Bought this seat to replace a Sundowner I've had for years.<br />This seat is firmer and more comfortable then the sundowner. Lowers you to the ground by close to an inch. First day I had it on the bike I rode for over 4 hours straight on the highway and loved it.
I just picked this seat up for my birthday. Great seat at a good price that's very comfortable for long or short rides. It sits higher than the stock seat which feels a lot better on the back & way more seat for your passenger. It also gives the Wide Glide that classic look. I would recommend this seat. Excellent fit and the comfort is what i expect from mustang seats. Moves me back off the tank just right and passenger likes it also.
Well, it's a great seat, but let me tell you why. First, it looks great on my '08 FXDC. Looks so much better than the original seat did. It fits the bike's design better than the stock seat did. It is slimmer in the front allowing for more movement of the legs and it shows more of the tank. Second, the seat is very comfortable. Now, this has to be put into perspective. I'm a 275 6' big guy with a bad back. Does this seat allow me to ride for hours and hours without any discomfort? No, it does not do that. It isn't the broad ass seat that mustang makes that better fits a tushie like mine. I didn't want that. A bike has to have a look to it. Compromises must be made. I went for looks, BUT this seat is comfy. I get about 3 hours of riding in before I need to stop and rest the butt and legs. That's 3x as far as the stock seat. There is no tailbone pressure for me in this seat. A 5-10 minute rest(beer) and I'm good to go a few hours again. I can ride all day with this seat no problem with a few pit stops along the way. On the old seat I'd be walking away from my scooter like a crab all broken up. Now, if you're not a 275 pound fat ass like me this seat will do you right all day and night. It's a great seat. Thirdly, it's quality. This thing was made well. All in all much better than I expected. I went for looks and I'm happy I did. I doubt I'll ever buy a seat from a different manufacturer. And for the fourth point, the seat fits and holds my ass like a glove. Almost too well. You have the make sure you are positioned right when you start out, because this seat will not allow you to move at all. It holds you in position. Had to get used to that, but it's good.<br /><br />Oh, one last thing to note, while many ass is large my old lady's isn't. She's built just as right as my scooter. She loves the seat. She hasn't needed a single rest before me. That's new and appreciated.<br /><br />The seat has been on the bike for a month now with daily use between 100-300 miles/day. Mostly 2 up. It's holding up great.
