Frequently Asked Questions
Can I adjust the ride height or stiffness?
Yes — the 5-position cam-style preload adjuster lets you dial in damping to match your weight and riding style.
What's the difference between the Standard and Heavy-Duty spring options?
Standard springs suit lighter riders; Heavy-Duty springs are tuned for heavier riders or carrying passenger weight.
Do these come with chrome covers?
Chrome Show covers are available on select applications — check fitment details for your model.
How long do these shocks last?
Progressive 412 shocks are engineered for durability. Nitrogen charging and multistage valving maintain consistent damping performance for the life of the bike with proper maintenance.

Stiff
The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
