . All in all I am super happy with the purchase , looks awesome
The seat is overall a good looking seat with real leather.
However, the fiberglass whole that is designed to fit the tongue on the bike was off center and that left the seat a little off center in the front. Also, the hole for the solo pillion seat where it mounts to the solo seat was about an 1/2" short. I had to take the T- shape mount and grind off the holes that mounted to the bike. It finally fit after about 45 min. of work.
I expected to have a seat that would hook right up without difficulties since it was from the great Danny Gray! I think that Gray is going for quantity and is forgetting about quality! Overall I'm stuck with the seat now and would suggest others to shop around.
This seat seemed like it was going to be uncomfortable but surprisingly enough it was very comfortable for a solo seat. There was also mention of something about “holding you in the seat whenever you ride”. We were riding on a really windy day and I will be darned if it didn’t seem like I stayed more in the seat. I waited till I had some riding time before I did the review for the seat - I really like it. Makes the bike look good too. Overall, I don’t think I could have made a better choice on a solo seat than this one.
I would recommend this seat to anyone, will be ordering passenger seat real soon
this seat is amazing. I am small and had problems getting my feet flat on the ground when on my road glide. looked at many seats and am so glad i chose this one. It only lowererd me about an inch but the real difference was the width. With this seat being about 1 1/2 to 2 inches smaller in width,it doesnt force my legs outward like the factory seat did. This and burly 101/2 shocks put my feet flat on the ground. that was the purpose I bought it for, but now for the seat itself, It is so much better than factory seat. It is leather, puts you in the bike instead of on it, Cant explain that, its something you just have to feel. It is also much better on my lower back.
Best seat ever. My husband loves this seat. He uses it when riding solo. More comfortable than oe seat . also easy to switch back ad forth.
Bought the Danny Gray SpeedCradle Solo Seat for my Street Glide. It puts me in a better position and is more comfortable than the stock seat. I think it looks great too. I’m very happy with the purchase.
The seat is perfect for me im 5"8" and can sit flatfooted finally.
Worth it
Way more comfortable than the stock seat. Brought me forward but it didn?t really feel like it brought me lower to the ground. Nice look too. Was a little hard to get installed. It?s simple install but hard to get the front of the seat onto the bike.
Loved it .... great customer customer service
Loved the seat. ..... but it wasn?t a fit for me. I ride a Road King and every inch counts !!
I Had to return it ! And I must say the customer service of THE BEST I HAVE EVER experienced!
This seat was exactly what I was looking for and did what it said it would. I bought this seat for my wife in order to bring her more forward and lower and that’s what it did! This seat has helped her have more control of her bike. She loves it!
Comfort for daily and day rides. Not sure of touring but that?s not design for it.
Found seat to be a little to firm.
Other than that, Great buy
very comfortable seat
