I WAS the Metzeler guy..
I was the Metzeler guy. I ride a Harley Streetglide like a sport bike, and many people came to me for recommendation. I was a big fan of the Metzeler 800 series. Ran two or three sets. Dunlops and Avons are good tires. Metzeler are better. Everyone with Avons took some talkingg to get to Metzeler - and then comes back and says "wow". But this is a Michelin review, right?

Metzeler 888 is a decent tire. The Cruise Tec was where I wanted to go but no 18 inch tire. So after MUCH research I went to the new Michelin Commander III. The threes are new, the II"s are highly regarded. I want it all, good handling and good mileage doesn't hurt. So I did my first long ride.
1) Great handling. Even. I'm a good enough rider that I can tell when the Metzeler on my Deuce are gripping harder in front than back or vice versa. These provide exceptional deep into a turn handling.
2) A tremendous surprise out of these tires with stiff carcases for long mileage, they #$%^& ride awesome.
3) We did Jersey to PA. Best tires ever on Metal bridges.
4) They are great on my pet peave they don't follow road imperections or tar strips.

If these tiree come close to the prediction of 20,000 miles Michelin says they can reach they should be a 7 on a scale of 1-5. Highly recommended.
Slight vibration
Ok. I think the Michelin Commander III tires. Big improvement over stock tires.

When aired to the recommended pressure of the 2016 RGS, I get a slight vibration when going straight on the center of the tire when I lean ever so lightly to the left or right the vibration goes away. Nice and smooth. When I straighten back up, the vibration starts again. Almost like the tires are too hard. When I reduce the pressure to 28 to 30 lbs, the vibration is gone.
Good tire worth the money. Will buy again
Excellent Tires
I ride 8-10,000 miles a year and have gotten more that 10,000 miles on these tires.
noisy tire
Noisy front tire. Feels and sounds like a truck tire at 55mph. Not the same as the amazing Commander II's.
Best tire
I ride vn1700 I used 130/90/16 on front and 180/60/16 they out last elit3 a lot better ride with commander 3
GREAT TIRES!!!!
The tires are stylish not a huge issue but looks do matter lets be honest. I have not rode in active rain but in the wet just after rain they do great.

There is no balance mark cause they are balanced tires so they do not offset an unbalanced wheel so you may need more weights to balance than with other tires.

I have rode aggressive 70+ MPH on 35 mph corners. strong lean but not maximum and they dont struggle at all and this is on a 2015 roadking with a fering and tour pack.

These will be my next tire also only put about 200 miles on them so I cant comment on tread life
bad quality control from Michelin
Bad quality control from Michelin front tire can not be balanced properly, evidently it was a known issue.
Horrible vibration at 35 and 75 to 80. Wish I still had my old cupping II on the front.
So far so good
Have only put around 1100 miles but so far more grip than c2s
I’ve been a Michelin tire user for many years, and they’ve always set a high bar for ride quality and confidence on my Harley-Davidson touring bikes. When the original Commander 3 first came out, I’ll be honest, the early harmonic vibration reviews gave me pause. Because of that, I decided to try a competitor’s touring tire instead.

After running those for a while, I recently made the switch back and installed the Michelin Commander 3 – 2nd Generation Touring on my 2022 Harley Ultra Limited, and I’m genuinely impressed.

Whatever refinements Michelin made between the early Commander 3 feedback and this 2nd generation clearly worked. The ride is smooth, stable, and confidence-inspiring at highway speeds, with noticeably improved feel compared to my previous setup. Handling feels planted in sweepers, straight-line tracking is excellent, and road feedback is controlled without being harsh. Any concerns I once had about harmonics are completely gone on my bike.

Overall, this tire feels like a true evolution of the Commander line and a solid upgrade for heavy touring motorcycles. Based on this experience, I won’t hesitate to stick with Michelin going forward. I’m already planning to purchase another set of Commander 3 2nd Generation Touring tires for my Road King.

Highly recommended for riders looking for a smooth, dependable touring tire from a brand that continues to listen and improve.
Best tire for my Road King
Ran 4 sets of Commander II on my Road King and the are the best tire on the market. 14 years of living and riding in the mountains of Colorado earned these tires my best rating. Heat, rain, slush, road snakes and high mountain passes proved their traction, smoothness and longivity-21K on one set. I just put a set of Commander III on and can't wait to see how the improved model preforms. I have tried many different brands- Metzler, Dunlop Elites, and the Michelin Commanders are my pic. Love touring this beautiful country.
Good mileage and wear at over 10k
I've had these on my 2019 Ultra since last year some time and now I've put some miles on them across country. The wear is good and I feel very confident while riding through corners and rain. They have worn well. On a side note (no pun intended) they do produce a notable "whir" sound right at 50mph and then simmer down at 55mph but the noise is definitely there too at higher speeds but not as pronounced. I did not have that on the Commander II's. I'd give them a 5 star if there wasn't the noise at 50MPH.
Michelin Commander III Touring Tire Vibration
Rumors are true, front touring tire suffers from a harmonic, with my bike, between 55-60MPH when the bike is vertical, once the bike comes off vertical, the harmonic disappears. Rear tire has presented no issues. A real shame since the Michelin Commander series has such a stellar reputation.
Good only if you never ride in the rain
These tire wear well and grip is good in dry conditions. However, they don't grip well when wet. I get caught in the rain a lot and need a tire that can handle wet conditions, and these aren't it.
Best tires hands down
I have been running Michelin Commander III's since they came out, I ran the Commander II's before that. I swear by these tires, I get over 20,000 miles out of them by using Counteract balance beads and checking air pressure regularly. I ride very aggressive and lean enough to scrape floorboard brackets off. I ride obstacle course competitions and live on the Snake on 421, so I ride a lot and I ride every day all year long. These tires are the best hands down in wet and dry conditions, plus, unlike several of the cheap tires, they are rated for the Harley big bikes. You paid a lot for that Harley, don't get cheap when it comes to your tires!
2016 Streetglide
These tires were rated number one by Roadrunner Travel for wet weather, stopping distance, overall control, etc they way outperform the stock Dunlop?s on Harley touring. I have about 600 miles on them from riding the Dragon and in the rain, etc and I am very happy with them. They stick like glue in the rain and cornering is very forgiving.
Good tires
Ive put 150 miles so far and I can feel the difference from donlop these are smooth going down the highway and I can feel the stickiness in the tires. I do recommend these
Best prices around. I won't use anybody else!!!
Tire review
Just put these puppies on but Im loving the control I feel
Worth it
I put 10,000 on this tire. Rode way past what I was supposed to with occasional burnout ??. Worth every penny.
Longevity for sure
This is my 2nd Commander 3 rear tire. And my last bike had a Commander 2. All three were over 20,000 miles.
New Commander III Touring front tire for my 2019 HD Heritage Soft Tail
Just replaced my tires on my 2019 HD Heritage Soft Tail with Michelin Commander III Touring tires. First thing I noticed was the cornering and lean angle of the bike was smoother than the previous tires (HD Dunlop tires). I went with the Touring instead of the Cruiser model due to some negative reviews on the Cruiser tire. It's still too early to give them a decent review since I only have about 500 miles on them. Have not ridden in rain since it's been really dry in El Paso. But for the most part, the tires are performing smoothly, no wobble or noise. Treadwear looks great also.
Go for it!
To begin, I hope this helps someone on the fence about these tires. I'm certainly glad I've purchased a set of Commander III's.

I own a 2016 Street Glide, and over the years I've run both HD and Dunlop tires (same compounds, just different tread patterns). Being a creature of habit, and not one for change, I've shied away from any other brands. Many of my friends had made the switch, and were very happy, but I remained loyal to the HDs.

I almost purchased a set of Commander II series tires the last time around and became skeptical after hearing rumors of warbling with Commander III. Nevertheless, I decided to take a chance after owning a set of Michelin truck tires and being extremely happy!

I love them! Sticky to the road, great ride, very stable. I'm more comfortable in tight turns, and honestly, it completely changed the feel of my bike-for the better!

I have no regrets, other than I wish I'd purchased them sooner. Go for it!
Buzz/Vibration on Center
Those reviews you read about a buzz/vibration/whirr when the tire is running on center? Every single one of them is true. As soon as you lean off center the tire is sticky and smooth, but when you stand back up it goes right back to buzzing and you feel it in the bars on a Goldwing. The problem is the tread siping as the sound becomes more pronounced when heavily front tire braking. I love Michelin but I absolutely cannot stand this tire. I've got 6800 miles on it now and it's starting to get close to the wear bars. It might make it to the 8500 miles the previous factory Dunflop did. The Dunflop invoked a horribly annoying bar wobble whereas this Michelin buzzes horribly on center. Hopefully I'll find a tire that just rides true without wobbling or vibrating, because this one ain't it.
The last set of commander 3 , I got 25,000 miles on front and rear tires. So I decided to buy them again
Quality tire. Rides really well.
Tread on me
Confidence and stability wet or dry. This is my second set.
Junk
As soon as Input these in picked up a buzz vibration in handle bars from about 15mph thru 50mph. Lean either way it goes away. Michilin wouldn't do anything about it. Wont ever buy Michilin again
The Michelin Commander III tires give better handling than the original tires offered on the Harley. I feel like a better rider.
Better grip than the original Dunlops. I feel like I am a better rider since turning appears to be easier with better road feel.
Commander III Touring
They look awsome but the comander 2s where way better had more tred design and handles alot better the tires scare me going over road snakes I've been riding along time and wish I had the comander 2s I could not find them when I was shopping for tires
Immense difference
I've only ridden them a relatively low amount of miles so far (about 200 miles) but so far they are great. Of course, the older tires deteriorate slowly so the real deterioration of old tires happens almost un-noticed. I changed my tires when I started hearing roaring in turns which turned out to be scalloping on my old tires. The change, of course, was immense. The new tires track beautifully. They are smooth, the corner well and there is no 'howling' in cornering. However, I also changed the shocks at the same time so the ride is COMPLETELY improved. Between the Ohlins shocks and the new tires my bike is transformed. An added benefit is that the new shocks were slightly longer than my 'collapsed' stock shocks resulting in a new feel to the front end. Oversteer is gone and the bike carves the curves like a sport bike.
Excellent product.
Love them so far. Big upgrade from the American elites. Far superior on wet pavement, tar snakes etc. glad i switched!
Commander III
I was excited to try the Michelin Com 3?s after riding 300k miles on Dunlop?s. Loved the look, and the handling, but the tread pattern on my 17in. front was defective and caused the bike a high intensity vibration when bike was going straight. In the turns the vibration stopped. Michelin paid for my Dunlop replacements after putting 3k mi. On the 3?s. If they get the tread pattern defect straightened out, I?d be willing to try them again, until then the Dunlops are quite good really, in wet or dry.
tire replacement
WOW - Outstanding, Major improvement from original tires. Had to ride home from having them installed in a light rain and could really feel the improvement in the handling
.
Like the rear but the front needs Michelin's work on reducing vibration.
I put these on my 2013 Electra Glide and took it on a 2400 mile trip, including tail of the dragon and other roads in the Deals Gap area...in the rain. They did well. I don't have a report on mileage yet. But I can say the front produced a noticeable vibration when going dead straight. Get off top center on the front and the vibration goes away completely. For the money I would think Michelin would have given me a tire that does not do this. It's not just an annoyance really. Wheel and head stock bearings don't really like vibration. I'm sure the levels are not that big of a deal but no vibration is better. It is damped out by the time it hits my grips but it is still noticeable. So my plan is to focus on the pretty countryside going by and try a different tire when this front has lived its life.
New version of a great tire
I just bought and mounted the Commander III tires. They replaced a set of well worn Commander IIs. The C2s lasted about 24,000 miles although I probably should have replaced them a few thousand miles sooner. My only issue with the C2s is the rear started cupping. I hope that the C3s will not do that. Love the way the C2s felt and gripped on the bike and have high hopes for the C3s.
I ride a '16 Indian Chieftain.
Nice rideing
Smooth riding, good wet weather traction, quiet.
Great wet weather traction compared to the commander II , I only have about 6,000 miles on these tires but hands down the best motorcycle tires I have rode on
Everything you would expect fro a Michelin tire. Tires are everything on a motorcycle and these are the best.
Great touring tires
Great tire for touring bikes. Long tread life, good traction. Only tires I run.
love this tire put 400 miles on it so far. No complaints. Rides so much better than the Dunlap.
I've been using these for a few years. They dont go as many miles as some other brands; but the ride is smooth and my back tire stays glued to the road in dry and wet conditions.
Vibration from the tire
Amazing tire
I've been running the Michelin Commander III tires and they're easily some of the best tires I've owned yet. I got about 13,000 miles out of my last set, which is impressive by itself, but what really stands out is the grip.

These things feel incredibly planted, especially in the corners-you can really lean into them with confidence and they just hold. Whether it's cruising or pushing it a bit on twisty roads, they've been solid all around.

Definitely a tire I'll keep going back to.
Michelin Commander 3
Second one I have put on my bike. TriGlide goes 15,000 miles on these. Smooth, quiet and durable tire.
Best tires on the market in think
Is perfect the motorcyvle run perfect and smuth
Good Grip, smoother ride and gave more clearance( taller)
Sticky
I put these tires to the test on my 23 Street Glide bagger! Coming from sport bikes, track riding and canyon carving. I have tested and pushed these tires beyond the limits of my bike. Ive scraped my engine case, header tubes, and full slip ons. These tires held and did not let go!!! I think I have a little over 10k miles of hard riding on them and probably 2k more to go.
Tires and California are a rip off Arizona is way cheaper
Your employees were awesome said I'd have it and I did for my ride the following day and it was a fantastic trip
Great tire so far
Seem to be really well built tire just over 2,000 miles on them all 2up. Seem to grip really well in the twisty’s bag dragging not a problem down the highway really well planted and sure footed no complaints as of yet we’ll see how the wear.🤞🏻
Michelin Commander III
So far I have over 22000 miles on my back tire mounted on my 14 Harley Limited. So happy.
Too old
The tire was built in the 47th week of 2019. Over 5 years ago. Stale! Hard! Old!
Great tires
My second set replaced the first set had 27,000 and could have another 3,000 out of them. The handle is amazing
Michelin commander lll
I've put a few thousand miles on these tires now and I got to say they are by far some of the best tires out there . Performance and handling is great . The ride is outstanding
Smooth as glass
I have had them on for less than a week and I am thoroughly impressed. Smooth as glass on the highway and breakneck speeds and looks great! They are on a 17' Victory Magnum.
Michelin Commander tires are awesome!
Great Tire for anyone to buy and use
2019 streetglide front tire
I will start by saying this is a good tire for certain applications. Great grip traction on wet or dry pavement. I wait to write tire reviews until I've had some serious mileage put on them. After 2000 miles the tread started to wear unevenly. I religiously check my tire pressures before I ride anywhere and I follow the recommended 40 psi for the tire. At 3000 it has a bad cupping issue with the tread on both sides just off the center. This causes a vibration in the handlebars and a whirring noise when in the curves. Not sure if it's isolated to just this tire or if I got a new one if it would do the same. But with only 3000 miles that's unacceptable for me. I know people that run this tire on a heritage softail and it's a great tire for them lasting well over 7000 miles and still in great shape. Good luck.
III's
This is my third set of these. I think they ride well (FLHX). The mileage you are from this is great.
Received a defective tire
SOLID upgrade for tires
Just added so my 08 suzuki boulevard a few weeks ago so far I love the feel of the tires. I feel comfortable leaning into my turns not a huge difference that I've noticed as far as vibration or road noise maybe slightly to the positive side. Rode with them in the rain and felt comfortable as well. They're not cheap but I do think they're worth the price as far as I have seen I will update in a few thousand miles. Good luck and safe riding to all.
Michelin Commander III Tires
I’ve purchased pretty much every other brand out there for the multiple baggers I’ve owned & the Michelin’s are far & away the best performing & longest lasting I’ve owned. I’ll purchase them exclusively from now on.
Longest lasting tires!
Felt like a new motorcycle! My last tires lasted over 19K miles and I owned motorcycles over 32 years and these tires are the best and last the longest of any tire.
Great Tire
I'm a believer! exellent traction and longevity. My last front replaced at 26K. My current rear is almost at the wear bars at 24K No cupping front or rear. I run 40psi front 42psi rear on my 2019 Ultra Limited. They are pricey but worth it!
This tire is uncomfortable. Very difficult to balance for some reason. I like the tread and the look of the tire, but at higher speeds tinds to bounce a lot
Excellent tire
Bought this tire on the recommendations of a friend and my mechanic couldn’t be more happy with it just got back from a 3300 mile trip. Can’t even tell it’s been on the bike extremely pleased with it will purchase another for the front when the front one goes out I highly recommend the Michelin commander three
Awesome Tires
Great tire, matches the back that I previously put on. Seems to really grip the road in tight turns.
Great tire I would buy it again
Long rain days with zero issues
Just rode through the worst storms that declared state of emergency’s in 3 states In the Northeast with zero issues in traction.
Commander III tires
Michelin makes an awesome tire.
I’ve ran Commander II’s for years.
This is the first set of Commander III’s I’ve had.
So far they are great.
Highly recommend.
Kirby
Great tire with long life
Slippery when new
Never laid my bike over in 30+ years until I bought
These tires a went down within 50 yards after getting them put on.
Going back to Dunlop American Elite
I have the Commander 3 on my 2009 1200C Sportster and am going back to Dunlop American Elite.....had the dunlops on prior to the commanders and the dunlops are an all around better tire.
bad tires
Put these on my 2015 Road Glide. traction is great, handling very good. but I experienced a vibration in the 30 mph,and 50-60 MPH ranges. I originally thought it was my wheel bearings since I did not replace them. Started second guessing. Other things, motor mounts, brake rotors, took a while but finally realized it is the tire. Very expensive experience.
I have an 07 Heritage softail.... I have less than 50 miles on this tire so.....we shall see
Good price and good quality.
I got the shipping confirmation after 1 month of placing my order, hope next time not to face the same issue.
Good price and good quality.
I got the shipping confirmation after 1 month of placing my order, hope next time not to face the same issue
I?ll get them again
Great wear life. I?m up to 7000 miles and they still look new. Wet weather grip isn?t too good though so slow down a little and you?ll be fine. They handle great in the dry. I?ll be getting another set when the time comes.
Great tires!
Great tires! I love the way they grip and handle the road. I only have about 1000 miles on them but so far am very pleased with my purchase.
Best tire for me I ride a lot . Live in Phoenix so wet traction is not a Real problem for me
20k out of my last set could have probably got 30k
Great trike tire
Love it on my 2021 Tri Glide. Smooth and quiet and on the trike less skipping in a hard turn at 30 mph+ I easily expect 12000 miles before I have to replace it. Stock HD Dunlop I had to replace at 8600 miles
Very happy with the product and service. Next day delivery for standard shipping price is great
New Michelin Commander III has a very smooth ride. My wife as my passenger is the expert about how our bike rides while sitting right over that rear tire. She says that the ride on the new tire is the best. We usually have to change tires once a year at about 25k miles. We will get to see how far we go on this one.
Alternative
Great tire. If it ain't Metzler then it's these commander III's
They look good, feel good and they hold just fine in corners. Satisfied!
Loved the first set, hopefully seond as good?
I just ordered my second set.

The set I have on now has 20k flawless (other than buzz) miles on them and still look like easily another 4-5k to go.

But with the Russia situation going on now, I better get them now while still available.

I'll keep the old ones as backups for whatever reason.

Can't go wrong with these once get get past the slight buzz.
Michelin Commader III'S.
Love my new tires. Bike rides like new again.
Commander is my tire
I look how this tire handle on my 2020 RGL. The provides amazing grip on wet roads. Commander is the only tire for me
Outstanding tire. My foot boards dont care for them, with those tires have no give in hard lean turns. High recommend!
God Bless!
Not yet
Just bought the back tire and haven't had the chance to mount the pair. Had great mileage out of the Commander IIs on my last Harley Road King.
Awesome tires
Just upgraded from the MC II to the MC III and I could immediately notice the difference in the ride and handling of my 2015 Street Glide. Let's hope it lives up to the mileage that they claim these new tires have. So far love these tires.
Once you go to Michelin Commander you will never go back.
Love the ride a Michelin commander tire gives instead of Dunlap tires.
Got 28,000 miles on my first Michelin Commander 2 tire.
Happy with this tire choice
Handles well and has a very smooth ride
Michelin
Ride and handle much better than the Dunlops. Rear Dunlop lasted 23,000. I will see how long these last.
Best Ive ridden on in almost 50 years of riding!
Absolutely awesome tires, so far! Rode to DC on them for Memorial Day, then went to the mountains last weekend. They do very well in both environments. Im very impressed with how they handle. Hopefully, the mileage will be as good as the Commander IIs were.
Commander III Touring
Best handling tires out there for Harley Touring Bikes!
I'll never go back to Dunflops or other brands ! WOW THESE ARE THE BEST ALL AROUND TIRES YOU CAN BUY !
Satisfied Customer
I have a 2012 hd ultra classic and installed new Michelin Commander III tires on my bike a few weeks ago. I love my new tires. The handling is so much better. I have not rode on wet rides yet, but I?m sure they?ll be just as good. I would definitely recommend these tires to other riders.
Good tire.
Good tire, seems to hold up alright. Holds tight in curves.
They grip good on the twisties!!
From the freeways and deserts in Southern California to the back roads in Northern Michigan these tires handled perfect in all conditions.
Waited almost a year to get these but worth it
Worked will on my Yamaha roadliner
Like my new Commander 3s
I really liked the appearance of the new tires on my HD Electra Glide. Nice clean look. First thing I noticed on my test ride after installing them was the improved handling. Steering felt a little lighter and when leaning into the turns the transition from vertical into a lean was smoother and more assuring than the factory provided tires. Cant wait to see Ho they do on a ride in the mountains.
Com 3
Tires have done an amazing job for the last 6k miles. They did take a little while to scrub in but once that top layer of new wore off the amount of traction and control is out of this world. Also have notice tread depth has not varied much but also realize not that many miles yet.
Awesome tires
Best part is they are less than a year old by week and year stamp on them both rather than sending out of date tires pretty awesome to detail to me thank y'all
Some good tires
I am very happy with these tires. They feel great on the road. I'd buy them again. Tread life is to be determined over time and mileage. Wet traction has not been put to the test.
Michelin commander 3
Superb tire performance and longevity. So far working perfectly on my honda Rebel 1100T
Have not had a chance to put but 20 miles on yet, so far so good.
Awesome tires!!!!!!!!!
These are the only tires I would buy period.
Iv'e been running these for years on my 2012 Road Glide can't say anything bad about them. I typically do between 5 and 8 thousand miles a year. So I get 3 to 4 years out of them happy with that. A good all around year tire in my opinion I'm in CT
Michelin commander 3 touring for rebel 1100T
The mich C3 tires are very good. Much better then the oem dunlops that were on the rebel 1100. They are more grippy than the dunlops. I am hoping to get more than the 7k miles on my dunlops. I would recommend these for any rebel 110 model.
Looks great feels even better
Perfect for my riding style
Great Tire Michelin Commander 3
Unbelievable! After 10 years of complaining about a severe wobbling / handling problems with my 2016 Ultra Limited Low and more guess work than you can imagine from Bowling Green, Kentucky Harley Davidson who is the absolute worst dealership in the U.S. and never solved the problem I decided to try a new set of Commander 3s and I am absolutely thrilled!
No more handling problems whatsoever. My Harley is well planted and just falls into the curves like it should! I can't say thank you enough to Michelin for a Great Tire the Commander 3! Everyone who rides a Harley needs to purchase a set whether the Touring or the Cruiser version! You will be more than pleasantly impressed!
Thoroughly satisfying
My 1st set of new tires, I love them! Handles great in the corners and on the open road, doesn't track hard in the ruts like my old tires did. A very happy rider for sure! Thank you!!!! BURNZY
Grip & Durability
Great tire. Wish they made they make a commander 3 cruiser in 120/70/21. I got the commander 3 touring in front because I needed that size. Commander 3 cruiser in the rear because I needed that size. Both are great tires that I ditched the AE3 for. Good grip & durability from these Michelin Commander 3s!
Great tires and service.
Took the bike out for the first time with these new tires and they gripped the road well.
Only true negative is wet weather handling.
I ride in all kinds of conditions the Commander III does the job. I currently have 20k on my set. Only draw back is wet weather riding. The front tire tracks well but the back tire is a different story. I would say in rain a 25 percent negative difference compared to stock Harley Dunlop rear tire wet pavement handling. I would get 10k out of stock Harley tires. I'm still getting another set of Commander III's due to the longevity. Keep the pressure up and enjoy 2x the mileage. Only reason for 4 stars is wet weather handling. I ride an average of 30k a year for last 10 years.
Good tires
Still can't believe the difference in my ride.
Rides better than when it was new!! Got dide of the high speed wobble
Commander 3 tires
Had Commander 2 tires on bike, they were old for tires built in 2022, rear end locked up too easy, rear tire cracked in several places. New tires way better. Traction seems pretty good, handle well, wearing good so far. Wet we a ther traction seems good. H a ppy with these tires so far.
Great tire, grippy!
Great tire, I find my low speed balance more steady than the original Dunlop my RGS came with. I've got 500miles on it so far and I found that this tire I was very grippy, I use to be able to smoke the tire in 1st gear and now it's all traction. Overall I'm very happy. Can't go wrong with Michelin. Have not ridden in the wet yet so time will tell.
Weekend Warrior Approved
Running these on my 2023 bagger for local rides, and they've been a solid choice. Great grip, smooth cornering, and the bike feels planted when ripping around town. Haven't had the experience in wet weather, but the ride is comfortable without feeling soft. Wear has been super even and rounded so far.

Perfect tires for local blasting and weekend rides. Highly recommend!
Great tire. Seems super grippy like the design. Can't wait to get some miles on it. Let's see how well it wears up in these mountains.I live in. Thanks a lot, Martin.
Silvia
I’ve never been more satisfied with this brand.
Arrived next day after ordering front & rear. Packed nicely. Noticed a better ride immediately over the stock Dunlops. Bike is a 2021 RG LIMITED. Haven't been in the rain yet or traveled far because I just put them on 100 miles in
Awesome Tire
This is my choice for the front on my Yamaha Royal Star Venture, lots of miles without giving up the great handling.
The bike rides smoother and turns better.
Great tire price of tire is a little expensive
Outstanding tire I road in the rain excellent traction and control
Another CIII on the bike
Got the tire today. It looked good without any defects that I could see. The test in the pudding will be to install it and start putting miles on it. Took the wheel and tire to an Indy Shop to install it.
If it is as good as my last CIII it will be a good one.
So far....so good!
Great handling and grip. Like them...so far.
Great tires on wet or dry for those that ride hard
So far the best tires I've run on my bikes. The gen 2 Commander 3's are outstanding on dry or wet roads for those that really ride hard and mileage can't be beat!
Definitely the only tires I'll run, unless they do something to "new and improve" which usually just screws them up!
Had over 15.5K on front and rear and still lots of tread. Had to replace the rear due to a screw but still running the front.
Meh
Not as good as the old Commander II. Wouldn't buy them again. They are a little squirrely.
These completely changed how my bike handled I guess my old ones looked good, but we're hard
Good tire worked well in the rain after 3200 miles
Love tires and the prices! Couldn't be more happy!
They are great They handle the road on tight turns and a smooth ride on the straightaway. The wife loves them. They work well in the rain
My go to tires
These tires are the 5th set of Michelin Commander III’ s I’ve purchased. They are by far the longest lasting, best wet/ dry traction and handling tires I’ve used in 58 years of riding. So far the highest mileage set made it to 25,000 miles, usually unheard of for motorcycle tires. The bikes I have/ had them on:

V Star 1100
V Star 1300
Bolt R Spec
Stratoliner S
Vulcan 900 Custom

Definitely recommend.
I needed a tire & this one matched the one on the back ..
Better than Dunlap
Great tires, good traction
Tears in tires
I have a Harley Davidson Lowrider ST I think the tires might not like the torque my bike puts out there are tears on the ends of my rear tire. I'm a older rider so no smoking tires but I'm a little disappointed with the tears with only 2-3 k miles
Pau better attention
Tires are great and a good price. I did have cycle great mount and balance the tires. I would suggest that they clean the wheels off when they stick the weights on. After putting the rear tire back on I found the weights stuck to my shop floor and couldn't find any markings of where they were placed before. I had to take it off take it to a local shop (I live an hour away) and get it rebalanced
trying a new brand of tire
been running Dunlops for a while but decided to try the Michelins. Only a few miles on it so far but seems to perform great
Long Haul tire
I have yet to put the new tire on! The old tire is a Commander 3 with 15,500 miles and still at 4/32’s.
Tire
Just purchase only been on bike once 180 mile trip. Love it.
Exceptional tire
il ike these tires better than Dunlap, cornering, handling much improved, i will see if they last as long as the stock Dunlap tires.
The metal Bead broke when I was putting it on the just tire spoons
So far so good,I think I made a great decision.
I have a repair shop for Harleys and I always recommend mechlelin tires most of my customers really like these tires u always have the riders that u couldn’t please if unhungry them with anew rope LOL
Great Tires
Super smooth ride love my new Commander Tires 🛞
Way better than the stock Harley tires.
Riding on a 2020 CVO Limited (full bagger). The stock tires had about 13,000 on them and had significant wear. No burnouts and limited back road twisty's on them. The last 5,500 miles was a trip to Sturgis mostly highway miles two up full bags. I'm about 190 wife is about 130 with 30-40lb of gear.

I switched to the Michelin Commander III Touring tires before a cross country trip. We put 8,500 miles two up same weights. Another 1,000 mile trip same weights. And some misc riding around town. Ive put about 10,000 on these tires and they are showing very little wear. We've been in pouring rain, snow fall at high elevations and the dragons tail route 129 most recently. Hands down this tire crushes the stock tires. You won't regret this purchase. At the center most point of the tire I still have 3/16 tread depth. That'll easily net another 10,000 of two up riding.
Nice tire.
Always like the Michelins.
Perfect tire. Very little time to install.
Plenty expensive, but I assume it'll wear very well for the price. Grip seems to be pretty good, and it looks good too.
Just trying a new tires I haven’t ridden it in the rain yet but feel great on dry pavement.
It's like driving a forklift over cobblestone
Extremely harsh ride. To me it seems like they prioritized longevity over everything else. It is an extremely stiff tire that transfers every little bump from the road to the rider, losses traction in situations that the factory tire on my bike wouldn't. I'm sure it will last being a hard compound, but shouldn't the point of a good touring tire be something that will be comfortable in order to do the long miles. I've got a set of these on my 14 Street glide, with nothing changed except for going from the factory Dunlop to these Michelins the bike went from a rolling lazy boy to a rattle box that will shake your teeth out.
Best Tire Ever.
Best tire ever. Good color thru out the entire mold.
Michelin commander 3 touring tires 2025.
The tires handle great, no vibration or noise.
Good customer service… they answered every question I had
Good customer service… they answered every question I had
Ok
I guess the ordering process was fine, the tires should up in a timely manner. Just being sent one year old tires doesn't seem right to me unless the price was prorated. It wasn't. I definitely wouldn't have bought these off a shelf from a brick and mortar shop.
Great tire and customer service
Great tire, great price, great customer service! I always like supporting my local stores.
Michelin commander 3- top tier tires for cruisers
Excellent tire. Long lasting and great road feel.
New Michelins
Tires arrived on time in new condidtion
I really like these tires the ride is smooth and I really feel safe again in my cornering and riding in the wet roads. Awesome tires for a full dresser.
very nice tire rides great
Michelin Commander 3s are Excellent!
I ride a 2003 Kawasaki Voyager and am getting another Michelin Commander 3 front tire. Put 20,000 miles over 4 years on the one I"m replacing. I've road in all kinds of conditions, except snow and ice, and the tires are excellent. Rear tire is still in great shape so expecting to get 30,000 miles out of it.
Good grip
Best tires I’ve ever tried.

Well the first time I installed them it was on 2021
And I just bought new ones installed them 2 weeks ago. So they held up those years just fine.
Awesome touring tire. Best Buy for the price.
A GreatTire!
In my opinion, the Michelin Commander III touring is a great tire. I get approximately 20,000 - 30,000 miles. It is a great touring tire and I highly recommend it. After ordering the tire from J & P Cycles, I received it within two days. J & P is a great organization which provides great customer service.
Michelin Commander III Tire
Great product and fast delivery!! Recommend!
Good value Excellent service. Easy searching for the parts, especially using the My Vehicle program.
These new tires DOT date is 1 year old 0324
This new tire DOT date is 1 year old 03/24.
I had to mix match the cruise and touring commanders lll because touring does not make 150/80/16
For me Harley Heritage and the cruise commander lll dies not nake a MT 90/16.
Very happy
So far, so good. I've got about 200 miles on them and am very happy with the performance. They give a solid comfortable feel.
I use to run 880's never tried the 888's. This is my first set. Love them so far.
Great in the corners, longer lifespan
I've used the Dunlop Harley rear tires (they lasted 12,000 miles) and the Michelin Commander II rear tire (it lasted 11,000 miles) on my hot 88" Road Glide. Then I tried the Commander III Touring rear tire - it gives me much more confidence in the corners and I'm starting to believe Michelin's claim it will last 25% longer than it's predecessor. All these tires seem to wear out prematurely and be overpriced, but this tire with the aramid cords seems to have the best structure, handling quality and life.
2nd set of tires I got 12500 miles out of them could get more but planning a big trip for july
they are great tires
Tires
The Michelin Commander tires are great they out last all the others I've tried I got over 4 years on my last ones and that's every day use.
Michelin commander 3 touring
2024 harley street glide, from the beginning i felt a slight buzz/vibration in the handlebars. I was hoping it was gonna get better but it only got worse and i now have only 900 miles on the tires. I'll probably change the front tire to a Dunlop and hopefully that will fix the problem. I did not have this buzz in the handlebars with the stock Dunlop tires. 10/18/24
First time buyer for Michelin commander, love it so far and will purchase again. I like the tread design and the feel in curves.
A nice upgrade for your Harley
Corners so much better than a stock Harley tire and we will see how the longevity is
Amazing performance
So far I've only put 300 miles on the tire but the grip on it is insane. The tire grips better than the soft compound Dunlops I had on the bike. Cant wait to see how many miles I can get out of the tire.
Okggfgggggffffgghhjnnbbnnnnnnnn
Michelin Cammander III
This was my 1st time using the Cammander III.
They fit good and ride smoother on my 2010 HD Ultra Limited better then the Cammander II do. I’m satisfied with these tires.
Felt way more stable than the Dunlop elite right off the bat . Fells way more stable in a corner at high speed .
Great Tires
Much improved ride and handling, especially in curves.
Great tire
Michelin finely got there stuff together, balanced out with a few Oz. of weight and no vibration in the handle bars.
I got 18000 miles on the old front tire.
How'bout the tread life?
They look and ride good. Nothing like a new set of tires. How do you review a new set without mowing how they wear?
Great tires
My second set on my HD. They ride great and the last set lasted over 10,000 miles.
Much better in the turns
Wow! What a difference in ride and handling.
Great tires!
Tires were delivered on time. I am really happy with the mileage of the Commander III tires. I got 20K on my first set and expect to achieve this mileage again.
Michelin tires
Terrible heavy vibration ,worst tires I’ve ever purchased !!! I spent 550 dollars on garbage tires ,these are no better than the original Harley dunlops
Good tires so far
I feel like these tires handle road snakes lots better than the stock dunlops did. Took 2.5 oz to balance front and 3oz for back tire. Time will tell on longevity. 2015 Road Glide. Haven’t tried in rain yet.
A good tire so far.
I don’t like to leave feedback before I’ve had time to throughly evaluate the product. But I can truly say this are some great tires. I installed and balanced both tires. And went on a 3100 mile ride in 10 days. The tires handled great and after 3100 miles the tires still look new. Great wear so far. I should look forward to 10,000 plus miles on them. I feel that is good when I’m pulling a small trailer behind my Ultra Classic.
Great Tires, Smooth grippy ride!
Tires ride great! Leans and grips great in the turns, smooth ride at high speeds.
Very Noisy and Rough riding.
Not Happy at all.
These tires are very noisy, and feels rough below 35 mph.

I will probably remove them soon.
What About Those Aggressive Riders...and Their Tires?
JAMES K? Is the abnormal wear you experiencing due to imporoper mounting and balancing? What about any change in riding behavior between previous "rubber" (tires) and what you are doing on the Michellins'?
Something is amiss here as the customer's I've installed these tires on (FLT & FLH-series) ride FAST and AGRESSIVE (switchbacks, hard cornering, long and fast rides and hard stops) and they are certainly not doing what most DUNLOPs do. Which is premature ageing, cracking and splitting, and hard "reduced give" rubber compounds!
Time will tell
They are round and smooth, required very little weight to be added. I now have two sets of them, and one of Michelin's sport series (3 bikes). Time will tell. At the young age of 76 I'm not pushing them as hard as I used to but have been lucky to get 7,000 miles out of ME888's and others. All three are big inch rides but that seems a bit short to me. By all accounts I should double the mileage with them. VTX-F, V-65 Magna, 1050 Sprint.
Must have
Tires are a very noticeable difference and improved performance I highly recommend these for a smoother and steadier ride than oem hd tires
Michelin tires have never let me down, quality, longevity.
Performance
Great tires, excellent traction and performance upgrade to my Road Glide.
Great tire
Great bias belted tire for HD.
Great tires my first impression
I bought these for my 2016 street glide. They feel more motorcycle tire as the dulops seem to be more car tire. These seem more of a round edge feel as the Dunlops had a more square feel. With that being said these are definitely a better track tire and I don't feel as stabile. I feel loose but not slippery loose just not as square stable. I love the tires though I feel the benefits are lost on the touring type bike. But I have less than 100 miles on them so this is just first impressions.
Hassle free ordering, and quick delivery.
I love my Michelin Command three touring tires, on my Road glide. It's smooth and sticky. I know most people want to stay with the Dunlop because it's American made and 1 million+ multiple opinions, but it's no match to the Michelin.
Thank you very much Revziila for your Amazing service.
Great product and service
Great product and very fast shipping. Order clerk was fantastic with helping place the order.
Tires
Looks good and ride good. They should send out these surveys in a year instead of a week. Couldn’t say about tread life or grip when wet.
Haven't gone on my trip yet but so far the tire handles great
Only put a couple thousand miles on these before I sold the bike, but I think the Commander II’s are a better tire.
Wonderful pair of tires (front and back)
Great tires. Having used Dunlop and Bridgestone Battleaxe, these tires are the most useful.

thank you.
As always the Michelin Commander is a great tire.
Like it so far!
Happy so far with the commander 3,been using 2s for 6 years, smoothe on the road, hoping for any miles!
Great grip in the rain
Excellent tire great mileage and grip in the rain
Great touring tire
Great traction and tread life
Seems to be a good tire for me rides great
Nicest tire ever purchased
Very happy with Michelin tires overall
I can only comment on how they look as I haven't finished installing them yet. I recommend them to friends based on my experience with the commander 2's.
The pinnacle
I won't run any other tires on my cruisers or touring bikes. Great wear and traction.
great price, seems ok,its winter, didnt get to ride much.
So much better than Dunlop
I always heard about how good these tires are but this my first time trying them. I had the factory Dunlop tires on my Road King and I could feel everything the road had to offer. Every little crack, every little bubble, everything. These tires smoothed it all right out. It was obvious immediately when I took my first ride with these Michelins. These tires removed the edge off of all the feedback I was used to with the Dunlop tires that were previously on the bike. I now have a much smoother ride and can't wait to put some real miles on these tires!
These are night and day better!
The date code on the front tire is a year older than the rear tire. They should both be up to date

Poor way to do business. Very disappointing
