Mustang Touring Seat - for Tall Riders

This is my 2nd Mustang seat, replacing the stock HD seats. My first was a 13 Fatboy, and now a 16 Electraglide Ultra Classic. I find them much more comfortable, especially for long distances - I just don't feel the need to stop riding to rest my rear end. That said, the Mustang seats that I've used are more firm, and set the rider up a bit higher than stock seats. In both cases, I measured ~1.5" higher, which is great for us taller riders (6' 2'' with 34" inseam). And the tall rider version sits you back, away from the handlebars by about 1.5". Between the two changes, it makes for much needed extra leg room. The only downside to the tall rider version is it takes away from the passenger seating area. Mustang says that it doesn't, but my wife says otherwise. Oh, I also use the version of seat with the built-in back rest receiver.

Very pleased with the comfort of the Mustang Super touring seat. My wife even liked the comfort of the passenger seat. We road 394 miles on a one day trip without hurting. We were lucky to be able to ride 100 to 150 miles with the factor Harley seat with out stopping. Very good seat!!!!

Best Two-Up Long Distance Seat Yet

While I loved the stock seat on my '19 RG, my girlfriend hated it, especially on trips more than about 25 miles. So, off to the dealership I went. I tried 4-5 of the HD "comfort" seats and hated them all. They all pushed me too far forward and elevated my seating position. I'm 6'1", 225 lbs, with a 32" inseam. I already have trouble getting to the rear brake pedal. My heal usually rests on the front edge of the floorboard.<br /><br />Since I didn't have any luck with any of the HD seats, I thought I would see what else was out there. After some searching, it came down to this seat and the Saddleman Road Sofa. I liked the price on this one the best, so I gave it a shot. Since I put this on, I've added about 2500 miles to the bike, 1000 of which was a 2 day road trip that my girlfriend and I took. The difference was night and day. I still have to stop every now and then to let her stretch her legs, but what was about 25-30 miles is now about 100 miles. <br /><br />Pros:<br />1) The driver position is much wider than stock which does provide added comfort and a bit more stability when dealing with high cross winds. <br />2) The driver position is pushed back a bit which gives me a bit more room on the floorboards and I can better access the rear brake.<br />3) The passenger position is wide and flat. this provides much more comfort for the passenger and as a bonus, makes securing luggage to that position much easier.<br /><br />Cons:<br />1) The front portion of the seat near the tank is a bit too wide for me. There is a very noticeable pressure point on my inner thighs with my feet down.<br />2) The driver position is raised up a bit. A taller windshield is definitely next on the list.<br />3) This thing is THICK and it stands out. I definitely lost that sleek bagger look.<br /><br />Overall, I like this seat. If I had to purchased another one, knowing what I know now, I definitely would.

Extremely comfortable seat!

As we all know, the stock seats are not always the most comfortable. I mostly ride solo during the week, and my wife rides pillion on the weekends. She had a lot of discomfort with the stock seat. I got uncomfortable with the stock seat after about 45 mins to an hour of riding.<br /><br />I bought the Mustang seat, and it is a world of difference! It sits you up a little higher than the stock seat, but for me it was not enough of a difference to affect my footing on the ground. It also sits you a little farther back than the stock seat does, which, for me, was great. I am only 5'7" tall, and don't have very long legs at all, but sitting slightly farther back made a big difference in comfort, as well. I feel like I have more legroom, and I didn't realize I needed it until after I installed the seat and felt the difference.<br /><br />My wife loves the new seat, as well. We have gone on several rides, and she says that the passenger pillion is so much more comfortable than what she was used to with the stock seat. <br /><br />All in all, I highly recommend this seat for anybody that is looking for more comfort.

This seat is exactly what I needed

I have had this seat for about 2 months now and love it. I needed a seat that gave me more room for my legs. I always felt cramped and uncomfortable on my Harley Ultra Limited stock seat. I bought this one because of the reviews and I was desperate. I didn't enjoy riding my bike for long rides anymore on the stock seat. I can honestly say this seat was worth every penny I paid for it. It gave me about 1.5 inches more inches from the gas tank and another inch or so higher off the ground. I was amazed that only a few inches can make a huge difference. It was exactly what I needed to enjoy long rides again.

Rode it 225 miles first day and could not wait to get off. I hope it gets better for what I paid.

Spectacular seat

Went on a long ride today and couldn’t be happier. Supportive and comfortable. It’s so good that it never called attention to itself...I’m usually feeling uncomfortable after a while on the stock seat. It may be an issue for shorter riders as it is thicker. The seat pan is much more rigid than the HD seat as well...seems very well constructed. Seat covering feels great as well. Very pleased with the purchase. I just got it so I can’t rate it’s durability but I believe it will hold up.

i love the look and feel of this seat its firm but very comfortable but it sits me too high the 1 " rise was causing my head to buffer way too much im 6'1 240lbs i really wanted to keep it

2019 Street Glide

Very comfortable seat moves you back just like it’s says it does. Probably sit up another inch as well with the extra padding but rearend doesn’t go numb. Windshield next

Seat is too short.

The seat is comfortable. However it feels like I am sitting a lot hirer on the bike. I would say too high. Also the front of the seat is too short. I now have a gap in the tank console and the nose of the seat. I did order the correct seat. MFG part number 79006 for a 2023 street glide special. I contacted Mustang and was pretty much told tough luck.

Great, seat... More Cushion

Very happy with this seat. It's much better than the stock Road Glide Special seat. I can ride much longer without getting sore. My wife loves it too. The passenger section is much wider with more cushion than the stock Harley seats.

Best fucking seat ever! Just buy this seat, don't waste your money on a cheap Harley Davidson seat, or any other seat. Pricey, but what isn't on a Harley Davidson?

Mustang seat for ultra classic limited

I never leave reviews but was asked to for this seat. With the stock seat on my ultra, I?d be squirming in 2 hours needing a break. Now I can ride 9-10 hours solid with no discomfort in my a$$. Legs and back are other issues a seat can?t fix. Won?t tell you what to do but I?m extremely happy with the mustang seat!

Top choice for comfort

This seat looked good on the bike, was well made, and was very comfortable but my husband needed an extended reach seat. If this were available in extended reach it would have been perfect.

Mustang Seats are Quality Seats

I have owned 7 Mustang seats now and all have been quality seats. IMO they are the best. I bought this one piece touring seat for my 2020 FLHTCUTG and the fit is perfect. The finish also. The Super seat version sets me back about 1.5" just what I need at 6'4" tall. Feels like I am setting about 1" higher up as well and I'am glad I ordered a 11.5" Klock Workz Windshield. All Mustang seats are built to last and I have never worn one out!!! Takes a few local rides to break it in good but after that its like sitting on a plush sofa. The solid metal frame does not flex like HD stock seats and provide miles more ride time between breaks then ANY model HD seat by far. You will love this seat or any Mustang seat in fact they are quality seats. Money well spent and I believe you'll agree.

Deluxe is perfect!

So I tried 3 different seats before I fell in love with this one! Tried Saddlemen Road Sofa LS, seat felt great, but sat up too high and moves you closer to the tank...makes you feel like you're sitting on top of the bike instead of in it!<br /><br />The Lepera Maverick has great lines and sat you back into the bike, but after sitting on it for a few min, I could tell it wasn't going to be the one for those long days in the saddle. I really wanted this one to work, it looked awesome on my 18' Road Glide.<br /><br />Then I tried the Mustang Super Tour, the perfect fit! It sits you down and back a little more than Saddlemen but not as far as LePera....VERY comfortable! If you go with the deluxe it really adds to the seat instead of the plane smooth top. I'm super excited to take this for a quick 200 mile trip to see how she does! Still maintains some of that sleek bagger look...not to bulky. I can't vouch for the durability but I've had Mustang seats before and I know they hold up!

I bought this seat(Super Touring Deluxe), for my 2019 Street Glide Special not knowing if it would fit properly. The fitment said the deluxe edition of the seat might not fit. Fits perfect, looks great and it gets more comfortable every mile you ride. Love it!

I am giving this 4 stars for now only due to I have 5 miles on the seat. I have seen a lot say give it a 1000 miles, for me I noticed a big difference from my OEM 2015 Ultra limited seat right away. It does sit higher and further back by about 1.75". So I had to pull back my 10" bars a little bit they were cramped up against the dash as it was so that was a bonus. I am 6' 1" add some with my boots on so I coupled the seat with 1 inch floor board extension which push them out wider. Love the feel of it so far.

Much improved upgrade from the OEM seat on my HD Ultra Limited. I particularly like how the Mustang sets my 6’3” body back approximately 1 1/2” and is wider too. I have approximately 500 miles with the seat and still working on breaking it in. Hopefully, the seat gets more comfortable the longer it’s ridden.

All day Comfort

This is the best seat I have put on my Street Gilde. Once you break in the seat, around 1k miles, it feels like a couch cushion. I can ride all day and not feel wore out when I'm done riding. The rider backrest is also very comfortable and goes great with this seat

great seat, 500 mi days are not a problem. put me in a better riding position. back of seat does not fit correctly on 2008 ultra classic. seat will not drop all the way to fender due to tour pack mount.

Bigger than expected

Good quality, but the seat raised me higher than expected and is so wide towards the front its hard to stand with my legs spread out so far. The seat is comfortable while riding.

Fit my 2008 Road King great with extended bags. Super comfortable for driver and great for the passenger. She could only ride an hour at a time now, she can ride for hours, on of my fest investments.

Wish I could! Still sitting in the box. Was told by a Representative that my HD seat backrest would work with this seat. Was given the wrong information, so I had to order the backrest afterwards. Unfortunately I have to wait 8-10 weeks to receive it. Back ordered. So now it’s still in the box. Not a happy camper 😦

Driver seat is excellent. The passenger seat is poor and much smaller than standard seat. My wife has refused to ride on this smaller seat. Poor design as far as passenger seating.

Absolute game changer!! The stock touring seat seemed like it had me sitting almost on the gas tank. I am 6 foot 2 inches tall. My back and legs hurt from the stock seat. Not only did the mustang seat sit me almost 2 inches further back, it also set me up higher. Worth every penny!!

I have used Saddleman as well as the HD Road Zeppelin but this mustang is made for guys like me, i am 6-3 250 it sits you back for more leg room and cradles my baby like butt for 150 mile rides no sweat,<br />as well as being a great looking addition to my 22 Ultra Limited.

I have this seat on a 2009 Streetglide. Seat is so comfortable especially the passenger. If wondering your backrest will work the seat is so much bigger than the stock seat. Everything fit well and no issues. Strongly recommend this seat to anyone that rides long distance.

New Mustang Super Tourer Seat Review

The Mustang Super Touring Deluxe seat is good for two-up traveling. Initially, it does cut into the backs of the riders legs at the buttocks, but, as the seat breaks in, it lessens. The passenger seat is good enough that it doesn’t flatten out. My wife did not complain for the first time in years.

Wonderful upgrade from my stock 2022 Road King seat. There is no comparison in the quality. Firm seat but extremely comfortable. Sits you up allot higher than stock. I’m taller so this put me in a better position to really control the bike and can still flat the bike when stopped. With the backrest and Highway pegs it feels like a recliner.

Mustang with backrest 2014 Ultra Classic

Really nice right out of the box. They say they're "broken in" at the factory, and to some degree they probably are, but once I get some time in the saddle I think it's going to be even better. The only thing I don't like is that the mechanism for the backrest is a little bulky and it's eventually going to wear into the seat where it's going to rub, see photos. I'm going to rig up a leather sleeve for it.

Doesn't fit

Doesn't fit. It kinda feels like it's locked in place but moves side to side and only a small amount of the mount is actually fitted into the seat and I was able to pull it up. Not safe and it's a shame because I was looking forward to the seat. And it's not that I purchased the wrong seat model number I purchased 79006 and have a 2022 road glide special and it says it's should fit.

It was better than expected. The small braid down the side seam helped set the seat off on my street glide. Pictures do not do this seat justice, It looks a lot better in person without being over powering.

Great seat for driver, passenger however...

I've got about 20k miles on this seat, I'll say it is definitely an upgrade as it pushed me further back for leg room and cushy for the wife.<br />The good; it's soft/ yet firm enough to sit on all day, includes a backrest (optional), it's slightly oversized which gives you more room for load bearing.<br />The bad; the backrest was too wide for it to be comfortable for my passenger, had to replace the pad with a narrow one, also even with a taller windshield, it's so thick that my wife sits high causing buffering on her helmet.

Fit was spot on. I only have 200 or so miles on the seat but so far love it. The time it took to receive it was to long.

The best comfort for the money I’ve spent, by far. Despite the seat moving me back, the wife says she has more room. Seat is firm for sure but, absorbs way more impact than the stock seat. Highly recommend and highly recommend JP for it! No better price out there. Be sure to get the backrest and the tour pack pad too. You don’t have to thank me :)

I had this on my Kawasaki Vulcan. Loved it there I loved it on my street glide wife really enjoys the comfort definitely adds with upgraded suspension I put on as well.

I got this seat for an upgrade over the upgraded Harley seat I had on my 2017 Street Glide Special. The seat is super comfortable and very easy to install. I recently brought 2022 Road Glide and put this Mustang seat on that. The best seat I ever had.

Mustang makes the most comfortable seats I’ve experienced. This seat sits back about an 1½ inches so one may need to adjust the bars. It sit about ¾ inches higher. The back rest is perfectly placed and easily adjustable as one rides. I highly recommend this seat.

It seems alright. Got it on the bike, but no miles on it yet. Only thing I didn't like is the height difference. I have a cvo road glide, and this as advertised days it's the save height as stock. Should probably clarify that it's the same height as a stock base model, not cvo.

Mustang seat is by far the most comfortable bike seat available on the market. My trip to Arkansas will be comfortable, and I won’t have to pad it for comfort. ??

Much better than the oem seat . I haven't done any long distance ride sense the replacement, I have done several 1-2 hr rides with minimal discomfort. The seat is narrower at the tank making it better for me. My foot contact is better with the seat also

Was initially concerned about the seats firm feel as I have an issue with tailbone pain. After 1k miles seat rides great and no pain. Materials are exceptional quality.

I needed to dump the stock Harley seats when I ride on it for awhile I could swear I can feel the hard points of the seat pan (molds) under each upper thigh area, and it bothered. I was considering a road sofa, but instead I chose the mustang seat. I’m super glad I did. The seat looked very well made, and once installed I quickly took my ultra limited out for a nice ride. Quite pleased that I no longer feel those hard points, but the true test is when the seat comforts to me and hopefully the seat maintains its first ride feel.

Although delivery was held up by the big freeze that hit Texas I am very pleased with this product!! Installation was a breeze, and not only does it look good on my 2020 Street Guide Special it sets me up just a little bit higher, and a little bit further back. Coming off the stock seat, the Mustang is amazing, as always. I have put Mustangs on all my touring bikes and have never been disappointed. Although I have not had this seat on my Street Glide long enough to take a trip on, I have put on upwards of a hundred miles at a time in the metro area, and every time I want to concentrate on the feel of the seat for a comparison, by the time I get home I have forgotten all about my rear end. THAT should tell you something about the seat.

Haven't had much of a chance to use mine yet but the 1 trip I took I found the seat to be very comfortable. Especially like the back rest, it's just the right height.

Mustang Seats are the most comfortable seat out there..have used others and this is my 4th Mustang...like setting in your favorite recliner with your "knees in the breeze"..

Nice seat. Only thing Mustang could improve on is make the front of the seat a little longer. It is about 1.5" shorter than stock and unless your bike is new, the now exposed tank chrome trim will have an exposed wear line.

Bought this seat for my 2012 HD Electra. Then went for an IBA Saddle Sore 1000. A little crazy, but only had 50 miles on the seat before the trip. 17 hours later, returned at 1,054 miles. Great product!!!

Love this seat;<br />was a little scared because of the price at first. <br />But this was WELL WORTH IT. Surely Well worth the investment, rides so much nicer than the stock seat, An my butt doesn't get sore or tired or cramped after the first hr of riding., <br />I could ride the full tank of fuel an not have sore butt. ALL THUMBS UP

Great seat tried it on my bike at bike week last year Waited till this season to purchase it Very comfortable for long rides

Quite firm right out of the box. Hoping it sofens up in the next few weeks but the back rest is super easy to use and helps take some load off your rear.

First 100 miles it has been great. The backrest doesn't seem locked in and tends to move up and down when getting on and off the bike.

Very nice seat. Obvious difference between stock. Material is better, stitching is better, and the back rest is very comfy.

Wow! I’ve tried several different seats in this is BY FAR the MOST comfortable seat I have ever sat in. I just went on a 2 day trip with it right out of the box and it was a dream. The backrest is awesome. Can’t recommend this seat enough!!!

Bought due to the name and comments, no regrets. Seat was sooo much more comfortable than the 3 year old factory seat. Will be broken in on the next road trip of several days on the road.

Can’t go wrong with Mustang seats. They are the cream of the crop. Replace my stock Tri Glide seat with the Deluxe version. My butt knows the difference.

Mustang seats have been the best money I’ve ever spent on every Harley-Davidson I’ve owned. The butt area is wider for more weight distribution. The filler is denser but not too firm by any means. After an “Iron Butt” ride on my former Mustang seat, my butt was the only thing that wasn’t sore. I had on of my bikes for 20+ years. When I finally parted ways with that one, it was like the other Mustang seats. It looked and felt like it did when I first unpacked it. <br />I just purchased a 2020 Tri Glide Ultra. I ordered this seat the same afternoon I took delivery of the bike. The difference between the factory seat and the one-piece Mustang is indescribable. I got the one with a slight elevation increase. At 6’3”, it places me in a perfect riding position. My Lady loves the comfort of the back seat as well. The removable and adjustable backrest is perfect for long rides and stores easily on local rides. It takes ten seconds to put it on or take it off. I would give ten stars if possible.

My BIL bought my old<br />seat a Mustang 76033 so I needed a new one. This one fits that need perfectly! Love the seat. Fast delivery and in perfect shape!

Very satisfied. 19 Road Glide Special. After a 3 day 1100 mile tour of the Smokey Mountains my wife and I are very happy with this saddle. Not only is it comfortable, it looks good on the bike as well. Wished I bought it sooner. Highly recommend.

The minute my butt hit this seat, I fell in love with it. The extra width over a stock makes all the difference. I've only put about a 100 miles on this seat but it is GREAT !!!

Recommend! Easy install, arrived fast. Put over 2,000 miles on the following week and it was everything they said it was. Sit higher and further back like in description which felt great for 6'3'' 300+ pound man. Rode through rain, fog, smoldering heat/humidity and the seat still looks/feels just as good and durable as the day installed. Pricey but you get what you pay for... Very pleased!

After a couple hundred miles I'm kicking myself for not ordering this seat earlier. It's a bit stiff but is very comfortable. Looks great on the bike as well. Hoping the wife likes it as much as I. Highly recommend.

Figment is perfect, wife is very comfortable....I on the other hand am still waiting for it to soften up. Still hard on my ass but the backrest is nice and very adjustable. I would give it a 4 if it were more comfortable out of the box, plus the high price point brings it down as well. I have a near identical seat on my Night Train and it was perfect from day 1.

So far this seat is pretty comfortable, went on a 200 mile cruise after putting it on and really liked it. It is pretty firm and raises me up, and also moved my riding position a couple inches back, but im 6'1 and wanted more leg room.

Order this seat after trying 2 others. I was originally concern with the setback. I'm 5'9" with 30 inch inseam and this set me back away from the tank, which I like since being a large guy and I have no issues with leg or arm placement. It raise me up a little ~ 1 inch but I have no issues with feet on the ground.

This is by far the best investment I have made for my bike. Trust me when I say the stock seat does not even compare!

After a 700 mile ride on my street Bob with a stock seat I lemped to my computer and bought a mustang seat. Best purchased I made for that bike. So when I got my new Road King the first thing I did was put your seat on. Worth every penny.

This is the most comfortable, supportive seat I have ever sat in.

I have a 37 inch inseam and the seat creates an additional inch of clearance which is perfect! Very comfortable seat! Rode for 3hours and it was like sitting in a lazy boy with the back rest.

A great seat it sets you up about a inch and back about 2 inches. In other words my Road King finally has a throne.

I had this same seat on my Softail. Very comfortable and long runs are no longer dreaded.

Good quality seat. Went on a 400 mile ride and it was very comfortable. It sits a little higher than the stock seat, but this should adjust a little with wear. The set screw for the backrest is installed with blue locktite. Had to apply a little heat to free up the screw. No other problems with installation. Fitment on 2017 Street Glide was perfect.

This seat is way more comfortable than the stock seat. I put 80 miles on it the first day, no pain. It is a bit higher than stock, but I'm 5'11 so the new seat height doesn't bother me. Even my lady loves the seat. She doesn't feel like she's sitting on the fender anymore.

The seat is great . I drove from ny to washington 2 days after i got the seat and it was awesome i could of continued riding past the destination. The stitching looks great on my 2108 RG Special.

I was sceptical about spending this type of money on a seat. But after putting it on the bike and going for a ride it is absolutely worth every penny. I would recommend this seat to any bigger guy looking for something with more back support and a more comfortable ride overall. Made my 09 Road Glide feel like a totally different bike. Can't say enough good things about this seat.

This is a very comfortable seat. After you remove your old seat, polish the dull spots with a little rubbing compound where the old seat rubbed the tank. This seat is narrower than the OEM seat.

Been riding with seat for two weeks now and I must say I love it I'm 6'4 300 lbs and the seat is so damn comfortable for me. Highly recommend this one for big riders. Was using an ultimate seat before and that hurt the butt 30 minutes into a ride. Mustang I'm impressed

Haven't had a chance to ride with it yet, but first impressions:<br /><br />1) Very difficult to get the metal tab into the slot on the front of the seat. <br /><br />2) For $700+ I expected more from the back rest. It doesn't fasten at all, it just slides into a slot on the seat and comes out very easily. I am hoping it doesn't work itself out while riding (Yes, it is that loose).

Purchased in store after trying out the demo seat. Sales person was very helpful. Seat is awesome, very comfortable. Rode from Daytona to home stopping for fuel only, 550 miles with no pain or discomfort at all. Replaced stock Street glide seat.

This seat did the opposite of the advertisement. It actually set me forward and up.. This actually worked out for me. Im 5'11" 32" inseam, but shorter riders beware. Installed on 2018 RGS. More comfortable than stock, butvhave not taken on long trip yet. Seat looks great and quality is top notch. As with other Mustage seats ive had they get more comfortable as they get used

Okay cycle enthusiast, I have had this seat for a couple of months and had a few long rides and I must say this is by far the best seat I have ever had. Even my girl made a comment how comfortable the seat was as it gave more cushion not only in length but in thickness as well for those long hauls. <br /><br />Don't let the large price deter you from COMFORT. If you like long rides, trust me you will not be disappointed it is well worth the investment knowing you can stand up following a long ride!!!
