Good looking seat, just don't try to go too far on it
Nicely made, looks great on the Street Glide/Road Glide Specials, however its low, and will have you holding onto the handlebars at speed due to the pitch angles and is very tiring. <br /><br />The driver's backrest is excellent, well designed and thought out - HOWEVER - there is a metal bracket inside the Wide Tripper that accepts the backrest, and when you are back in the seat you will feel this on your tailbone, its a serious design flaw. I even spoke to Mustang about this and they are well aware of it. <br /><br />I could no longer tolerate this seat after three weeks use and sold it off. If you want to try this seat, I would recommend you do NOT get the unit with the backrest due to this hard metal area right under the upholstery.
all in one seat
Originally purchased this seat for ripping around town. On my 2015 street glide For its good looks and low profile stance. I have put approximately 4500 miles on this seat since purchasing. This seat is comfortable for the long haul as well. Just completed the iron butt association saddle sore 1000 mile challenge in 17hrs. I thought for sure I would be regretting not using my mustang deluxe touring seat. But the seat held up and I was comfortable. Way better than a stock seat!
Really as advertised
Hold off in writing this review till i've about a few thousand kilometers riding in the seat.<br /><br />Gotta say, its everything as advertised. The looks of the seat are way cooler than the stock seat. Really got that low, clean line look. Real nice on the eyes.<br /><br />Most importantly, it is sufficiently comfortable. Rode them for two thousand km last week and it provides ample cushion with no painful after effect for the buttock and the backside.<br /><br />Also rode them through 37C heat and heavy tropical rain last week and till now the seat still looks good with no signs of peeling or discoloration.<br /><br />So the seat is durable, is good looking and quite comfortable. Really good value for the money. Recommended.
Great Solo Seat!
Bought this seat and rode to Sturgis and back. 3600 miles. Was perfect. Sits you a little back and a little lower. I'm 6' and it's about perfect. The backrest is very nice and very sturdy. The diamond stitch looks amazing. I also got the passenger pillion. Wife said it was comfortable. Takes no time to add and remove the pillion as there is just one screw. Buy this seat now!
Best seat I ever owned
First off it looks fantastic with or without the seat rest. Super comfortable even for long rides. I had one on my road king and my recent road glide. For long hauls the seat rest is awesome for comfort and support.

Looks so much better than the stock sest on my Road King Special. Comfortable for all day rides. I'm 6' 200# and this sest put me in a great position, just a slight bit lower than the original.
Mustang solo seat
Seat when I'm incredibly easy. I have a brown bike in the seat matches my bike perfectly. The cross stitching looks beautiful. The two bolts they gave our highly polished chrome and had a nice accent to the fender and the seat. I said a little farther back which makes my arms reach for my handlebars making it more comfortable to ride. My lags also have more room by sitting back a little further. I highly recommend this seas not only for looks but for comfort.
Not the seat for me, personally. The back is too low, and the seat is stiff. It's tough on the tailbone. And it doesn't set you back any. The seat looks nice on the bike, so if you're out for looks, it's great. If you're out for comfort, it's a solid No ! Just my opinion.
Great Saddle!
Mustang seats are great! Not saying other brands arent, but this is my third Mustang and theyre all outstanding! I love the texture of the vinyl and the firmness of the foam, after a few hundred miles they feel as nice as a good pair of work boots. Not to mention they always seem to have plenty of styles depending on your rig and your taste. The quality and fit are as good as it gets. Well worth the money, and a tremendous improvement over the factory Street Glide seat.
Good seat
I bought this seat for exactly what its advertised for. Solo short distance riding. I have only had it for a few weeks but so far so good. It definitely sits me back a ways from the factory seat. Im 64 and this seat has me reaching for the highway pegs that were easily accessible front eh factory seat. The only problem with this seat is there is no lumbar support at all, but its not really meant for long distance riding so as long as youre not going for a 12 hour ride, its a great seat.
Mustang wide tripper.
When first saw the seat when it arrived, I thought not its going to be comfortable. Boy was I must taken AWESOME comfort!

I switched from another less expensive brand because the wife felt like she was sitting on the rear fender. I'm very happy I did. The Mustang is way more comfortable. Very happy!
Smooth Black no backrest
Seat does what I wanted it to do. Lowers me and moves me back compared to my Mustang Sport Tour seat. I don't have a stock seat but even though this is low profile it's better than the stock seat. Pretty sure I could do a 100 mile ride easy but not sure yet on all day/multiple day ride. It's firm, like most Mustang seats. Wife is not a fan of the optional passenger pad. She says too thin.

Wide Tripper
I was pleased with the quality of the seat. Very well built and beautiful on the bike. But at 6'5" it just sit me back far enough to be comfortable.
Mustang Wide Tripper looks great, feels horrible
I bought this seat to replace my 12 year old Mustang Super Solo that I have used on 3 different bikes and love the comfortable ride, but due to the stitching breaking down it was finally time to replace it. I love the appearance of the brown diamond stich pattern on my black Road Glide of the Wide Tripper. But, I'm really disappointed in the comfort after being on the bike after a few hours The past 2 Saturday's I road about 300 miles each day and by the end of the day I was very uncomfortable and experiencing numbness. I have a club brother who has the same seat in black with the same diamond pattern, his looks to have a much more "pillow" effect in his diamond pattern and just visually he's seat looks a little thicker/taller. Sitting on his bike it immediately feels softer, so maybe I some how received an improperly assembled seat. I will be contacting Mustang directly to discuss this. Ultimately, I can not stay with this seat and hopefully Mustang will make this right or I'll be forced to purchase another seat & have waste hundreds of dollars.
Awesome seat
Excellent seat. I'm 6'3" tall and not a small guy. This seat is comfortable for all day rides and pushed me back a good inch from stock. Has held up well for almost three months so far and almost 3000 miles. Well made and looks darn good to boot!

This seat was exactly what I needed super comfortable I got driver backrest and I couldn't be happier it fit pretty good I had to do a little finagling but I got it on there and you can too on my 21 Road Glide fltrx very pleased with this product it came I ordered it Friday and it was at my door on Monday you can't beat that I would recommend this product to anybody with a newer Harley-Davidson you won't regret it I had a mustang seat to up but I could not put a backrest driver backrest on it which is why I got this seat because usually I'm the only one on it but it would not be hard at all to take off and put the other seat right back on if I want to ride a passenger if you like comfort you'll like this.

Just installed the wide tripper solo seat and backrest on my 2012 street glide and I have to say it looks excellent. The seat itself and back rest are definitely quality made. Seat pan is metal not cheap plastic and the diamond stitching just sets it all off. It does put me back just slightly than the stock seat but that is fine because you can actually adjust the back rest to push you forward a bit if you need to but it's really not that big of a deal. I have only taken one short ride since the installation so I can't speak of long ride comfort yet but so far it feels like it's going to be an excellent seat. Up to this point I would have to give it five stars ??????????

There is a tab at the tank end I had to cut off too get the seat to fit. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose anyway. Nice looking seat, I hope it lasts

This is a very good seat for medium to short rides, and looks very good on the bike as well. I also have a back rest which really makes the comfort that much better. I use the seat 80% of the time thus its a good one. The other 20% are the longer haul rides with wife thus switch to a La Pera 2-up and that too is an amazing product.

Had this for about 2 years. I commute and leave it in the sun from 9-5, rain or shine and it looks great. I don't clean or condition it. Been with me in DC, Rhode Island, and now Alabama... no complaints. Super comfortable, very stylish, highly recommended.

I do like this seat, looks great the rider back rest is a must, not half as comfortable when I ride with out it. That being said it?s only a 200 mike seat, after that both our butts are very sore.

Comfortable, great construction. I purchased brown leather with backrest. Only issue I had was on my 2021 Road King Special the seat brackets to the fender were off by a mm or two requiring me to bend one slightly to fit.

2008 FLHRC<br /><br />I bought the rear pillion to go with the Mustang solo that I have had for many years. I was getting tired of changing out the seat when the old lady wanted to ride. The rear pillion couldn't be easier to mount. It uses the rear fender 1/4 20 half in. bolt. Looks great and it is comfortable. The rear pillion is also a couple inches wider than OEM Road King seat. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
I've had this Mustang seat on another motorcycle and traveled the American Southwest and Mexico and was very confortable. I had to get the same for the motorcycle I have now. Another important thing for me is that the vinyl they use is non-slip so you have a good grip in the curves, unlike the Harley stock seats that are very "slippery".

Super ez to put it on, at the beginning do feel weird with the back rest but after few min on the road u really can feel the difference from the OEM one. Very comfortable and no more pain on back if u are one of those. Love it.

If you want a comfortable low profile seat, then you found it. I have a 14 CVO Road King and this seat keeps that mean street look, while being so comfortable that it keeps your back and hips feeling good on long distance rides. I can attest to that as I have lower back/sciatic pains. Excellent seat right here.

I had previously purchased the wide tripper solo seat without the backrest so I already knew this was an awesome seat. Very comfortable and the backrest makes it even more comfortable. I would like to say there should be an option to purchase the backrest without buying entirely new seat because you know I will never get back what I paid for the first one. It's ridiculous how expensive everything is for this hobby.

Just took a 600 mile ride on my 2020 SGS. Put me lower and pushed me back a good 2 inchs. I'm 6'1 and my legs are perfectly stretched out now with the new seat. I recommend this seat for tall riders. Comfortable is a 8 out of 10.

Wife loves the seat. No issues at all. Note my wife is 5ft tall and has no issues of a perfect ride on our Electra glide.
Looks as good as Solo seat, I only it so it would match. Usually only use pad if taking trips and I move tour pack to 2 up position so I can carry large Touring bag.

Ordered Apr. 10th on Good Friday, delivered on Tues, 14 Apr. Installed and rode 50 miles and didn't reach for my Air Hawk on it as usual with other seat. Only way it would be better is if it would put me back another 1/2 -1 inch. Will still probably need Air Hawk on the long runs, but for 50- 150 miles I shouldn't.

It's a Mustang seat... Fit, finish, install and comfort are all there. This is a great seat for short to medium rides, depending on your requirements. Way more comfortable than a bare bones style and not as comfortable as a touring seat. ...Obviously. I like this look compared to the luxurious touring seat, so for LONG trips, I'll swap it out for the touring Mustang seat I have (with backrest).

This seat lowers you in the bike for (lower reach) and allows you to move back from the tank as compared to the stock seat (both of which I wanted). The nose of the seat is done well as it ends lower on the dash (compared to the stock seat). The design of the back of the seat allows you to re-position forward and back as it is not cupped like many other seats. Pleasantly surprised that the back rest folds down when not in use and you can extract it from the seat and store in the saddle bag if you don't want to use it. The seat is firm likely due to the low profile but I find it comfortable.

Very fast delivery. Haven't ridden a lot yet but seems pretty comfortable on a few short trips. Like the ease of going from with the rider backrest to without it.
Went from a Sundowner to the mustang on a 2014 street glide. When I first sat on it, it seemed too firm. Rode 80 miles right off the get go. Over 200 first ride on it. It is firm, but comfortable. No problems. Sets you back, but is kind of wide.

I found a half inch cut on the front bottom edge that is factory fresh...Otherwize great looking stitching and design.

mustang should look at their quality a lil bit, the tabs on the rear of seat were no where even close to working, had to rebend them, the slot should be a bit deeper to get on to the mounting screws, always start with you guy when shopping for my bikes, thanks!

Purchased to replace the factory seat on 2016 HD Road Glide. Matched to the Wide Tripper Solo seat, (first class chrome plated hardware). The assembly is meant to add the back seat to the bike AFTER the front seat is mounted and bolted down at the 2 fender mount bolts. Very well done and very comfortable! Nicely done.
Purchased to replace stock set for a 2016 Harley Road Glide. This seat is a first rate package. Very comfortable. I'm 6", 185 lbs. 33" inseam. With the factory seat, I could reach highway bar pegs comfortable. With the Mustang seat, I was about 1/2" farther back on the seat and putting me feet on the highway pegs, was just a slight reach, almost a straight leg reach. So, if you're used to the reach of the factory seat, this seat moves you back just a little. First rate seat and 200% gain in comfort and look over the factory seat. Well done!
Fitted to 2018 Street Glide ANV. Comfortable seat, with back rest adding much more. Would have liked an extra 1" in length, but only a minor consideration. I like how seat is mounted upon frame (no contact with side covers). Back rest adjusts fine to suit.
I never give anything 5 stars unless its perfect. I think 5 stars are given too much and without consideration of what that means. So, with that said this seat gets 3.5 stars. It's a good seat and I like it very much. I find it comfortable also. The fit and finish are great and I like the brown color. Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

The seat arrived quickly and was a perfect fit for my husbands 2013 CVO Road Glide. With a few easy adjustments he was very comfortable and the seat looks great on the bike. I ride a Mustang solo seat on my CVO Dyna and encouraged him to go for a Mustang for sure!!
Absolute show piece. I get constant compliments on how good the brown seat looks against my black and blue bike. It's also way firmer than the stock seat. I maybe wish the back lip was a little taller now that my bike has headers and an intake and has a tendency to throw me back on the rear fender on a good acceleration. But I have put a few hundred miles on the new seat and it is comfortable and looks amazing so cheers to mustang!
Comfortable seat just did a 8 hour ride. It's was great and it hasn't even been broken in yet.

Great seat. The attachment points riveted to fiberglass bottom of seat would not go over bolts on fender of bike. They were to wide. Had mod bolts slightly. Seat rode hard on tailbone 1st 300 miles then no problems. Seat looks great. Would buy again.

I like the seat, purchased 2 of them for my heritage and road glide. Great for 3-4 hour ride but just returned from Sturgis where I put 3,300 miles on it and I must say I wouldn't do it again. Not comfortable at all for daily 300 to 500 mile trips. Extremely uncomfortable at that point.

Seat looks fantastic, but extremely uncomfortable. I've put about 250 miles on it, but I can't stay on it for more than about 40 miles at a time. My entire back side is one giant hot spot. The stock seat was a thousand times more comfortable. Maybe it needs to break in, I'm not sure. It's great for around to use, but I can't do any touring with it.

2017 Street Glide
This seat really compliments the style of this bike. It is a very firm seat, and that's what I prefer, so if you prefer "cushy" this is not the one for you. It is very easy to install. It literally took longer to get it out of the package than to actually install. I have had several Mustang seats and they are top quality.

Comfortable seat but don't ride in the rain with this seat .the diamond stitch pattern soaks up water terribly .so u get caught in rain storm or u wash your bike your butt gets soaks and u got to walk around with a big wet stain on the back of your pants .not a marine quality seat at all !!!!!!!!!!

Seat looks really good, brown color and diamond stitching set the seat apart from others. Seat has been comfortable on short rides, still needed to take out on longer runs to judge the comfort on longer trips.
The seat is beautiful and is great for bar hopping. I took my yearly 2000 mile ride and it murdered my tailbone. I did the same ride last year with my HD seat and no problems.
Seat is good. Just not as comfortable as what I was hoping for. We ride long distances and the tripper solo seat is not doing it for either of us. The seat we bought for our second bike was much more comfortable - the wide vintage solo seat by Mustang (that's the one I recommend for distance riding).

Typical excellent Mustang seat !<br />looks a lot like the 2012 CVO seat but with a back rest option that HD doesn't offer.<br />The material used is very soft but also tough. It has proven very comfortable on the few all day rides that i have taken.
