Just enough Seat
I have a new 2016 Iron and the new solo seat looked really cool. I would ride for 30 minutes and my tail bone was killing me. I figured I would just get used to it and kept riding. <br />I rode for over an hour one day in traffic and I thought I would never walk again.. <br />I bought the Mustang fast back seat so my girl friend could get on once and a while to get breakfast or some short trips. <br />I took off on a 200 mile tripe the other day and had not one issue with the seat. <br />I only stopped long enough to put the credit card in the gas pump, fill it up and then take off again. <br />Not sore at all.. <br />The Iron 883 is a very harsh ride, almost a hard tail. The seat allowed me to sit on bike for 3 hours and 200 miles. <br />Girlfriend says seat is ok but there are times we both come up off the seat on some of the road bumps. But that is the nature of the Iron. I can only imagine this seat on a full travel Sportster would be heaven.
Great looks and great comfort
I have an 2014 883 Iron and this seat fits great. I looked at a lot of seats to add a passenger and they all looked really bulky. My original idea was to just switch it out when I was not riding my daughter on the back but after I installed it it really flowed with the bike well. As far as comfort goes this seat is a huge improvement compared to the factory seat. If you want to add a passenger or just want a good looking comfortable seat I would recommend this to anyone.
Solid seat, not great for 2 up
I'm very happy with the comfort and look of this seat. Just installed it on a '14 HD Iron and it's a HUGE improvement over the stock seat. I like the bobber, minimalist look and so I wanted a seat that would work for occasional 2 up but retained the low profile look. This seat does pretty well from an aesthetic standpoint. But, know that if you're buying this seat it is marginal for 2 up riding. Obviously this seat is not intended for long 2 up trips, but even for short trips around the city, this seat is borderline for the passenger without a solid backrest. So, if you're buying this seat as a great upgrade for your stock solo seat that also has the ability for occasional, short 2-up rides and you're willing to get a backrest for the passenger, this seat comes highly recommended. If your looking for a seat that will work for medium length (30mi+) 2 up rides every weekend, look elsewhere.
Great looking
I bought this seat last year expecting to get my wife on the back. It was too hard for her. First off, the seat is hard however, after 100 miles you butt still doesn't hurt. Its insane how it's the best seat for long distance but it seems hard. It breaks down over time a bit. They had to make it that way because of how slim it is and it looks fantastic because of it. I still say mustang makes the best seats and they know what there doing. It also pushes you back 1.5 inches for taller people.
Amazing!
This seat is great. I'm a big guy and this seat is very comfortable. It moved me back on the bike at least an inch, but didn't lower my position. The foam in this seat is far superior to stock, it really soaks up what the somewhat harsh Iron suspension doesn't. The passenger section is small but functional. If you ride two up a lot your passenger probably wont thank you. But, if you're like me and don't often have a passenger, it keeps that streamlined look while still giving you the option.
Goes on easy and performs well
The seat installed easily on my 2009 XL1200N Sportster. It's comfortable for my wife and I and it looks good.
Not for 2-up riding
Both me and girlfriend are fairly small (130 lbs each). Bought this seat for a 2-up city riding, less than 10 miles. I have a Burly tall sissy bar with pad installed. Girlfriend complained on the first ride as they are very uncomfortable. For me I do not mind them. They extend the reach by 1/2 inches than the stock seat. Unfortunately I am now stuck with an uncomfortable 2-up seat and can't return/exchange for a different one.
Excellent seat
Although I don't have a lot of experience with different motorcycle seats, I can highly recommend this one. I put this on a 2008 Harley Nightster and anyone who knows anything about those bikes knows the stock seat is junk (as well as the suspensions but that is another review). I upgraded the seat first before doing anything to the suspension and it made a huge difference to me in rider comfort. I'd guess the Mustang Fastback moved be back at least an inch or so, and I can't tell if it raised or lower my sitting height...feels about the same. The lower back support - and support during hard acceleration - this seat offers is great, as well as the cushioning....makes the bike feel so much better overall. I don't know why Harley puts such junk stock seats on their bikes. I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet but I have no complaints as it is. Last but certainly not least, it looks killer on the bike. It follows the lines of the bike and bobbed fender nicely. No intentions of riding two up anytime soon so I can't comment on passenger comfort, but I highly recommend this seat for both looks and performance.
Far more comfortable than stock seat.
I ride a 2019 iron 883 and searched for a new seat for a while. i was weary about the price tag on this one. However after receiving this seat I can assure you it is worth every penny. <br /><br />Install is a breeze on the Harley sportster models, it took me longer to get the stock seat off than to put this one on. <br /><br />comfort and riding position immediately improved after installing this seat, and after riding for 5-600 miles the seat broke in making longer trips a dream.<br /><br />I like the way this seat looks on the iron, and the option of adding a passenger is great as my Girlfriend can ride with me now.<br /><br />You can't go wrong with mustang products.
So far So Great!
So I have a Sportster 1200N (Nightster) and the original seat, though very cool looking felt every bump on the road. I order this seat to both give the opportunity to my wife to join me on rides and just to increase the over all comfort-ability of the bike. <br />One thing I wasn't expecting is how far back it pushed me back from the controls and handle bars. I'm rather short at 5'7 160 lbs and it took some getting use to. Now, I love the way it rides. I still feel the bumps but not as sharp as before. The Sportster is a rough ride but this seat has made 3 hour long rides completely bearable. It changes the look of the bike and looks fantastic. The quality is definitely there and so much more comfortable than the stock seat. <br />I can't write as to how comfortable the passenger side is because the wife still doesn't want to ride, at least not yet. However, for a solo ride, this is a saddle you must get!
Quality of this product is too amazing!
Installed on my 07 nightster. Slipped it right on, took all of 5 minutes. Did not have to move anything around. The quality is out of this world. Would highly recommend.
Looks very nice and is very Confortable
This seat is excellent. Is much nicer than the one the motorcycle came with and is very confortable. I love the way the seat feels and it goes perfectly with the bike. I have an 883 and makes it looks so much better.
Good seat
Super comfy on my 2018 iron 1200. The stock seat felt like you were sitting on plywood after 20 minutes of riding. This holds its form and has the little lip on the back to keep you in your seat. Have spent 8 hours in saddle with this and no issues there. Plus like the two up seat for putting my sissy bar bag on.
Fantastic upgrade
The seat is much better than stock. It fills in the gap that the oem has at the tank. Fit is a little snug there. But riding on it is great. It flows with the lines of the bike and holds you in place. Cant say what the durability is. Have not had it on too awful long.

Much better then stock. Supports your back a little bit and moved me back a couple inchs like i wanted
Nice and Comfy
The seat is very comfortable and it is also the easiest thing youll be installing on your bike, it took me probably longer to open the box than to install it. Like I said its very comfortable, it gives you a bit of a rise so if youre already tip toeing your bike, you might want to lower the bike. The look on the bike makes it a lot sleeker. I really love how it looks and feels.
Wow very confortable and nice!
Although I have only put in a days worth of riding, this saddle feels so good, for the money it's well worth it. Construction is top notch and I hope durability is also. I left durability empty because I have no knowledge of it. But from the looks of the construction I have a feeling it's going to be just as good. Lightyears ahead of the stock saddle I am so glad I purchased this Mustang Saddle.
Happy so far
It is really easy to install. The seat is comfortable at least more comfortable compared to the stock seat from HD. I commute to work and Im on the seat for about an hour and is comfortable specially for the price. Loving it.
I am pleased with this seat
I installed this seat on my 2013 Iron 883. It looks really cool with my sissy bar and back rest. The seat is very comfortable. I may be crazy, but it feels like I am able to lean the bike more easily with this seat than my last one, giving me more control in the turns.
This seat looks amazing on my bike. Besides that it is super comfortable for me. It can improve on the comfort of that passenger though.
Great replacement seat
I bought this seat to replace the stock seat on my 2014 883 Iron and it has made a world of difference in the comfort level of my bike. Price wise, this seat is a bargain compared to a lot of the others that are out there. <br /><br />The seat is firm compared to some other seats which prevents hot spots that come from sinking into a seat. I appreciated the firmness because it is similar to the saddle on my road bike.
Awesome Seat
I bought this seat to replace an aftermarket Harley seat I had in my iron and I love it. So much more comfortable and such a better seating position. I never realized how cheap the harley seats were until I got this one. The quality and craftsmanship on the seat is amazing. It's a good 2 up seat for short distances but if you go on a long ride your passenger won't like you very much.
Fantastic Seat
I'm a shorter guy (5' 7") and can easily flat foot with this seat. It puts you back a couple of inches and a little higher than the stock seat, and it makes everything about the bike more comfortable and confident to ride. The rear is just high enough to keep you planted on acceleration. I didn't want the more drastic design of the Saddleman step up, and this fits the bill perfectly. Definitely not for riding 2 up for anything more than a quick trip across town, but I didn't get it for that. Love the low profile taper. It's also really, really comfortable. Night and day difference over stock. Took about 5 minutes to install with a 6 in 1 screwdriver.
I bought my 21 Iron 1200 with only 500 miles on it. The previous owner had installed passenger foot pegs and a cheap passenger pillion seat which I removed. The Mustang fastback was my last upgrade but now that I have it, I should have started there. It dramatically improves the looks and feel of the Sportster and I'm very satisfied.

Great buy!
Great seat often overlooked by the more "sexy" brands. It has good back support while not looking ridiculous like the Saddleman style seats. Its firm at first but breaks in and forms to your butt. Had it for 3 years and has held up well. Made in Massachusetts too.

Better than factory seats. Keeps you in place. A little bit of break in time but after that its perfect. 2 up seat that looks good riding solo

Great seat
So I have a 2017 iron and I had purchased the Le Pera solo, much better than stock but after a few months I could not take it anymore, I'm guessing the ride position, I have mid controls. I always found myself sitting as far back as I could but very uncomfortable. This seat is great, a little wider but it brings you back enough that the ride is much better, looks great also.
1000 Times better than Stock
I installed this on my 2017 Iron. Its so much better than stock. I have about 1,500 miles on it. Still not the most comfortable seat but for the price its great. With the stock I had a hard time riding more than for 40 mins, now no issues of going numb. Fast Shipping, Two days from Las Vegas to Southern California.

Installation, like most seats, was simple. I removed the previous one, and installed the Mustang. The installation video didn't show there would be a bolt sticking out from the chasis that held down the OEM seat. Luckily, the seat had a hold specifically to accommodate this bolt. This meant that it needs to be a perfect fit.<br /><br />There are two reasons this did not get 5 stars. The first is that the mounting bracket for the screw on the rear fender was slightly off and required me to force the installation instead of just screwing the seat in. It was offset enough that I couldn't just screw straight into the fender. The second reason is the unexpected increase in padding at the front of the seat. With the OEM seat I could plant my feet. With the Mustang, my heels are off the ground.<br /><br />I was perfectly fine with the OEM, but needed a tandem and this seat was the only one I liked aesthetically. I'll deal with the differences.
This was a gift for our son. It was packaged well, easy to install and looks great! Very comfortable, especially on long rides compared to the factory seat. Highly recommend!

For the front seat I felt it very similar to the stock one from my Iron 883 2014, nevertheless, seems like my wife on the rear seat didnt like it a lot. So I would recommend it for short trips with a passenger or long solo trips with ocasional company.
