For those days when you just don't want to stop.
I spend more time in the saddle than anyone I know with over 22,000 miles in the last 6 months, so I think I can offer up a decent review.

Bang for the buck: dropping this kind of coin on something that's vinyl covered is not optimal. If it were covered in some exotic animal hide, I'd understand the cost over 6 C-notes for the saddle and proprietary backrest. It's a tad spendy IMO. Just about all manufacturers are charging the same ballpark figure though, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Features/Comfort: It's wide, providing plenty of room stretch out on for those 500 mile days. It is more than a little hard the first few thousand miles, but you adjust or it loses some of it's stiffness. Either way, it doesn't feel like riding on a board anymore.

Your Pillion rider will love you long time after spending time on this one. It is also wider and provides more cushion against impacts on delicate parts. My wife loves it.

For the taller riders (whom I imagine this seat is aimed at), While you DO get moved back a bit, you also get moved UP. Good for your legs to not be bent up so much, but not so good for your brain carrier. Prepare to possibly also go buy another windshield/screen if over 6'3". The windshield on my '15 FLHR now stops about 2" under my chin. The head buffeting is positively BRUTAL at highway speed. An hour of having my brains shaken like a can of paint getting mixed at Lowes isn't fun. Consider it a possible unintended consequence and plan appropriately.

Style: Good lines, nothing special covering it though. Nothing exceptional here.

Installation: It's a Harley seat. If it takes you more than 30 seconds to install, you're doing it wrong. See Lemmy's most excellent video here if you don't know how to swap one out.

Fit and finish is tight and this is where you definitely get your money's worth. No loose seams or stitching, and everything was perfectly assembled.

Durability: I can't rate it fully with a clear conscience for another 6 months. It's held up perfectly so far, but I'd like to see how it stands up to a year of Florida sun day after day.

Those are my thoughts as a rider for the Mustang Summit Tour seat.
Summit Seat for 2018 Road King
This is my second Mustang seat and very happy with their product. Seat comfort is, of course, very subjective, but for me the stock H-D seat put me to far forward and I kept trying to push seating rearward. The Summit seat fits my 5'10'' frame perfectly. The seat is just a little more firm than stock, which is my preference. The mustand seat does position you a little further back from the gas tank as promised and you sit a little higher which is perfect to look over instead of through the stock Road King windshield. I could not be any happier with this purchase.
Doesnt move you back at all on a Street Glide S 2016
The seat is very nice looking, but overall a little disappointed. I want to move back a couple of inches. but after mounting and testing, I found it 16 inches just like my stock seat.
Looks are 100% fits nicely around the bag latches and just a great looking seat.
Comfort 80% I ride couple of hundred miles on weekends, started out ok, but I am back to my gel pad.
Got what I wanted 0%, did not move me back at all..
If you don't want to move back and want a great looking seat for the Street glide this is it.
Awesome product
Just installed this seat on my 2016 Road Glide Ultra. Hugh difference on those 8 hour rides. No more sore bottom from sitting in the saddle too long. Highly recommend this for any long range riders.
Excellent seat for Harley Touring!
I am a big fan of Mustang seats now! This makes two of their seats I have on my bikes now. This seat surprised me how well it fits, much better than factory! The only thing youll have to be aware of is you will have to do some buffing because this seat sits up off the bodywork nicely whereas the stock seat sat on the tank, fender, and side covers so they are highly scuffed. This is a good thing though because the paint will no longer be worn through. The saddle on this Mustang seat is everything I hoped it would be and more! Not too wide, too hard or too soft. Great choice for newer Harley touring bikes!
Looks killer on my FLHR!
Raised my butt and center of gravity noticeably. Wider leg stance but can still flatfoot. No longer smashing the goods on the tank. I am 6' & 190 lb. Will require normal tweaking of highway pegs and handlebars for new position. Guaranteed, I'll break in before the seat breaks in. Seat is firm but supportive. Looks killer on my FHLR!
Major disappointment
So, had this seat for one year. I am not a high mileage rider. Put maybe 4K miles on my 17 Road Glide with this seat. Last ride had to stop about every 50 miles due to discomfort. Needless to say the wife HATES it.
Good quality
Haven't been able to ride much, what I have been able to ride seat is definitely better than the tallboy seat I had.
Love my Summit!!
I love this seat!! I no longer feel like Im sitting up on the tank. Its very comfortable and well built.
Definitely better than stock seat. It's very tight to install. And very wide.
Better than stock
The seat is a bit stiffer than the stock seat, sits you back, and does not compress as much so, you sit a bit higher as well. I had to adjust my handlebars back almost an inch and a half however, my junk wasn't getting smooshed. The stock seat on my 23 Ultra Limited was comfy on short rides except that I was a bit cramped in the "frontal area". Went on a 300+ mile ride during bike week. First 250 were fine, I was doing the seat scoot for the last 50 or so. Seems to be getting more comfy with every ride. I would definitely get the backrest, it allows you to tailor your lean angle during long rides. Does seem to ride cooler than the stock seat. Stock Harley seat was like sitting on a garbage bag without a mesh seat cover.
Great seat it's very comfortable.
The riding position of this seat is perfect. I am 6’ tall with 34” inseam….so long legs and arms but short torso. So this seat sets me back 2” and up 1” and now I feel like I have leg room and my nuts aren’t crushed on the seat like with the OEM. As far as butt comfort, I have only ridden on the seat 3 times, so I will come back and update the review after some more miles.
Well done Mustang
Superb addition for the touring bike! Makes just the right amount of extra move around room for a 6' and above rider. Fits the Rushmore edition exactly as described with the passenger seat filling the space between the speakers perfectly with the extra space. Plenty of room if you install a tour pack drop back kit also. Highly recommend the Mustang passenger backrest to accompany the seat. Mustang foam is the correct support and this seat is the perfect width for long hauls with happy legs.
Summit seat
Good products. Since you up at least an inch higher and back at least 2 inches. The driver back rest is a must
I absolutely love this seat. I have long legs, and the seat moves you back 1.75 inches. Great quality, and the seat looks great on my 2017 Road King.
This seat is great. Moved me back and allowed me more leg room. My wife loves it also. The seat is good for the long haul. Looks good too.
Mustang touring seat
Good fast professional service and the quality of the seat is wonderful. Rode several hundred miles and had no issues whatsoever.
Best seat for bigger riders like me.
I love this seat! As a big guy my 19' SG stock seat made it hard to go on long rides. With the mustang its wider, sits me back a bit, little bit higher actually and feels far far more comfortable then the stock, especially after a few hours of highway riding.
Good Long range seat
I've got an abbreviated seat for my local driving. I got this for my long distance runs. I set up the seat with the backrest and it looks and feels pretty damn good.
This Mustang seat makes riding a great pleasure. My wife loves the 16" passenger seat and the drivers backrest is no problem with her comfort. This seat makes long rides a pleasure.
5 Stars
The stock seat on a Harley ultra limited is a nut crusher if you are a 6ft.or taller rider. This mustang seat makes my motorcycle a pleasure to ride now.
Impressive
Went for a 350 mile ride yesterday and am now confident to go for a longer ride.
Best seat
I love this seat. I got the seat and backrest and can ride for hundreds of miles.
Great seat 100% better than stock seat!!
I like it very much, very comfortable
I bought one of these seats at Daytona Bike Week and I'm very disappointed and sorry that I got it. It is very firm and not much cushion. At first I thought it would be ok but after about 45 minutes to an hour on it my butt was hurting as much or more than it did on the stock Harley seat. I think I'm going to put the stock seat back on for now and maybe look for a different brand seat. The best part about the seat is that it sits me back 1 3/4" further then the stock one which is good with my long legs. Other than that I am very unhappy with it.
Much better than stock seat!!!
10 minute bolt on. Best investment yet on my bike. These seats are amazingly comfortable. They seem hard at first, but after 300 miles, your butt thanks you.
