Fitment

Fits Harley-Davidson models. Verify specific year and model compatibility before ordering, as the 412 is offered in multiple applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I adjust the preload myself?

Yes. The 5-position cam-style adjuster lets you change preload without tools — dial it up for heavier loads or stiffer feel, down for lighter riders.

What's the difference between progressive and heavy-duty springs?

Progressive springs offer a softer initial ride that firms up as you compress them. Heavy-duty springs provide consistent stiffness throughout the stroke.

Do these come with show chrome covers?

Standard 412 shocks have a black finish. Show chrome covers are available as optional upgrades on select applications — check fitment details.

How long do these shocks typically last?

Progressive 412s are engineered for long-term reliability. Life expectancy depends on riding conditions, maintenance, and load — but the durable steel construction handles hard use.

Is installation difficult?

Shock installation varies by Harley model. Most riders have it done at a shop in 1-2 hours, or experienced DIY riders can handle it with basic tools.

A really nice shock for the $

I bought these for my '06 FLHR and could not be happier. I'm 6' 275 lbs so I went with the heavy duty option. Took about 30 min. to change shocks and the ride has improved considerably, took the jolt out of hitting heaves in the road.

Fell apart just outside of progressives 1 year warranty.

While removing the rear wheel for some other service they just quite literally fell apart in two pieces leaving me with a garage floor full of suspension oil and one unusable shock. Spoke with their warranty rep who told me in so many words that it’s not their problem. Dissapointed to say the least.

Worth it

So far loving these, the ride is much smoother and an awesome look. Going for the 12" was a good choice, raised it but not too much.

Worth the money

Just changed from my stock Harley to the 13-in and what a difference it made. Bike handles better and rides better
