About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Progressive 412 Series shocks bring durable, tuneable suspension performance to your Harley-Davidson. Featuring sturdy double-wall steel construction and nitrogen-charged damping, these shocks are built to last and perform. The intuitive five-position preload adjuster allows you to effortlessly dial in comfort and handling to match your weight and riding style.

Why riders pick this

  • Durable double-wall steel construction
  • Nitrogen-charged for consistent damping
  • Multi-stage velocity-sensitive valving
  • 5-position cam-style preload adjuster

  • Available in chrome or black finish options

Transform your Harley-Davidson's ride with the Progressive 412 Series shocks. Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
