Why not vent directly into the air cleaner?

Crankcase venting through the cylinder heads expels oil mist along with the vapors. Venting directly into the air cleaner leaves an oily residue on the side of the bike and fouls the filter.

Can I run this open to the air?

Yes — the hose can be routed upward and out to the atmosphere. Oil mist will be expelled into the air rather than recirculated into the engine.

Is there a catch tank option?

Yes — Kuryakyn offers an optional catch tank for riders who prefer a closed-system vent instead of venting directly to air.

Will this fit my 2000+ Harley?

No — this kit is for 1993-1999 models only. Harley changed the breather boss configuration starting in 2000.
