The parts arrived earlier than expected. Installation was easy after the ring gear was sanded with dremil match up. Started and sounds great. Happy with product at this point.

This replacement ring is a great choice. Installation was straight forward and it even included spacers to set the air gap pinion to ring. Works very well.

The manufacturer does not need to machine the ring gear to fit so tightly around the clutch basket. The mounting holes are plenty far away enough from the clutch basket that they could easily increase the inside hole diameter by 1/16" or more to make it slide on easier. I along with several other people that I have read reviews from had to machine around the inside of the ring gear to get it over the clutch basket and not have to beat it on. Secondly, the allen head cap screws are simply stated "horrid"! There is just no room behind the clutch basket and between the drive chain to work with them properly. I wound up using a cut off piece of a 1/4" allen wrench with a 6 point box wrench and short piece of pipe to tighten them. The instructions call for these to be torqued to 29 ft lbs. Please show me the torque wrench that will do this in the space provided. With the clutch assembly removed sure no problem. But...one of the primary (no pun intended) selling points of this product is the replacement of the ring and pinion gears without doing so. After struggling with the first two allen head cap screws I removed them and replaced all 6 with 5/16"-24 x 3/4" grade 8 hex head bolts from Fastenal. Applied red locktite and tighted them with a 1/2" ratcheting box wrench. Then torqued them with a 3/8" drive torque wrench and a 1/2" crows foot socket. WAY faster, easier and no skinned knuckles. Lastly, the head of a hex bolt actually sits lower than the head of an allen cap screw

The gear set works perfectly, would have given 5 stars if the gear didn’t take a decent amount of sanding to fit the basket hub.

I fitted this to my 2003 DYNA SUPER GLIDE a tight to the clutch basket,spacer washers that came with it were not needed definitely takes a load off starter motor delivery to new Zealand 4 days im very happy with it staff on chat very helpful 5 🌟

A quality pinion and ring gear upgrade. High compression adds stress to the starting system. This set is obviously more robust than the stock setup....larger teeth, steel grade, etc. Works very well.

Wrong item showed up I ordered a starter ring for a 1998 one that showed up was for a 1997 will not fit

have a 2003 Road King. in order to get the ring get onto the clutch basket i had to remove some material inside of the ring gear very tight fit

first of all was the service from jp! great and super fast! i had the stock 10/102 gear set and it finally gave out! broken starter pinion and several broken teeth off the ring gear due to kicking back while starting. well did some research and found that compu- fire had a well reviewed set of 10/84's then found the set at jp! so i ordered and prepped the bike while it shipped! got it quick and did the install which was a snap!! wrapped up the project and hit the start button and boom she fired right up! no kickback ! been running this for a week of so and problem solved! did i say its got more starting torque?? haha great product from a great parts source! thanks JP!!

Gears went right on....and I noticed a huge difference in cranking speed. I would recommend this set to anyone with more than stock compression in there motor.
