Frequently Asked Questions

Do these shocks have rebound adjustment?

The standard IFP version does not have rebound adjustment. The optional IFP-QSR version adds 3-position adjustable rebound.

What spring rate should I choose?

Standard rate fits riders up to 240 lbs. Heavy duty suits riders over 240 lbs. Super heavy duty handles 240–370 lbs and Tri-Glide models.

Are these shocks rebuildable?

Yes — these shocks are fully serviceable and rebuildable by authorized suspension shops.

Can I adjust the spring preload myself?

Yes — hand-adjustable spring preload lets you dial in the ride height and suspension stiffness without tools.

What makes these model-specific?

FOX optimizes the damping and spring tune for each Touring chassis to deliver the best ride quality and handling for that model.

You won’t be sorry!

I’ve always heard that suspension upgrades are the best money you can spend on a motorcycle, particularly on a Harley. This is the first bike that I’ve actually done it, and they were right. Immediately the motorcycle rode smoother, was more stable in sweepers, and the suspension eats up the things that used to launch me almost out of the saddle. Not as “showy” as other things you can spend your money on, but you won’t be sorry. 100% improvement over stock Harley suspension!

Bought these for my 21 Road Glide. Definitely a huge improvement from stock. Coming from a Legend Revo A, the ride quality from these fox shocks compared to legends is pretty far apart and reflects the $400.00 price difference. Still worth the money though as it is a very comfortable ride.

Do yourself a favor. Now.

Man, what a difference. 2019 FLHXSE with the same crappy shocks as my ‘15 FLTRX. Went an inch longer than stock. No more eyeball shakes going over some mild washboard and no spitting out dental fillings. No more hard bottoming-out and if you somehow manage to, the snubber is twice as thick as OEM. Easy to mount. No issues and no negatives. Glad I did it and you will be, too. An excellent and very competent shock. No goofy look-at-me reservoirs sticking out like a mechanical tumor. They just plain work and work well.

Perfect

Perfect, replaced the stock suspension, easy to bolt on and setup. Exactly what I expected, great feel of the road. The bike feels planted, way better then stock.

Took my 20th century bike into the 20th century.

The stock Harley shocks just plain suck. (2021 Street Glide Special)<br />Got tired of getting beat to death, upgraded the front fork cartridges (and new oil 15wt) and rear shocks to Fox on both ends. I am 270 and typically ride solo, went with the heavy-duty spring set-up on both ends then just tuned them on the light side from what was suggested.
