I do all of my own wrenching on my 2007 Softail and as such I have found measuring with a tape repeatedly is not a very fast way to get it done. This tool makes short work of rear wheel alignment so you can get onto whatever else you need to do.
Wheel alignment tool requires modification
For use with swing-arms that have a small hole near the rear axle where the pointy end fits into, the measurement is so sloppy that it's easy to get wrong. I machined a small block that the point slides through and holds it perpendicular to the swing-arm, that way I am certain that my side-to-side measurements are pretty close. Otherwise, you are going by eye and could be off +/- 0.05". Not sure how crucial this measurement is, but as a machinist, I was offended by how much slop there is but it was easily fixed.

Simple to use and a must have to ensure your rear wheel is aligned properly for best operation. I even use this on my 2013 FLHTC where it has the cam adjusters just to make sure they are working properly and aligning the rear wheel and as designed

Great tool for aligning rear wheel on my sportster and fat boy. However, I wish there was a better way to secure the adjustable axle pin. The thumb screw tends to loosen when you move from one side of the bike to the other.
Great tool, never knew it existed.
Never knew such a think existed. Saw it while purchasing a belt tension tool, do not regret purchasing it. Helped us ensure the rear wheel was exactly where it needed to be. Highly recommend if you do anything that requires removal of the rear wheel.

A bit overpriced for a piece of wire
Not required if you have the DYI skills and tools to creat a tool like this. Again I didn't had patience or tools to create one so bought this and it is very overpriced in my opinion. Bought this when I replaced my tires in 2016 HD Sportster 48.

Awesome tool for diy
My wife & I use to measure the rear wheel alignment with a makeshift rear wheel alignment tool. This tool is the best thing since slice bread. Easy & accurate to use.
Easy and Great product
Used for my 2015 Iron, worked as described. I would recommend this product for anyone wanting to work on there Harley. I did have to remove my swing arm bag to use it but not a big issue.

Absolutely spend the money to align the wheel correctly. As a test, I reinstalled the rear wheel by eye and then checked it with this tool. I was off by quite a bit, even though the wheel appeared to spin true to the naked eye. Worth every dollar.

It's simple and it works. You may have to remove the left side pipe.

Haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will work on most Softails.
Put the rulers away and get this alignment tool for when you re-install the rear wheel on you scooter. forget the home made alignment tools, this is quicker and much more accurate.
This tool works really sweet and I'm glad that I can service the drive belt, brakes and rear wheel alignment on my bike and not have to pay a shop :-)
