High Quality Product - Good Choice for me...
I use my Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle cover to help protect my 2013 BMW S1000RR motorcycle. I also own a 2011 BMW F800GS, which is covered with a BMW (OEM) cycle cover. The former is a new purchase, while the latter is now nearing its second birthday, so in fairness, I haven't had the Dowco Guardian product long enough to speak authoritatively about its durability or longevity. Let me also say that I'm extremely fortunate to be able to house my bikes in a covered, muti-story residential parking structure, parked inconspicuously behind my SUV, which means that they're shielded from direct sunlight, rain, wind, and traffic debris/hazards. My primary purpose in covering my bikes at all is DUST MITIGATION: I live in an extremely hot, extremely dusty/sandy urban desert area, where dust and sand particles are in a constant battle to displace nitrogen and oxygen as the leading components in the air! Hence, my motorcycle cover needs are admittedly perhaps not as demanding as those of you forced by circumstance to leave your lovely machines out on the curbside or in the parking lot, fighting wind and snow and rain, year in and year out. So, I will offer the following observations:<br />1. Each cover (both the BMW (OEM) cover and the Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus cover) are decent - quite satisfactory for my particular needs;<br />2. The Dowco cover is made of a heavier weight material than the BMW (OEM) cover, which presumably might be advantageous in a harsh environment over the long run;<br />3. The Dowco cover uses an elasticized waistband to effect a secure fit around your cycle tires, where the BMW (OEM) cover utilizes a drawstring arrangement. In practice, I find advantages and disadvantages with BOTH styles: the Dowco elasticized waist is convenient, as it doesn't require fiddling with the dirty drawstring+plastic grommet arrangement of the BMW (OEM) cover. On the other hand, when fully loosened, the drawstring+plastic grommet arrangement of the BMW (OEM) cover allows easier, faster and potentially safer installation and removal (i.e. less frequently snagging a mirror, footpeg, or scraching a painted surface with what will eventually be at least a slightly dusty, dirty cover INTERIOR surface, particularly at and around the waistband, which is in contact with your tires, and very near the pavement surface). Not really a big deal, in my opinion, but make no mistake, the drawstring+grommet arrangement (as with the BMW (OEM) cover), once fully loosened, does allow somewhat faster, easier putting on and taking off of the cover, versus the elasticized waistband style of the Dowco cover;<br />4. BOTH the Dowco and the BMW (OEM) covers have eyelets on their waistbands, allowing use of optional locking devices;<br />5. The silver "metalicized" heat-shield paneling of the Dowco cover was and is an attractive (i.e practical) feature for me (allowing me to cover my S1000RR immediately after riding, when it's still very hot), although I will point out that this heat-shielding does not extend very high up the cover, so, while it is fine for the low-slung (OEM) exhaust pipe on the RR, it would not be effective (and therefore, would not be appropriate) as a cover for motorcycles with high-mounted mufflers (like my F800GS). Note that the BMW (OEM) covers have no heat shielding at all - they're not to be placed on hot bikes;<br />6. Sizing: after much research and review, I chose "Size: LARGE" for my Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus cover, hoping that it would cover my ENTIRE BMW S1000RR, including the wheels and tires (my bike is mostly stock OEM, with the exception of a Zero Gravity "Corsa" windscreen, which adds an inch or two in height, and a few other small items (like rear sets and axle sliders) which have no affect on mass or girth). I am VERY HAPPY with my "size L" choice, versus the Dowco recommended "Sport Bike" size, which is smaller. My preference was for a cover which would COMPLETELY cover and conceal the bike, right down to the ground (without any baggy slop or "droop" on top), and that's exactly what I got with the "Size L" fitted over my BMW S1000RR: when fully installed, the elasticized waistband of my cover rests just a couple of mm's off the the pavement, FULLY covering the tires and wheels (which, though contrary to the image on the Dowco website [which shows a mid-wheel positioning], is just what I wanted), and the top and sides are semi-taught, like a tent, not resting on the tank seat, or hot engine/frame. Perfect!<br /><br />With the possible exception of SIZING miscalculations, it's difficult for me to imagine any rider being unhappy with the Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle cover. It seems to me to be a quality product, quite capable and satisfying in fulfilling its intended purpose.<br /><br />DM
Fantastic cover
I purchased another brand cover that faded and the taped seams came off in just 3 months of use. In South Florida it rains daily in the summer and the UV and sun is very harsh. My experience with this cover has been perfect to say the least. 1 year of use and there is zero fade or degradation of any kind. I do not have a garage and my bike sits out side 24/7 no mater what kind of weather. This cover vents well and will not trap moisture under it. It rains and the gets very steamy here right after but his cover has protected my bike perfectly. The stitching is perfect after a year of use and abuse. The protective heat resistant lining over the pipe area lets me throw it over relatively hot exhaust after 5-10 minutes of parking the bike. I am always looking for the next best thing out there but honestly I have not once felt the need to find a better cover because honestly there is not one !<br />Thank you for an excellent product that already has more then paid for itself by keeping my bike in perfect condition for over a year and the way it looks, for many more years to come.
Great product which makes you notice the tiny flaws
The XL fits great on my NC700X with saddlebags and trunk. It will only come down to below the license plate with the trunk on there, but it's sufficient for keeping the rain and mild weather off of it. While it's quick drying, I almost wish it were quicker...a few times I've had to take it inside the apartment to dry out while I'm at work because it was still a bit damp from the night's rain. My biggest complaint (which is admittedly tiny) is that while they put thought and effort into making the heat resistant parts of it (the silver) enable you to put the cover on immediately after riding...the strap that cinches it up is just regular nylon and can't handle the heat. So you still have to remember to go back out later to cinch it up and secure it. How hard/costly would it have been to include a 3 foot strap of heat-resistant material?
Dowco cover
This is a good cover, seems to be good to repel water. Have owned two others in the past. Always been a good cover. xtra large fits good over my vtx with a windshield and bags.
Weathered the New England Winter of 2015
I purchased my bike at the end of last season and was in need of all things gear, including a quality cover. My bike is outside during the riding months.<br /><br />If you know New England, this past winter was brutal and came upon us quickly. My bike (and I) were caught off guard as I was out of town, and she stayed covered outside all winter. When the snow melted, my baby (aka The Silver Bullet) was in perfect shape (minus the dead battery).<br /><br />This cover keeps the moisture out and is vented along with a hefty strap and clip to secure it in windy conditions. I live close to the ocean. The wind can be strong and long lasting, so this was an important feature for me. It has reflective panels too, which is a key feature I was looking for.<br /><br />I got a large for my bike (R1150R with short windshield). It is an excellent fit both with my hard bags on or off. The bottom of the cover has a very strong almost bungee-like gather so it hugs your bike, no matter the shape.
Excellent purchase
I live in Jerusalem Israel, we don't have a lot of choices of gear here so when I had the chance to buy this cover in America I did. The day I got it we had a 3 day sand storm that was unbelievable. Sand gets everywhere during one of these even for one day but Three... I expected as usual to find my bike ready for a good cleaning but it was not necessary. My new Dowco Guardian Weatherall lived up to its name. Beyond that its is very durable, the super strong elastic lining at the bottom keeps it in place and the many stray cats that roam the Old City that usually like to sleep on my bike seat at night now cannot get in. A real plus. The only negative is the hole in the cover to put the chain through (my last cover got stolen) is only in the front. I have a Piaggio MP3 and the double wheels in the front prohibit me from putting the chain through the front wheels so I am putting the cover on backwards. Seems ok but if they put this hole in both the front and the back it would give more flexibility.<br />I highly recommend this product.
Works well enough
Fits over my 2009 250r Ninja quite well.<br /><br />Kind of a pain with it always trying to catch on the turn signals/grips/mirrors etc, but that's not the fault of the cover.<br /><br />I have to fold the mirrors in for the cover to fit well.<br /><br />Rated 4/5 for durability because when I first got it a few months ago water would slick right off the cover and bead up instantly, but after 3 months of use (with rain almost every night) -- the water tends to puddle a tiny bit more.<br /><br />Still doesn't soak through, and it keeps the bike dry but I digress.<br /><br />Recommended for the price. Protect your investment.
A Great Cover
My old cover ripped at the seams from where the stiching went bad - UV wear and tear. No big deal. I didn't expect much from the new one. It's just a bike cover.<br /><br />Dowco does a size for ADV motorcycles and that's what I got for my new R1200GS. It's really great, more than I expected and the fit and finish was perfect. It won't fit over the top box, but will cover the hard side cases. Maybe it looks so good because the old one was worn and ripped? I'm impressed with the product. An excellent value. And I know it will hold up - my old Dowco cover went FIVE years on and off OUTSIDE before it finally wore out.<br /><br />This cover offers excellent protection all the way down to the rims and I would recommend it to anyone who wants complete coverage for a larger size adventure bike.
Survived hurricane Matthew
Title says it all. This cover protected my son's bike in Savannah during hurricane Matthew. Amazingly, the bike was still standing (not a benefit of the cover, I realize) and the cover was intact (a benefit of the cover).<br /><br />For sizing, the L fir a Yamaha VStar 650 just fine. It had saddle bags but no wind screen.
The last cover you need to buy
My Dowco cover has served me well for over 10 years. However it eventually started to come apart at one of the seams. Remembering that it had a lifetime warranty, I contacted Dowco and told them what was happening. They responded back and said they would be happy to replace it under warranty. Filing out their online RMA form, paying a 10 dollar shipping fee, sending them the tag and a cut out portion of the cover where it was coming apart (much easier than sending the entire cover plus patching the hole with tape allowed me to continue to use it), a week later I received a brand new cover. Excellent customer service!!
Durable and effective protection.
Perfect fit, east to get on and off. Durable materials. Well designed.I got Dowco cover to replace the Dowco that I have used for over 10 years! In all kinds of weather it protected my scooter and kept it in good shape.
Cheap glue used. The seam lining peeled off in the first few weeks of use.
Loved the price point, fit, fabric of this bike cover. The lining completely fell apart tho. I am curious to see how much longer the cover stayed stitched together without it.
Returned it, wrong size.
Returned it because it didn?t fit. Since youre emailing me asking for a review, the size guide could be a lot better. Why are you comparing cover size to gold wings. Seriously. There are a million harleys out there for every goldwing. Use something more relatable. Bought the right size elsewhere for 15 dollars less with shipping.<br /><br />For reference you need an Xl for a Harley road king.
XL is great for FJR1300. BUY BIG
Works great. Much more durable than the others I have purchased. BUY A SIZE OR TWO BIG. I Bought an XL for my FJR1300 and it covers it perfectly including the topcase. Covers all but the lower tires at that size. Buy even larger if you store it longterm and want the tires covered.
Look Elsewhere
After two years, this cover is literally coming apart at the seams. It also melted on relatively cool headers, so don't count too much on that feature. It spent it's entire life outside in Santa Barbara, CA. I imagine that the sun took the biggest toll on the cover, but since it's made to be outdoors, I think it would be reasonable that the cover last for longer. Now it rips a little more each time I used it. It's strange that so many of these outdoor covers have similar reviews! Why can't someone just make one that lasts longer?
Good Quality, Good Durability
This will be my second Dowco cover. The first was part of a bike/accessories purchase from the previous owner who stored it outdoors. It's been in constant outdoor use by me since 2015 and the LG fits my Kawasaki Vulcan Classic like a glove. Just bought my second one as a replacement and looking for a bunch more years of use.
Very high quality cover that fits like a glove
I couldn't be happier with this cover. It fits my 2018 Honda Rebel 500 like it was custom made for it. Based on other comments, I chose the "M" size for small cruisers. When I took it out of the box, I thought "no way this is going to fit, it's too small." Nope! Perfect fit. The elastic band on the bottom edge is beefy and makes the thing really snug on the bike. The material of the cover itself is thick and I can see this lasting a long time.
seams came off after 4 months
ordered this based on the great reviews and the reputation of the brand. however, only after 3-4 months the weather seams started detaching from the cover. i live in California where it has hardly rained and the weather has been very mild. very disappointed and expected more from a product that is nearly $100.<br /><br />on a positive note, the sport cover fit my r3 perfectly.
Don't pay for the alarm!!!
Cover is okay. Had to cut a trace on the circuit board to get the alarm to work.
Inner lining fell off and now leaves glue residue on mirrors and fairing.<br />Little bits of felt are left all over fairing, mirrors and handlebars.<br />Consistent rain will seep through soaking the seat and creating a moist encasing for the bike. <br />Not good for the price.
Great quality, would buy again despite a couple issues
I've had this a little over two years and overall I'm satisfied for my needs. I live near Boston, Mass. and this has held up to snow, wind, and heavy rain. I have a Harley Softail Deluxe with tall windscreen and hard saddlebags, and the XL fits well. To secure the strap under the bike you need to lay on the ground to snap the buckle, so I don't often use that - it's still held in place during strong winds. The vent is great, and the sides fit the bike well with room to spare. Very little sun damage for the amount of sun.<br /><br />A couple issues:<br />* The front of the cover doesn't stay over/around the front wheel - it keeps pulling up leaving the rim exposed. Could be due to my windscreen, but with a lot of extra fabric on the back wheel it seems the points set to fit handlebars could have been located further back to equally distribute fabric.<br />* Pollen easily gets under the cover and coats the bike. I know it can't be airtight and it's not a dust cover, but the amount of pollen that gets under is excessive.<br />* The tape on the seams started pulling off after about 1.5 yrs. The seams are still waterproof so far - never had a problem there. The bike + cover stayed outside last winter through blizzards and ice (I know, I know) and it kept the bike totally protected.<br /><br />I would buy this again if my current stops working. Best quality I've ever had.
Not very robust.
Bought 5/20/20 and the seam tape is falling off the inside leaving a residue on the bike. Pretty expensive to not even last one season. Warranty is going to require me to ship this back and wait 2+ weeks, so basically need to buy another cover in the meantime.
Absolute Best Cover I've Ever Had!
I don't have a garage so I put extensive research into buying the best cover, price not being an obstacle. I am so glad I chose this one! It has held up very well in all weather conditions and has protected my 2020 Iron 1200 very well. I highly recommend this cover!
Great Motorcycle Cover that survived NC severe weather!
2013 CBR 500R owner here from North Carolina. I've had this cover(sportbike model) for almost a year now. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex with a large outdoor lot. My bike needed protection from the elements. We get our fair share of severe storms every year around here. This cover has:<br /><br />- Survived two hail storms<br />- Survived heavy rain storms, with 30mph winds.<br />- Survived two tornadoes today (02/062020), my University's weather station recorded 60mph gusts.<br /><br />Each time I come home, I expect to see if tipped over, but the strap keeps the cover on really good I guess. The ONLY flaw is that there is only one tiny patch of Reflective Material on a corner of the cover. The rest of the cover is entirely black and almost impossible to see. Since it is apparently tornado proof, I suppose the only thing possible is that someone might hit it in the parking lot due to this flaw of a lack of Reflective Material. Hope this review helps someone out there!
Totally perfect !!!!!
I bought too many covers in the past but honestly, this one surprised me since I got it. The quality is super. I bought a size XL and covers totally my Suzuki V-strom 1000 with the Givi top case and both side cases on it.
FADED AFTER 1 WEEK OUTSIDE
NO EXAGGERATION. IT FADED TO LIGHT GRAY AFTER ONE WEEK. IT ALSO WORE SOME PAINT OFF MY TAIL WHEN I TOOK IT OFF AND PUT IT ON. THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MY FAULT BECAUSE I DRAGGED IT A BIT. BUT BE CAREFUL NOT TO DRAG IT ON THE BIKE TOO MUCH.
Seems like good quality materials, packs up decently small. Size md fits my 2017 rebel 500 perfect, even with sadle bags.
So far so good
i have a HD 1200c with a sissy bar and windshield. I got a L based on what the rep told me and it fits perfectly. It's easy to put on and take off. It seems to be made out of quality material as well. So far I'm impressed with the cover because it does exactly everything its supposed to. I will find out how waterproof it truly is since I have about 5 straight days of rain coming.
peace of mind is worth the cost
2009 Honda CBR600rr - Sport size fits awesome! So easy to get on and it STAYS ON, covering all the way down to the rubber.<br /><br />2005 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 - Large fits a bit snug, it covers the whole thing cept a little of the rims. I would go with a extra large if i did it again. but its the same great level of quality.<br /><br />As for contstruction, my selling point is the elastic at the base, which does an excellent job of keeping it on, but stretches really well so its easy to work with while puttin it on. No need for tie downs<br /><br />It also is a soft, yet durable material that doesnt scuff, and has an even softer material lining the spots where the cover will touch, like the tail and handlebars.<br /><br />If you want some peace of mind, get this cover.
Ok in light rain, but...
I live on an island (Japan), so needless to say it rains alot. On the days when it's just drizzling, this cover works just fine. When it really starts coming down though, you can expect to have to give your bike a wipe down the next day. Aside from having a plastic liner, I'm not sure it's possible to have a breathable cover that's completely water proof too. So all in all, it's a decent cover and unless you're in a really rainy area, it should work just fine.
Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle covers are the very best
I am a lifelong motorcyclist. Since 1989 my frontline motorcycles have lived outside during the riding months here in New England (mid-April to mid-November). During that last 35 years my bikes (all Ducatis, nice, new top shelf motorcycles) have lived under Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle covers. Over the years these bikes were not much worse for the wear considering the weather. I do buy a new cover most every year for the Ducati, the old covers then move to my vintage bikes which are in an open carport-ish affair (under a roof, but open to the weather on two sides). Then the covers end their life protecting my snowblower also in the carport.<br />There is no finer motorcycle cover available to protect your motorcycle from the elements, IMO. Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus motorcycle covers are the very best, ask anyone who has used one. I have owned at least 25 of these covers over the years, I buy nothing else.
Solid Cover for Your Bike
I have purchased this cover 3 times over 8 years on 3 different bikes. I'm on the third cover with three years of use so far. I use the adventure bike size on my Multistrada which has the short carbon screen (no panniers) and it fits perfectly for my liking. It covers both front and rear wheels completely. <br /><br />I park outside (no garage) =( and it holds up well. The outer part of the cover is has done a great job of resisting fading. My only complaint are the seal tapes of the interior side of the cover. The seal tape gets caught on handle bars, screen, brake/clutch reservoirs, and easily peels off when pulling the cover off and putting it on. I've never had any issues with water intrusion so I just remove the whole tape off. I'm sure this can be avoided by being cautious. <br /><br />I would give this cover my recommendation, especially if you park outside.
Not Happy with My New One
I had this cover on my bike for about 3 years. My adventure bike sits out in the weather as I have no garage to put it in. It held up great, but towards the end, it was full of burn holes from the hot exhaust, and the interior heat seals on the seams were falling off. I liked it, so I bought another one just like it. It fell apart within months. The cloth windshield cover on the interior tore, and the interior seams started separating. Also, after it rained, the bike would be soaked like it had no waterproofing at all. Guess it was hit and miss on the quality. i threw mine away and bought a different brand.
Cover
So far so good, keeps the bike dry, Indian scout bobber, cruiser size fit great.
This has gone through 2 hurricane seasons with my bike parked outside, and it's done a a great job.
Huge heavy duty
The Medium size fits my 2022 Svartpilen 401, but good lord it's a huge honkin' heavy-duty cover. The bag is 13"x8"x8" so make sure you know where to put it before buying. It would fill up an entire tank bag and then some.<br /><br />If you're looking for more of a security/inconspicuous cover look elsewhere for something thinner/lighter. It makes sense if you have lots of storage on your bike, or are using it as a garage in winter, but it's not the kind of thing you'll carry on a smaller bike.
Excellent cover
An excellent quality cover. Fits perfectly for my bike when following the size charts. I have had this for over a year of outdoor use and besides being a little dirty from being outside it is basically like new. I don't know how people can say that these covers ripped easily. That is probably from being careless when taking them off as with any cover it's easy to snag on things. It also has pouches on the inside for motorcycle alarms and clips to hold it closed as well as tie holes incase you want to use something else to keep it closed. My bike stays clean and shiny with this thing outside year round and not a single tear or loose stitching.
Great Cover
I've had a Dowco cover for my vintage Vespa that has held up outdoors perfectly for years so I purchased one for my 2009 Honda Shadow Spirit. The 'cruiser' size fits the Honda perfectly, including the windscreen. There is a soft piece inside the cover that rests against the mirrors and windscreen. The cover goes right down to the bottom of the wheels with about a 1/2 of clearance from the ground, which is perfect for me as I store my bike outdoors. I'm very pleased with the fit of the cover, the pegs line up perfectly with peg holes in the cover. It comes with a small stuff-sack if you can origami it in there, which is easily strapped to the bike for travel once in there.
Great for outdoor use!
Purchased this Medium cover for my KTM 390 2020. I have to say, it serves it?s purpose. It has good quality material for outdoor use. I live in a tropical island and my bike sits outside with its cover and I take the cover off I still haven?t seen humidity or water under the cover.
Nice cover but a bit of a tight fit.
The cover itself is very good. It is a tight fit on my 2019 CB1000R. I ordered the medium.
It fits
2016 Triumph Tiger 800 <br />Fits great. I got the Adv. Size and it even fits over my boxes.<br />Seems like it will hold up well.
Good quality cover
I bought this for a 2020 Ducati Scrambler Cafe. i purchased the "sport bike size" Overall its just slightly too big, but not enough to matter, it has pretty great elastic around it and a security clip. Hasnt come off in the crazy wind. Im pleased.
Used for 2002 SV650 outside
This cover has been used outside my townhouse in my parking spot. I use it on my 2002 SV650S and the fit is perfect. I have had no issue with heavy rain or windy with the cover wanting to come off. I am very pleased with the quality and the fit/finish.
It is a good cover for the size.
I bought this thinking that I would need another bag to pack it away. To my surprise it packs down well with the included bag. <br /><br />Used it once. No melting marks from when it was on hot exhaust.
Holds up in Wisconsin Weather
I bought this cover for my 2019 Iron 883 because my other cover ripped, was a little weary about the price and what I would be getting however after using this cover last summer and fall I can assure you this is one of the best covers you can buy.<br /><br />Held up through multiple thunderstorms and downpours as well as high winds and even snow in the late fall (Before I had a chance to put it away for winter) <br /><br />The fitment was perfect for my bike, (I still use the stock handlebars) anything taller might be a tight squeeze. <br /><br />My favorite part about this cover is I can throw it on shortly after riding and the pipes and engine are still hot.
Fit
It fit my my 07 perfectly I ended up with a medium size. Decently worth it to protect your baby from dust, and keeping it worm for the winter??
Best no garage solution
I hate not having a garage for my bike. Covering it with this is the next best thing to four walls and a roof. The money is well worth every penny. The screamer alarm is really loud. Run the strap for it threw your disk lock. So there is less fuss. <br />If you don't have a garage you need a good cover like this. <br />Don't even waste time with a cheaper cover.
Life Expectancy Could Be Better
Well, my cover kicked the bucket today after 18 months. The seam between the heat shield bottom and regular black material finally tore. I would have liked to get 2+ years of life out of this cover, but it does see a lot of rain for most of the year. Its a great, thick cover though and I imagine you'd get a longer life out of it if you lived somewhere thats not the pacific northwest and stored your bike outside exclusively.
Needed a good quality, outdoor cover for my 2008 Kawasaki Concours 1400. This cover fits the bike great and is waterproof. I got the XL size, and it works with the saddlebags on the bike. With bags off, this cover would be too big. So far, very happy with this cover.
Thought this was a great cover considering the price
The cover fits my 2002 vfr800 just right (adventure touring size), but will admit it is a PITA to put on in the dark due to its awkward shape and fitment - lots of slack in weird places, seems more fitting to a Harley fairing than adventure/touring. Living in the Bay, the late night dew and sun are my primary concerns - however, after the first few rains, I've noticed continued build-up of moisture inside the cover and on the bike. Not just a little bit of dew, I am talking the cover is soaked on the inside, near the seat and low points. Unacceptable to me, given the price. Will be calling Dowco for a replacement since the waterproof rating means nothing when moisture gets under the cover.
Great covers, but fit isn't great for the new Africa Twin
I own a Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus to cover a Ninja 300 that has to live outside. I've had it for 3 years now, and the graphic on the cover is faded. Otherwise it's in perfect condition, and has done a great job keeping the bike covered.<br /><br />I just recently bought an Africa Twin and the Adventure Touring cover, but I'm returning it - the fit isn't quite right, and it scratched the windshield the first time I put it on. Bummer since I had such a great experience with my other cover.
Like the included cinch bag
I use this weekly for my KTM Duke 390. I opted for a size medium due to the price gap with the sportbike size and it fits with room to spare. The lower section is silver/grey in color, so it shows all the grease and dirt that it picks up.
Great and actually waterproof
I've had two other covers that claimed to be "waterproof" only to come out to a wet seat and a mist on my bike. This one is great fit snug over my R6, great material and worth the money
NewRiderS
I just got my cover in today, which is convenient because I also just picked up my new bike today! The material of the cover is thick and clearly of great quality. The 'sp' size fits my bike perfectly. It's been pretty windy out but the thicker material has allowed for minimal billowing.<br /><br />My bike will be stored outside year-round, and I am confident that this cover will provide the protection needed for it to brave the elements.
JUST WHAT THE "Dowco" ORDERED!!!
DOWCO, I can't say enough. So far it's been excellent. Easy to put on/take off. Fits like a glove (2012 GSX-R 750). Said to order sport bike size and I did. For less than $100, and I got the closest thing than putting my bike in an actual garage. See the pics, "Picture worth 1000 words". Rather have those drops on cover vs my bike.<br /><br />Love the felt lining on the inside. Doesn't leave any scratches or marks.<br /><br />And just to clarify, the one and only reason I put the "DURABILITY" low is because I've only had a few weeks. Haven't had a chance to test that aspect.<br /><br />RZ, as always you guys rock! You guys never seems to amaze, keep it up!
Excellent, got it just in time
Ordered this based on the great reviews so far and it has not disappointed. My moto (2004 SV650s) sleeps outside all unfortunately and I needed something to protect it from the elements, this has proven to do just that. Since i've ordered the cover it has pretty much been raining non-stop for about a week now and still continues. I have had a chance between downpours to take my ride out for a spin and I must say that it was very dry when I took the cover off. There was a little but of water in pooled in the bottom around the elastic cord from improper installation I guess no big deal though the bike itself was dry. BTW I ordered a Medium for my SV.
It's a Cover!
Dowco's Weatherall Plus Motorcycle Cover is an all-around excellent cover. The materials and manufacturing quality are absolutely topnotch. Installing and removing the cover is a breeze and it holds up extremely well in both hot sunny summers and cold rainy/snowy winters!<br /><br />Security concerns can be alleviated by using a cable lock (such as the 2.2' 15mm Kryptonite KryptoFlex Key Cable Lock) and Dowco's Weatherall Plus Cover Alarm.
Best cover I ever used
This cover has done an excellent job protecting my motorcycle from the outdoor elements. I love how the elastic on the bottom of the cover hugs the bike so the cover doesn't balloon up or fly off during windy days. The material of this cover is of high quality which you will notice right away when opening the box. They also include a carrying bag to put the cover in incase you need to do so. This cover also includes a strap to tie the cover down for extra wind protection I suppose. Also has the option to use a cable lock to lock the cover on. GSX-R owners listen up! Make sure to order a large! It will fit perfect covering both wheels all the way to the ground and will wrap tight around the underside of the wheels. Do not get the recommended medium! I suggest whatever size they recommend you go a size larger to get complete coverage ( no parts of front or rear wheel exposed). This cover is going to last me a long time and when it comes time to replacing I will be purchasing again. Great product!!
The medium fits my Honda Rebel perfectly.
Cover seems quite durable - just held up through 3 inches of rain and heavy winds quite well.
Good, but not good enough..,
I've had this cover for several years now, but for at least a couple of years the waterproof tape at the seams has been gone. The tape simply peeled off over the years. I hadn't had the cover that long when this started happening, It has a limited lifetime warranty and when I called Dowco about this they said, "This sounds like something that's covered. Just cut out a swatch of the cover (a large swatch, if I remember correctly) and mail it to us for confirmation. I was kind of "what?" So, am I supposed to protect my bike with a cover with a large hole in it in the meantime? I get why they need confirmation, but it's still a bit weird. Decided not to do that. Just put an older smaller cover on top of the Dowco cover when it rains. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having a premium priced cover for your bike. It's been durable otherwise and it doesn't rain much where I live, so wet isn't usually a problem. But, for the price point, I expected much better.
Fell apart, broke at the seams
I'm shocked at how poorly this held together after only a few years, especially given that I put on and removed the cover very methodically. After 4 years it has completely disintegrated. The soft liner on the inside broke off very quickly within the first year or two. The pockets where the mirrors go had the seams burst, so my mirror was always exposed. Eventually the seam near the saddle also split, exposing the bike entirely. This is such a genuinely terrible product that I cannot recommend enough that no one buys it.
Protect your bike
Great for to my 2023 Indian Scout Bobber! Happy about this buy!
Good weather protection
I love it. I have an 883 sportster, and mine fits well with some extra room. The material is durable, and the weather protection is good for my outdoor bike. Tge elastic bottom hugs the underside of the bike pretty firmly so I hardly even tie it down, stays firm. I used to use the really cheap navy and silver covers and I can tell you now it's worth to upgrade. I've had less water in my oil and less rust too. I've had mine about 2 years.
Guardian Weatherall Plus
After two winters outside I can now give a fair review. The exterior of the cover is holding up well and doing its job of protecting the bike. The interior is not holding up so well. There is a white felt like material on part of the inside that in meant to protect the paint. But it does get stuck to parts of the bike and is pulled off from the cover. It has strips glued on the inside, covering all of the stitching and seams, these strips are starting to separate from the cover and are get caught on the bike every time I take it off.<br /><br />Over all it is what it is. It's a cover protecting the bike from the elements. <br />Would be nice if the interior did the same.
Does this cover fit the Kawasaki Z900 RS
Check out my review and opinion of the Dowco Guardian Weatherall Motorcycle Cover here: <br /><br />
Fits perfectly on a Kawasaki KLX 300
Size Large fits perfectly on a Kawasaki KLX 300
Great cover, terrible storage bag.
I bought the 3XL cover for a Honda Goldwing.<br /><br />The cover fits just fine, is easy enough to put on and take off, and is secured with a strap to prevent wind from blowing it away.<br /><br />The storage bag is another matter. After only 3 uses the bag is ripping and tearing and will be unusable soon. Using needle and thread I've repaired the bag enough for it to hold together until I can buy some other type of storage.<br /><br />Bottom line, great cover, but be prepared to buy another storage bag.
Size up. Way too small.
Picked the one labeled 'cruiser' and it's way too small It's short in length. More for like a sport bike or small vespa.
Rain, snow, ice, hail, sunshine, heavy winds, still works!
My 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom fits easily in this cover. The cover does a great job keeping the rain, pollen, and sunshine off my bike. I've used the same cover for several years with no maintenance (never cleaned it). There are some spots that appear to be mildew but no rips in the fabric and it still functions as expected.
GET
Syracuse, NY and no garage, so enough said. The cover is definitely waterproof as advertised and fits really well!
XL Fits BMW R1200RT with or without Top case
I bought the XL and seems to cover up my 2013 BMW R1200RT without the top case very well. It seems even with a top case it would cover the bike nicely.
Quality cover.
This (medium )cover fits my DRZ 400 well. I am using it to cover the bike on the back of the RV. A use it was not intended for. It has held up well for the several weeks it has been on so far.
Excellent quality and fit
Perfect fit for my 2018 Versys 650 LT with the panniers on (size XL). My previous cover was a cheap-o and lasted barely a year. Hoping this one gets a few more than that!
great fit for adventure bikes with bags
this fits over my Triumph tiger 800 Xcx with standard windscreen, top box and soft side bags with ease. with this configuration, the front tire is completely covered and the back tire remains partially exposed (covers just below license plate).
Durable Cover
Great Quality. and it fits my Roadglide Special when loaded to the max
Poor quality
Ive had this only a week in fair weather and already one of the seams has come unglued. Dowco claims to have a legendary warranty, but it will still cost me another 10 dollars to ship it back (plus the hassle). Im pretty unimpressed, should have just bought one of the knockoffs.
XXL Good for Street Glide(2012)
love it once received it.<br />XXL size snug fit to 2012 street glide covered front to end tyres.<br />Good material.
Very pleased!
The ADV sizes cover was a bit large for my Royal Enfield Himalayan, but that was to be expected because it's on the small side. The waterproofing is excellent, the fabric is melt-resistant, and I'm very pleased. I'm pretty confident it will last a long time, too.
Satisfied customer
Love it. <br />Bought for Indian Scout and it is great fit.
Great value bike cover
This is a well made product good quality I thought it was pricy at first then when I saw the quality of the material and how it kept my bike through the winter I did not regret this is worth it . It access for security cables and vents for breathability well worth it I would buy it again but probably not in five years at least because this is going to last thank you Dowco!
great cover
great cover gives full protection to my sons Ducati desert sled. <br />Very well constructed and includes storage bag. Would buy the same one again very good cover at a fair price.
First Impression, excellent cover
First impression is that it is an excellent cover. Very high quality cover with a soft inner liner with an easy to spot front indicator. Fits my 2017 Victory Magnum perfectly in an XL.
Solid cover so far
The sport size Fits my FZ-09 perfectly, even with a rear cargo rack and case.<br />Seems to be good quality and the carry case is pretty convenient.
Lifetime cover
Probably one of the better covers Ive bought in my 25 years of riding. With the lifetime guarantee hopefully its one of the last.
Great at first...
Out of the box this was great and fit nicely on my Triumph Bonny. However, I came to find that this is not a very long term product... within a years time the waterproof seams were starting to peel off. I was able to repair some of these with some caulking. Within another year all of the outer threading on the seams were starting to disintegrate as well as the bottom canvas material that covered the sides... I don't know if they make them with the canvas sides anymore but even without them I'm not sure it would have lasted much longer anyway...
High Quality
Legitimately waterproof. I recommend it.
Works great.
Bought and for my iron 883 it fits perfect and works well. Its rained a lot lately and I have had no issues with my bike being wet or the material failing at any point.
2019 Speed Triple S - Medium is Perfect
Just picked up a new speed triple, wanted a solid cover for the elements. The cover is more than enough for Northern California, and fits the 2019 Speed triple perfectly.
It works
Heavy duty design will stand up to sun and snow, Ive seen it. The cover has a felt area for the windshield area that I like. I thought it was cumbersome at first but within the first few uses Ive developed a routine and it takes seconds now. The best deterrent for theft is the thief not seeing it
Way better than my last cover
I park my bike outside and like this cover because it has a vent that will allow moisture to escape. My previous cover didn't have this so all of the moisture from the would get stuck underneath my cover. The material also does a good job of repelling water as well. I got a size MD and it fits semi-snugly over my MT-07.
AWESOME
Got caught in the rain a couple of days ago and covered my bike with this Dowco Motorcycle Cover I purchased a couple of weeks ago. First time I ever got caught in the rain, and I was well prepared. The cover kept my bike really dry. No leaks and very durable
Nice but could do better.
This is my second Dowco cover and I must say I liked the first one just a bit more. The current one doesn't seem to fit as well as the first. It also is a solid black and not two toned as the first cover. I considered placing tennis balls on the handle bars due to the last cover wearing through at that point but it's manditory on this cover. Personally I would rather see a draw cord closure instead of the elastic cord. This would ease install and prevent it from being caught on every corner.
Guardian Motorcycle Cover
The fit was right on the money. I would prefer grey so that it wouldn't get so hot in the summer sun.
Universal Fitment
I bought this cover in size XL to fit a 2019 Road King Special with 14" ape hangers and windshield. It fits just fine with no problems, hook the front under the front of the fender and rear under the slipons, the side hook under the footpegs and strap it underneath in the middle. Good purchase.
Good purchase.
This is the first summer that I had to keep my motorcycle stored outside of a garage. I wanted to get a cover that didn't cost a fortune but also provided enough protection. This has been great so far and has endured several big storms. The clip on the bottom ensures that the cover never blows out of place. The elastic fit around the bottom also allows minimal dust and pollen to blow up inside of the cover. The vent works as advertised as I've had little to no condensation build up as well. Would absolutely recommend.
Ehh. Its just ok
Bought a medium. Said for All sportsters. Barely. Once I change the handlebars Ill have to buy another size up. I have a stock sportster and its a super tight fit. And its not 100% water proof.
Waterproof / Wind Reistant
Bought the "Sport Bike" size cover for my 2017 FZ-09 and the cover fits almost perfectly coming up just a bit short on the front wheel.<br /><br />Cinching down the center strap helps the fitment across the bike. Even in 40mph winds the bike cover hasn't come close to coming off the bike. It just tends to lift above the front tire stopping at the caliper.<br /><br />Waterproofing is impressive to say the least. The bike sadly sits outside as I don't have a garage and even after 10 hours of rain the bike remains dry and without condensation on the inside.<br /><br />The materials convey a sense of quality having a solid weight to them without being heavy. Between both covers I've never had a rip or tear.<br /><br />Would soundly recommend this cover.
Seems ok
Have KTM Duke 790 and ordered sports bike size. On first for it looked too small and was going to return it. However the Dowco site says this size should fit a Super Duke. With quite a bit of fiddling I can make it fit ok, but it's very tight, to the point the vent is almost closed.<br /><br />On the vent topic, there is only one and it is only on one side of the cover, not both. Given that when the handle bars are locked on most bikes the right hand handle is higher than the left I thought the vent would be on the right (hot air riding etc) but it's only on the left.<br /><br />I would prefer lock eyelets both back as well as the provided front ones.<br /><br />I'm pretty confident this will be water proof as promised but have yet to try that out. The material is of good quality.<br /><br />Fitting it takes a lot of fiddling due to the elastic band and the fact I have to do a lot of positioning to make it work at this size.<br /><br />Would I buy again? I'd need to think, if I did, I'd buy the bigger size.
Perfect Fit
I purchased this for my 2018 Ninja 400 since I live in an apartment and have no garage. The fit is perfect! This is a nice durable cover, it have reflective strips on it so it can be seen at night. I also got the alarm for it (Sold Separate) but have not used it yet, I need a 9v battery for it. This also comes with a nice storage bag for the cover.
Well worth the extra $$ over a cheap cover.
Just received the Weatherall Plus to cover my 2018 Triumph Street Triple. Having owned several bargain covers over the years, I could tell the quality of this cover pulling it out of the box! This is soo much more than just a cheap piece of dressed up plastic like the other covers Ive owned ($19.95 - $39.95 price ranges). The 300 denier polyester fabric looks and feels rich, thick and high quality. Major upgrade over plastic.<br /><br />The sport bike size fits my bike perfectly. The elastic around the bottom seals off around the bike beautifully. Snug around the tires, it curves in under the bike making it easy to reach and attach the shock cord underneath. I will say, the elastic is tight but expands to go around mirrors and blinkers easily... once you get the hang of it (takes about 30 seconds). Tip: start with the front of your bike!<br /><br />Overall, I couldnt be happier with this cover. It looks and fits fantastic. For an extra $40 I got the Mercedes of motorcycle covers... instead of the Kias I was using before.
This is a nice cover!
I want to keep my Ducati in the garage, but my tools take up all the space so it lives outside. It doesn't rain much here in the Bay Area, but the cover keeps the bird poop of my bike very nicely. Sport bike size fits the 748 perfectly. I've only had the cover for a few weeks so I can't really comment on durability, but it looks to be very good quality.
Great Motorcycle Cover
I have a 2011 HD Dyna Street Bob, and the Cruiser size for this cover fits perfectly. The quality of this cover is evident. It was well packaged, and even included a storage bag. I cannot speak to its all-weather capabilities as of yet because I am currently using is on the bike in my garage. I plan to use this after long rides while on trips, or if I ride to work, in the parking lot during the day. With the construction of the cover, I do expect it to perform well in reasonable all-weather conditions. I would recommend this item to friends, and would make the purchase again.
Great if you don't have a garage
I bought my first bike last year and don't have a garage, so needed a cover that could stand up to all weather. I did a lot of research and this was consistently rated highly. The medium size fits my 2003 SV650 well, and so far the material has been durable and waterproof.
Excellent Cover
I use it for my Bonneville T120, and it's the best cover I've owned. I got it in LARGE and it fits perfectly. It's snug, but once you get a hang of it, its easy to put on/off (I like that it has labels inside that say FRONT and BACK). Even after heavy rain, the way it forms on the T120 makes it so there's only 1 small puddle at the front. I also like that it doesn't drag on the ground, so it stays clean.
Quality vs. Price = Spot On!
Size LG fits perfectly over my R NineT and does not drape onto the ground. The air vent is brilliant, and the material used is not too light, and not too heavy.
Awesome Cover
Great cover from Dowco. I bought my first (and recently retired) Guardian cover from Dowco back in '08-ish and it lasted up until last month when the seams finally gave after about 3 years covering my ride outside through the seasons.<br /><br />I really love the way Dowco evolved their venting system by making it it cloth and with a stiff plastic/metal hem that keeps the vet open and not closed/covering the vent holes.<br /><br />Its a lot, and I mean a LOT easier to get up and around my bike and it fits it like an Alpinestars Track Suit. The cover lays over the mirrors as if it was tailored to by specific bike and now for the strap, there is a buckle and not the old d-ring.<br /><br />I recently treated my cover with some "No Wet" or "Never Wet" product and after the first rain, water just beads off of it like a newly polished car.<br /><br />There is a pocket on either side now for an alarm (the old one only had it on the left side), and now there are holes to access your disc lock -- although I don't know why you'd want to access your lock before you take the cover off but that's just me -- and the access holes are on either side of the cover also.<br /><br />The box also mentioned about shielding or extra material at the bottom for the hot exhausts. Unlike my old cover, I did not notice that section.<br /><br />Fit, quality and ROI--amazing.
Great cover
I bought 2 of these covers in size Medium and have used them on a 2003 XT225, a 2014 XT250 with rear rack luggage and wind screen, and a 1977 GS550E and it fits all of them wonderfully, stays on secure with the bottom clip, and keeps them dry in the rain. Exactly what I was looking for.
rain proof, fits decently
I have a small suzuki 250cc bike, and got the medium bike cover and it fits just fine and has protected the bike nicely from the rain that we've had the past week. No issues, and given both the price and the warranty, i'd buy it again If i had to.
Dowco Cover
Brought this cover to replace another cover that had been shredded from years of use. I got this one just in time for the major storm that hit the east coast. The cover stood up to all the snow and kept my bike protected from the elements. I hope this one stands up better than the previous one, love that it has a lifetime warranty. Bought the cruiser size hoping that it would fit my bike better but it still is slightly off and needs some adjustment to get full coverage
No fuss excellent quality
I owned an Oxford Stormex for a few years which did its job well but found it rather heavy and seemed to catch onto every little sticky-out bit on the bike. Thought I would try something new and after reading all the positive reviews I decided to try out the Dowco... Well what a breeze... Its a simple and very easy to pull over the bike with no pointless gimmicks some of the other covers have. One single vent to the left hand side and elasticated hem to the bottom with a heat resistant material where the high level exhaust sits. It is absolutely fine to put cover on a hot bike straight after riding as I have done some many times. I can comfortably say it is completely waterproof and has been in some torrential downpours. Stuff sack is also extremely useful as it can be transported with ease.<br />One teeny tiny gripe... I have a Triumph Scrambler and chose the Sports Bike cover after checking sizing recommendations on the Dowco website. The cover doesn't quite get completely over the front wheel so you may consider getting a slightly larger size if you own a scrambler.
Excellent Protection
The 3XL cover fits my Victory Cross Roads (+ windshield) with room to spare. The 2XL fits my Yamaha V-Star with windshield and saddlebags but isn't quite big enough for my Victory. I've used Dowco covers on my bikes for a couples of years now. It's a tough cover and keeps the rain out. Those cheaper "All Season" covers only keep the rain out if you park inside. Get the Dowco.
Excellent Cover...does exactly what its supposed to do !!
Gud quality cover with proper cloth to protect the fly screen area ...and can use it immediately after a ride as the exhaust part of the cover is heat resistant...excellent product..but yeah expensive :)
Good Cover
I got this cover to replace an older cover that hadn't lasted as long as I hoped. I haven't had it on my Kawasaki for very long, but it sits very well and was very easy to put on the bike (easier than my last cover). Seems like a solid cover.
Use them on all my bikes
Sadly when I got into riding I didn't have a storage structure for my bikes throughout the riding months. After reading a few reviews and checking a few star ratings I decided to try out one of these covers and it has been perfect. So great in fact that as I started to increase my bike collection I've been sure to get a Dowco cover for each cycle. Not sure about winter protection but when it comes to rain, wind, dust leaves, tree branches, etc. these covers do an awesome job of protecting my bikes. Heavy duty material and the exhaust protection are way better than some sub $100 covers you can get. Also the strap that wraps under the bike helps keep the cover secure in high winds and stormy weather. I now have a storage shed for the bikes but I still keep my Dowco covers on hand, you never know when you might need a solid cover.
Great product
Exactly what I wanted, perfect fit, durable material. VERY pleased.
2007 BMW R 1200 RT
I got a XL and it fits my 2007 BMW R1200 RT that has saddle bags and the 49L top case perfectly. I just got the cover today and the material is sturdy and should hold up to the colorado outdoors for a long time.
Excellent all-weather cover - Cruiser size
Purchased this for a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Custom and the fit is perfect. Even with the Paladin sissybar and luggage rack on the cover still reaches down over the license plate to the back wheel.<br /><br />Cover feels very sturdy, with strong elastic, and rain beads nicely on the surface.
Excellent Motorcycle Cover
I purchased the large size of this cover for my BMW K75s and it fits extremely well, even with the top case on. I haven't tried it with the saddlebags yet, but there seems to be enough room. Cover seems sturdy and has already held up against a few downpours without letting any rain through to the bike. Vents appear to let enough air circulate. It was a bit pricier than others, but I chose it based on reviews and the fact that the company has a very thorough sizing chart available.
Very Nice Cover for your Bike
I bought this cover for a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R, The SportBike size fits perfect and the material is of very high quality. The inside of the liner is also soft so you don't have to worry about scratching your fairings or windscreen. You are supposed to be able to put the cover on right after riding your bike, but I still don't think I'd do that.<br />If your looking for a good cover or putting your bike away for the winter look no further you'll be very happy with this cover!!
Very good and resistant
This cover was really what I needed, because after I saw some of the questions and answers section. I found that other person asked what size was needed for the bike that I have. I picked up the Color: Black/Grey / Size: LG, it fits. I put an old sheet of bed under the Dowco cover to protect it. Because the BMW K1200RS 2001 has a left stand a bit to high (a bit too much), you need to be sure if it is in a big parking lot, that the stand is on the deepest side of the parking and it will add more angle for the motorcycle if the wind is on the opposite site most of the time. The best, it is to let your motorcycle protected of the wind close from a wall of a building. Because, you can find your motorcycle on the pavement. With this cover, you can cover your front and back disk brake on the right side with the suitcases. After each time, before you go for a ride, be sure your check the adjustment of your mirrors. They may change after the cover was put.
Great ALL season cover...
I've had my bike outside without any shelter for the past year, and this cover has given it lots of protection. It has really earned its keep this winter--which has brought seemingly non-stop snow, freezing temps, and ice to the midwest. This cover has gotten the job done and aside from the "Dowco" stamp wearing off of the air panel, it's hardly showing signs of wear.<br />I'm likely to be a Dowco cover buyer for a long time.<br /><br />Bottom line: Great cover for bikes that are kept outdoors in typical (and some extreme) four-season weather...<br /><br />I've got a 1981 Honda CM400c and the medium cover is a good fit.
Nice heavy duty quality product!
I ride a Triumph Tiger 1050 SE and the size XL wraps around my whole bike pretty darn good, including side bags/panniers and top case. Based on what I've experienced so far, I can expect the Dowco Guardian cover will last a long time. It is a bit bulky, even when folded nice and tight in its storage bag. So keep that in mind when traveling, it will take up at least one of your size bag space. If you keep your bike outside, the Weatherall cover will definitely protect it from the harsh weather!
It does everything I need it to do!
I ride a 2008 Royal Star Tour Deluxe with a tall front windscreen and the passenger rear back rest. The Dowco website recommended a XL size, but the reviews here recommended an order of a size or two larger. I went with the XXXL (its a big bike - 900 lbs, wide and long). Turns out it was a good choice. The cover fits snug but not so tight as to make it too difficult to get on and off. Seems to be made of sturdy stuff and here in Chicago, it just survived its first major rain storm. The bike was nice and dry and the cover dried off by the next morning. I would recommend the cover but be careful about the size you order. If your bike has a removable wind screen like mine, the sizing seems to assume you have the wind screen off. Go at least a size larger than recommended.
Well designed, high quality product
I use this to cover my Honda VFR 800 in an open parking lot for 3-4 days at a time. It has performed flawlessly so far in rain, shine and high wind conditions. It appears very durable and the sportbike size fits well. There is enough room underneath to lock my helmet on the bike and still cover almost all of both tires. Features I like are the dedicated tie-down strap allowing a very secure fit for windy conditions and great portability. The cover fits easily into it's dedicated carry bag and is small enough to place in a saddle bag or strap on the back seat. Most recently I arrived to an all day rain soaked parking lot to find my bike and gear dry as a bone underneath. If you need a serious cover this one is worth the extra money.
Outstanding cover
Work keeps me living in apartments, and as a result my bike spends far too much time out in a parking lot. Drug my feet on getting a cover, but after a particularly hard rain, I got enough water in the tank to render the engine inoperable. One embarrassingly expensive trip to the dealership later, I ordered this cover.<br /><br />The Sport size fits my Triumph Sprint ST like it was made for it. Very well made out of substantial material. Kept the bike clean and dry through a good size storm this week. Its not the cheapest as far as covers go, but this is one of those things (like so many others when it comes to motorcycles) where a 'buy once, cry once' policy really is a good idea.
High quality--- a bit pricey
I've bee using the cover over the winter and am satisfied by the quality of the product. The first thing I noticed was the weight of it and how easy it was to fit snuggly to my 07 Honda 600RR. It has held up well against ice and snow. I like that is fits down close to the ground and covers my chain and sprocket.
Lifetime warranty
This is my second cover for a second bike. The first is a Dowco Weatherall (not the Plus), It has a lifetime warranty, and I've used it. The cover takes a beating in the sun here, and Dowco has replaced it not once, but twice. The "Plus" is sturdier, and will fare better, I think, but if it doesn't, I know they'll honor the warranty. There was no question I was going to get another Dowco.<br />Wish it wasn't black - it's going to get HOT under there!
Good quality at a good price.
I dont have a garage, so I have to leave my bike out in the driveway all summer (store it in the shed in winter). This cover has great all weather protection and holds up through several seasons very well. For me, the seams begin to separate and let water in after that time, so I end up buying a new one every 3-4 years. I bought a size medium, and have a 2009 GSXR750. In the past I bought the Sportbike size, which was more expensive. The Medium fits the bike much tighter than the Sportbike size does. Thats really my bad, I should have asked customer service which size for my bike. Having said that, it does fit, it just isnt loose, and doesnt go all the way to the ground, so its a keeper for me. Ive always been very happy with these covers.
Great Cover
This cover is very easy to use and has great waterproofing for the foul weather. I would definitely recommend this product. I have an 07 GSXR 750 and I got a large and it fits perfectly.
Size Large fits well on Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom
Once I discovered the tag on the inside of the cover that indicates the front, the cover fits pretty well.<br /><br />Putting it on sideways or backwards doesn't work. I proved it.<br /><br />Unlike the picture shown for this cover. My wheels are also covered which is a plus.<br /><br />The material seems plenty strong enough for outdoor use.
Lifetime warranty seals the deal
I just walked outside to inspect my bike after a downpour we just had in South Philly. My roommate has the Nelson Rigg, I have the Dowco. The Nelson is visibly wet with minimal beading while the Weatherall Plus is shiny and dry between the beads, which brush off at the swipe of a glove. His seat was slightly damp while my seat was bone dry. Include a lifetime warranty, (peace of mind is priceless) and at this price it can't be beat. 110% Satisfied with my purchase.
Just about Okay.
This product fits nicely on my bike. It keeps my bike nice and dry in all the rainy weather we've been having. However, after having this cover for only a couple of weeks, the threading is coming undone around the elastic edges like a dog shedding its fur.
Dowco Guardian XL
I bought this for a BMW R1200ST. Impressive quality. Not a single thread hanging loose when I opened it. Overall it has held up in some good thuderstorms. Strong elastic cord that should last many years. My biggest gripe, and I realize it just may be with my bike, is that the vent cover is not at the highest point when mounted. In fact when I had the trunk case on and the front wheel locked, the vent was actually down by the tank and lying flat that rain can be driven into the vent cover. Thus basically I have to take the trunk case off (no big deal) and leave the forks unlocked. (not comfortable doing that) to have the cover sit right. My bike does have a after market windscreen (Z-Tech) which may be the problem. I'll try different configurations to see what works best. At this point my actual rating would be a 4.5 I personally think there should be vents on both sides and maybe move the forward and up a couple of inches. I did get the alarm but have not tried it yet.
Nice sturdy waterproof cover
Great cover. Recommended!
Great cover
Great cover this is my second one for a different bike. I bought the adventure touring for a Tenere 700 and the fit is fantastic. be careful of the soft fabric on the inside that sits against your windshield, it can tear easily. Cover keeps water out and the buckle on the bottom edge helps keep it in place when it gets windy.
