About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Progressive 412 Series shocks deliver tunable suspension performance with a durable double-wall steel body and nitrogen-charged, multi-stage velocity-sensitive damping. The 5-position cam preload adjuster lets you dial in the ride for your weight and riding style, and multiple spring and finish options fit most Harley-Davidson models. This ensures a personalized and responsive feel on the road.

Fine-Tune Your Harley's Ride

The intuitive 5-position cam preload adjuster allows you to quickly set your Harley's suspension to match your specific needs, whether you're riding solo, two-up, or carrying extra gear. Consider a full front and rear suspension upgrade for a truly transformative riding experience.

Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
