Kuryakyn Backrests F — Harley-Davidson Softail Heritage Classic, Softail Fat Boy, Softail (1983-2026)

Kuryakyn should have a setup for a bike that has the saddle bag bar installed. I had to pick up some extra long bolts that would allow me to bolt bar and backrest mounts so that everything was tight. This was a load of one star for sure. No mention in the description that it does not work with saddle bag bar and no offering for additional parts to make it work. Loss if another star because once installed the backrest bars were a bit too wide to fit the brackets easily. U had to loosen both side brackets in order to fit the backrest bars into the brackets. Once tightened up again it is impossible to remove back rest when you want to ride without it. Overall after final adjustments back rest is very comfortable. I do like the zip pocket on back of rest. Comes in handy to carry charging cords or extra battery's for phone/ cameras.. I do recommend this product, but beware if you have a saddle bag bar installed.

Great Backrest. This is a second one for our other 2014 Softtail. They hold up great and love that you can push them down to make it easier to get on the bike!

Sat a little farther forward than was comfortable but with some adjustments it is much better. Quality of the product was very good.

The attached backrest really sits a little too far back to carry a passenger comfortably

This was on my 06 Heritage when I bought my bike. At first it was leaning to far forward for me, but take the hinge bolt out and turn the pad around. Which causes the pad to give me more of a lad back but a lot more comfortable for me. My heritage still has the factory bags on her as well. Previous owner used spacers to push the bags away from the frame so the backrest can be mounted. I would recommend this back rest. And if you don't want it on during a ride, you can pull it off and it fits in the bags lol.

The way this mounts ,I can not use my saddle bags. So I would like to exchange this product for a solo seat with a backrest. Mustang #800-332. For a 2004 softail fxsti

very comfortable,sleek & elegant in looks

Installed this on my 1996 clean. It moved me to far forward but after turning the back pad mount 180 degrees and then installing the bar 180 degrees opposite the back pad was located farther back and placed everything in a comfortable position with no bending or machining. Still plenty of room for my passenger also.

Fast delivery. This Driver Back Rest pitched me to far foreword and had no flection in the recoil. I found it to be more like a wall. I returned it and they were gracious about it.

Installed on a 1994 H-D Heritage Softtail. Had to remove the saddlebags and loosen the side guards. Also had to use bolts that were 1/2" longer that stock. Other than that, it went on easy and was adjustable as advertised. Total time 1 hour

with some modifications this back rest transformed my harley into a sofa like comfort, very happy

Kuryakyn quality is second to none and that's why I settled for this product. It seemed expensive but I'm very glad I went with my gut. Very stout, awesome chrome, easy to install and cool little pocket built into the back of the b-rest. One thing you need to know..this will straighten your back and you will ride more forward. If this is not your style you'll need to bend this baby a little towards the rear of your bike. I did this with little trouble. Now comfy & I can ride all day !<br /><br />Hafton<br />Bremerton, WA

Pretty nice product, although rather pricey for what it is. Backrest frame needed spacers to fit on the bike, and I had to grind the angle adjusting nut that is welded to the frame to allow the backrest to lean back slightly. It was leaning way to far forward.
