Dunlop AE 2 Performance in Rain
I finally got into some rain with the new AE2's on the trip to Sturgis. I have to say I am impressed with how well they handled the rain. I rode the Beartooth highway and Needles Highway on the trip in the rain and had no issues at all which was a great test for the tires. I highly recommend these if you were at American Elite fan.
Very smoth ride handels perfectly. I hade Commander 3 on I perfer this tire. I will defently stay with Dunlop.
Sticks like glue
I had these installed on my 05 Electra. Right out of the gate they handled excellent. I'm a motor officer and have spent YEARS on D402s and American Elites. The dealer tossed these on my personal bike last service. They stick like glue. I was dragging floorboards through the mountains the first weekend after install. Did some rodeo moves in the parking lot to scuff em up and have never had so much as a hiccup out of them. I was initially skeptical being that they are made out of country, but my worries are unfounded. Dry performance is excellent. They wiggle on hot mid-turn tar snakes just as much as any other tire, thats just coefficient of friction no tire can overcome, and the rain handling is excellent. The solid center actually felt better and more planted, surface tension science I guess. Dunlop engineers know all about it it seems. I'll keep buying these for all my "skinny" tire bikes. Well done Dunlop. Keep it coming.
AE2
Great tire. I'm running it on a 23 Ultra Limited. I have 22,000 miles on it so far and would guestimate another 3-4000 left. It's been in the desert heat to 11,000 ft. Colorado mountain passes in the rain and all over the twisty roads of the Appalachian mountains. So far, zero complaints. Expensive but worth it.
Dunlop American Elite 2 (AE2)
Tires are nice - felt different in turns from the two different compounds - harder in the center, softer on the sides, but I got used to it quickly. They feel really good. Let's see if they outlast the Michelins Commander III's now. I ride semi-aggressively and most of it is in the mountains. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Haven't experienced them in the rain yet.
Pretty sticky so far
Actually I have only riden on these for 1,200 miles but they feel good. I bought them less than a month ago because they claim to get a good amount of milage. Now your asking for a trend wear review. A bit early I'd say
Great tire at a great price.
Another bulletproof Dunlop tire: the AE2 is the 2d gen American Eagle offering from Dunlop. Smooth, quiet, and hugs the road.
Great
Yes great product made a big difference in performance
Terrible customer service at the san luis obispo store. Young kids with attitudes. It was a two week process to have my tire.Put on. Two dings on my rim. They put chrome weights on a black rim, and no valve stem cap installed a very unprofessional.
Great
Good thanks
Dunlops feel better to me
I have run d402 dulop, ameican elite, mettzler 888, ae2. I like the feel of dunlops over mettzler 888. When passing 18 wheelers on the interstate or winding high speed turns the mettzlers always felt as if I was running on a small contact patch. The dunlops feel planted when passing trucks and cornering. No fault of the tire but I have ruined 1 mettzler and 2 dunlops with punctures before wearing them out.
So far so good, I also liked the old Dunlop elite and wish they wouldn’t discontinue it. I like the tread pattern a little better than the AE2
Upgrade your tires. Forget stock old versions
Rode with these one once. They’re fantastic.
Glad upgraded from D402 stock version.
valve stems
havent got it on the road yet. although this is the 2nd tire i have had installed there, and have ask for the valve stem to be replaced and its the 2nd time it was not replaced
1st time they said they were out of the one for my rim , the 2nd one they told me it was replaced , but i marked it and it wasnt
it will be the last tire i will have mounted there. i dont want to be out on the road some where and have it fail and leave me stranded. it should be standard proto call to replace them, i shouldnt have to ask
Don’t have al lot of miles on it. Hope I get as good of a ware as my last tire . With it being a new model, it’ll be interesting to see.
Grip and tire life
Long lasting very grippy tires, highly recommend
Blue Falcon
One of the smoother tires I have had
Great tire
Just put down 6000 miles in 12 days hit rain heat and cold weather still a great tire tire wear is even after being packed down with luggage
So far happy with the handling after 3000 miles. Longevity still to be determined.
Tread design didn't inspire confidence
After getting these tires shipped to me, I returned them for Metzler's without mounting them. Looking at the tread design of the rear tire, I just didn't think I would ever feel confident on them in the rain. Most of my trips seem to include at least one day- maybe more- riding in the rain. I have read that Dunlop claims these are better than the original Elites on wet roads, but I didn't see any test results to back that claim up. I started wondering what Dunlop knows that no other tire manufacturer who uses snipes in the center of the tire does. Also sorry to see they are no longer American made.
Very little weight to balance, excellent ride, and good wet traction.
Well made tire like the tread design
Nice tire love these tires
Roadglide Tire
Order came fast and item was as said description. The tire was manufactured a year ago of my purchase date so not crazy about that. It'll be fine hopefully I can ride enough it won't make a difference.
Great tire
Great tire for the Road Glide
Always get a lot of miles out of them and the only tire I trust in the twisties
Great tire for the Road Glide

Tires !
The tire I ordered came directly to my house in less than 2 days !
Rear Tire
Looks like the last one I replaced.
Good , but far from cheap , definitely not inexpensive
They are good tires, but between the front and the rear.I'm up to 6 hundred dollars almost not including balancing and moaning, that's another 100 so for 700 bucks, they better last a couple years.
So Far, So Good!
As a long-time American Elite rider, I was a little reluctant to adopt the new AE2. I've got about 500 miles on the new tire and am pleased with the improvements. I'm anxious to see how many miles this one will deliver.
Awesome tites
I thought the AE’s were great tires. I believe the AE2 are better! Just wish tires were always in stock.
Great tires, can really feel a difference from the elite and Michelin 3-4s. I ride 20-30k a year def recommend
excellent tire for heavy cruiser motorcycle. more money than I would like to have spent, but the tires come highly rated by fellow motorcycle owners who use them.
Dunlop Elites
I have been using the Dunlop Elites for at least my last three or four purchases. They get great wear, about 18 to 20 thousand miles.
Great tires --- so far.
Arrived quickly. Both tires about 6 months old. They run quietly and smoothly. The factory Harley Dunlops had an obnoxious whine at 45 mph..from the first mile (not cupping). The tires run straight and true, no disturbance from seams or ruts. These perform the way the factory tires SHOULD HAVE. Still less than 100 miles so far, further evaluation not appropriate at this time.
Great tire
What a great tire, nice wear and grip, seems to wear a little slower than the American elite which im a huge dunlop fan.
Great tire!!!
First time Dunlop's have let me down
These tires make me feel like I'm all over the road. They have a drift to them at hey speed. Not feeling safe at all.
New Rear Sneaker
Prompt delivery, haven’t ridden it in the rain as of yet.Tire handles well and I would recommend this model.
2006 Ultra Classic.
Dunlop american elite 2 are great tires
J & P have always been very good about shipping out the products I select online. Ive ordered at least 4 sets of tires from them and they have been good. I’ve recommended you to many of my friends and they’ve ordered from ya.
AE2 not great
The AE2 do not feel as good as the original American Elites. Will try Michelin next.
Feeling good
I replaced both front a rear a few days before our Arizona run. These tire are feeling really good so far! I have now put a couple thousand miles with no complaints
GREAT TIRE
GREAT TIRE. But I really didn't expect anything less.
Best tire I ever bought for the ride very nice look also.
AE2
Bought a front and rear tire for my 2023 Street Glide Special
They arrived quickly from two different distributors, the rear tire was made in Indonesia and the front tire was made in Japan. Have always used Dunlop tires on my bikes hopefully I will get the same mileage as the American Elites. Tires look great we will see how they wear only have about 50 miles on them now
Smooth ride, quality grade tire
Great tire, nice smooth ride and great performance!!
Only have a few hundred miles, but so far it’s good
AE2 tire
this tire went on a friend's bike so can't give a good rating, he has not said anything bad about it. I don't like the tread design as the older/ USA made tire
AE2’s
Great wear, good handling
I haven't had my front tire on very long but so far I really happy with it.
good traction. good looking tire we will see what the tread life is?
Rear ae2
Great so far. 2019 HD street glide AE2
So far, so good. Pretty tacky.
Love the New Dunlop AE2.
Great Tire at a good price. ????
Very well made tire, rides good.
Dunlop AE 2
I have been using the Dunlop American Elite tire for years loved that tire, couldn't find any available in my size this time around so I went with the new AE 2. Tires look good I only have about 30 miles on them so far very interested to see how long these last the original AE's gave me great mileage. Can't really say much about wet traction haven't ridden in any rain.
Tires
Like them so far...only put few hundred miles on them..
Dunlop ae2
Prefect fit and look great
No read pattern across the middle of the tire like the old American Elites
