I own the original.
My Turbine is going on 5 years old now. Personally, I prefer the left shoulder vertical striping that went front and back over the new style shoulder stripes that only show in front. What good is that?! No reflectivity in the back??? Wtf? All you tall riders complaining that it's short - I'm 6', 180#, 42" chest and I wear a large. It's PERFECT. The jacket comes down a good 2" past my belt. The new model for the most part is identical. They bumped it up in price $20 because they gave you CE armor in the shoulders and elbows, and I bet it's very cheap armor at that. Bitch and moan all you want about this jacket but it's a winner. In almost five years of daily Florida riding in the spring, summer, and fall (and I mean daily people) I've just in the last week managed to break off the tab of the main zipper pull! Not the zipper! The pull tab! Snaps work as new. Velcro as new. Zippers flawless. Leather looks new, which has an antique wrinkle look to it to start with. Jacket looks new and all I've ever done to it is toss it in the dryer when is get home soaking wet because I didn't have the liner in and got caught in a Florida downpour. So yeah, even with the price hike, I'd buy it ten times over again. I do agree that snap cuffs are kinda dumb. My Joe Rocket Atomic has them too. Can't get gauntlets under them. That's the only pick! The guy moaning that the back protector pocket doesn't secure with Velcro? - Dude... The armor fits in it so tight that it doesn't move anyway! What a stupid nitpick! Besides you go shooting down the road on your back you think you'll be saying to yourself, ' I hope my pocket doesn't open.' No. You'll be praying the back doesn't rip open and the back protector flies out while you continue down the road screaming in your helmet! This is mesh. As open mesh as it comes. Reminds me of my first Cortech GT Air back in 2000. That jacket is heavy compared to this.
First ride impressions
First I would like to say that I really like this jacket and therefore I have given it 5 stars.<br /><br />I cannot fairly rate "protection & durability" since 1. I just got it and 2. hope I don't have to find out about protection. <br /><br />"Features"? hmm, It has pockets, nice airflow, snap adjustments, etc...<br /><br />I got size LRG and I feel like it is slightly big (I'm 5,9, 185 pounds, 40" chest) but I think that's going to be a plus if I have to have a hoodie or the waterproof liner that comes with it.<br /><br />It does come with a back protector (foam), not the best but it's still a lot better than no protection and CE approved Elbow and shoulder protection.<br /><br />I highly recommend this jacket as I rode in sunny weather 85 degrees in the shade with no problem.<br /><br />
Great warm weather jacket
So far (about 3 or 4 rides) really pleased. Definitely flows a lot of air & is comfortable with temps in the high 20's (C, 80's F). Nice that it comes with a liner which would come in handy if using this jacket when it gets a bit colder or rainy. Haven't tested the protection (hopefully won't have to, lol) but looks ok. There is a fairly thin back protector in place, but presumably not CE Approved; bether than nothing though. Overall happy with purchase.
Tons of air flow for a quarter of the price of other mesh jackets
I've only put about 100 miles on this jacket so far but I like it. You catch a LOT of wind. I just got back from a lunchtime ride today. It was 90 out and after an hour, my head was sweaty from the helmet but my body was bone dry.<br /><br />I can also vouch for the elbow armor when I didn't fully engage my kickstand the other day and my Vulcan slowly dragged me to the ground on my left side. Myself and the jacket are fine. <br /><br />The included waterproof liner does its job and folds back up fairly small. Also, this fitsRev'It back protector KN 106.
Good value but you get what you pay for.
If you are tight on a budget and want something with armor and airflow, this is your jacket. I wore this jacket in the Louisiana summer heat can attest to its ability to feel light and ventilated. The styling is also clean, classic, and minimally branded. Im 61 190 lbs and the athletic silhouette is not sacrificed with the jackets cut. However be aware the included armor does not feel like cutting edge technology and I wouldnt trust it for anything more than putting around town. Lastly, the liner that came with my jacket is a small despite the actual jacket being a large. I suppose this is a common issue when buying at this price point.
Excellent product for what it's designed for.
Excellent jacket for what it's designed for. I purchased this jacket as an alternative to my leather jacket for the hottest days of summer. This product has excellent airflow and the armor pockets are a nice addition. I have upgraded all the armor to REV'IT Seesoft and Seeflex for CE level two protection. The armor fits nicely in all the pockets and doesn't compromise comfort. <br /><br />You have to take the good with the bad. Obviously, a mesh textile jacket cannot provide the same protection as full leather, but this jacket delivers optimal airflow while still offering some level of protection. I haven't had the misfortune of crashing with this jacket, but as of now I would recommend this product to a friend.
Great jacket
Works way better than jackets that cost over twice as much. <br /><br />I use to just ride in a long sleeve t-shirt. But in 100 degree weather, I would still get hot. This jacket with a t-shirt keeps me cooler and has the added benefit of protection. You'll still get hot sitting at a light, but cool down as soon as you start moving again. <br /><br />Surpassed my expectations.
One of the best options for Florida riding.
Finding riding gear that offers protection and style along with the comfort required to deal with Florida heat can be a challenge. Finding all that a reasonable price can be nearly impossible. However the Highway 21 Turbine jacket checks all the boxes. Breathable mesh, CE elbow and shoulder armor, reflective strip, useful well placed pockets, even a waterproof liner for the inevitable Florida rain. The Turbine combines it all into a stylish retro modern jacket that will look good on almost any type of bike. Highly recommended.
Great Jacket for the South
Great looking Jacket fit a little snug has side zippers that open to give you a little more room if your a big guy great air flow good armor needs a better back protector it was a little short for me had to size up to wear inside weather proof liner sleeves felt great you can tighten the arms if you need to over all a nice jacket . 6'3 285 3XL fit snug .
Quality Warm Weather Jacket
I found this jacket to be great for the midwestern summer riding season. Air flow is top notch, very little sweating in this jacket on the hottest days. It comes with padding on the shoulders, elbows, and back. All of those are removable. I ride a cruiser and this jacket goes well with that styling. I don't see this being a jacket that you could use once the temps begin to get into the low 50's F, as it offers nothing in the means of warmth. It is strictly a warm weather jacket. All in all, I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants coverage and protection during warm to hot weather riding.
Very good Jacket
Fits true to size. I have a bit of a protruding belly and it fits me well. Somewhat on the loose side.
Great Summer Jacket
This is my second mesh jacket. I got this one to match my new taste in cruisers. I am 6'0" 180lbs with a slender build, I ordered a medium, like all my other jackets, and it fits great, maybe a touch short in the torso. For the money this is a pretty good deal. CE armor at the elbows and shoulders. The back pad is just foam but at this price you really can't complain about that. This jacket is fully mesh. It was a bit difficult to tell from the pictures, when I ordered it I thought the shoulders and arms were textile, but its just a different type of mesh. Its nice to have adjustments at the forearm and waist. I do not like the snaps at the cuff however. Velcro is more practical (and cheaper I would think?) I generally leave the cuffs un-snapped and tuck the snap up under the cuff but it always comes lose while I ride. I do like that it has belt loops. I think this is an important safety feature.<br /><br />I have 2 gripes with this jacket:<br />1. This is pretty minor but the leather stripes on the sleeves are black, not a grey color as they appear in the pictures. <br />2. The main zipper is not locking and tends to work its way down a bit as I ride. <br /><br />Overall for the money I think this is a great inexpensive, stylish, summer jacket. Time will tell if it holds up, but hopefully I won't have to test its crash protection.
Fantastic Airflow
Very light with great airflow. It has definitely helped me keep sweat down on hot days. I wish it had 1 more belt strap, but the 1 is does have is decent. It does fit a little tight, so going 1 size up may have been a good idea. Overall I really like this jacket.
Great jacket
Fits true to size, 3XL. Great air flow. Arm snaps are unnecessary and have a habit of coming undone. Armour is light and not too rigid (all removable if unwanted). Overall a great summer jacket balancing protection with body temperature control.
It gets way hot and humid in Florida and I hate riding highways without a jacket.<br />The air flow is awesome. 398 mile ride , Orlando to Key West, loved it
Nice jacket, but a frustrating liner.
I like this jacket. During the warm weather, it keeps you very cool while providing the comfort of wearing a jacket. My issue happened when the weather got cooler and I tried putting in the liner. For some reason, the liner has 2 snap attachments at the end of each sleeve, but the jacket has only one snap attachment. The end result is the the sleeve is not held in-place well and gets all bunched up every time I take the jacket off. Very frustrating.
H21T
This jacket is surprisingly lightweight for having the removeable rain layer and the protective elbow, shoulder, and back panels.
Great Value!
This jacket is really great for the price. The included rain protector is great for cool mornings as well!
Jacket
Good airflow, shoulder and elbow padding included . Great for warm to hot weather. Looks great.
Good investment
Comfortable and good looking. I am very pleased!
Great jacket
Great 3 season jacket. 4 season jacket if you swap the liner for a heated one. Kept me cool in 90-100° days in the summer and it is versatile enough to pair with cold weather gear underneath. Only complaint is the zipper does not lock at the top.
Great for hot days.
Great jacket that provides protection on those hot days. This jacket is light weight and offers a removable rain liner. True fit with lots of pocket. Only wish is that it came in a lighter color. But other then that, this is the perfect jacket for full protection during the summer heat.
Great Summer Jacket
This is a great summer jacket for riding. Not too hot in it and it comes with a liner when it gets a little cooler out.
Great jacket for the price
Bought it for the hot days and seems to flow air very well
Very good summer jacket
Plenty of ventilation for the summer, fits true to size, slightly long in the arms but not bad. Still very comfortable and keeps me nice and cool in 90 degree weather.
Bought this for summer time riding and it does pretty well. Only time I feel hot is when Im waiting at traffic lights not moving. Only complaint is the length of the torso section is kind of short and sits right at waist line but everything else fits good. Would recommend
Great deal
I am 6 feet 6 inches tall and live in Orlando an need riding protection in hot weather. The highway 21 turbine jacket is a great price for an armored riding jacket for when it is hot out. Its hard to find jackets my size it fits well and looks stylish on and off the bike great bang for the buck.
Cool jacket
Wore it during 90+ weather and it was great.
Cool jacket
Wore it during 90+ weather and it was great.
Small armor pockets
Good quality for the price. Does not fit force field isolator 2 armor pads
This jacket looked ok, but the quality was seriously lacking. Fit was terrible too and although I'm normally a large, I was swimming in this thing.
Better than just a t-shirt!
Bought it for summer specifically and it's the first mesh jacket I've owned. Great quality and fit and to me it was definitely worth having more protection than just a t-shirt in the summer. Still allows for fantastic air flow while allowing you to wear armor.
Best bang for the buck!
Great product. Great value. Pretty unbeatable. Well made good quality. Looks great fits great. Very satisfied.
For my stratoliner this was the best option. It attaches easily and works well. It's great for highway riding.. I got it for the trip to Key West Florida... simple roll and sel it holds then roll back .
Exactly what I Needed
Size large was a perfect fit. What a HUGE difference in keeping me cooler on my +85 degree day riding. I'm a smaller guy at about 5'10" and about 195 lbs. Smaller arms and wrists and larger shoulders and stomach. This jacket left plenty of room in the arms, back/chest and waist areas. I used the middle snap on the arm adjustment and I have no excess material to flap in the wind. Protection is flexible and comfortable. The side arm stripes are BLACK, not grey as they may appear in the product photos. Could use an extra internal pocket, only has one internal Napoleon pocket.
Love it, plenty of airflow on a warm day
Great jacket
This is an awesome jacket very good for the summer lots of ventilation I?m not that heavy
Great jacket. Great protection and let’s the air in nicely. Also about 30% less than comparable item at my local Harley store.
They run very small, and no tall sizes. At least not available when I ordered. There should be a better way to to attach inner liner to sleeves. The price was good, and it should be fine for my use.
A great jacket.
I'm new to riding, and this is the jacket I'm currently wearing during the summer. I have no complaints. It's wonderfuly breezy, has great airflow and is all around comfortable to wear. I guess the one thing I don't like about it is the silver inlining; when attached to the jacket (or even worn under and unattached), the silver is completely out of color coordination; the back, against the jacket is fine. Otherwise, I love it.
Nice
Its nice but the protection is low
Just what I needed
This jacket is exactly what I was wanting for a first timer. Very affordable entry level product for someone just starting out. I didn't want to spend my whole gear budget in one place so this was a nice place to start. <br />I haven't been able to use the jacket without the liner yet due to barely getting in the 60's. It seems like a lot of air is already moving through it though. I can't wait for warmer weather to get out and stay cool with this.<br />The large fits a bit loose on my chest and midsection but they don't offer it in a tall for my longer arms. I'm 6'0" and 165#. <br />Overall I'm confident this will be a great lasting jacket.
My one and only.
I'm a new rider who started this summer off with hot July parking lot drills. This jacket will keep you cool with little effort. It is comfortable and fits true to size with adjustment straps in the forearms and waist. There is ample arm and shoulder protection plus the ability to insert a back protection. This jacket will carry me from beginner rider and beyond a favorite go to armor. Thank you Highway 21.
Not bad
I ordered w/out checking the The sizing chart. I'm almost always an XL. But this was just too tight in the chest. If your more than 46 then it won't fit. Too bad because I really liked it. Couldn't test it on the road because I needed to return it but if you fit into the right sizing I don't think you'll be sorry.
Decent fit, great airflow.
This jacket has excellent airflow and cooling, it even kept me cool during 8hr days in the sun with very little riding (and most of it was very low-speed). <br />Seems quite durable (as far as mesh jackets go) and is lightweight.<br />My only complaint is that it's kinda tight in the shoulders and a bit short in the torso, as the hem doesn't even reach my belt (though I'm fairly large, about 6'3").<br />The ONLY reason I would return this is to get one size larger.
Love the jacket
Got it for my son for his birthday. He loves it
Overall Great
I love the jacket so far! Nice air flow, and has great durability. It might be my body, but the torso seems just a little bi short and the arms just a little bit long. The sizing is the only problem Ive had with it.
