Upgrade over OEM
My 2001 RK Classic was in bad need of new rear shocks. Old ones didn't hold air for more than a couple hours and I ride with momma on the back or loaded up for a long solo ride 90% of the time. Rarely do I ride solo without a load or the boss behind me. So after lots of searching I decided the 412s were what I needed since I will be buying a new bike next year. No need to spend a ton of money. <br /><br />Package arrived quickly and after opening and giving the instructions a quick read I was after it. Got the bike on the jack bags off and lower shock bolts on each side out. Top bolts come out next and since I had everything off and out of the way I took time to check out everything and clean things up. Time for new shocks now. Pop in the spacers and put a little bit of blue LocTite on the threads (instructions didn't say it was needed but I feel better with some on there) place top bolts in first and thread them in a little bit. Place the bottom ones in next. You might have to adjust your jack to get the holes to line up but not a big deal. Everything lined up and tightened down (didn't have a torque wrench so I just went until I thought it was good) cleaned up and got the wrench they send with the shocks and I turned them up a click. Put bags on with some weight in them and went for a ride.<br /><br />Noticed right away it was lowered down. Liked the look of it so I'm happy with that. Then after I got out and on the roads that used to jar the bike hard and went down them I noticed that it was a lot smoother. I was so happy with it and enjoy riding even more now<br /><br />I know that the higher price shocks will ride much better than these but I'm incredibly happy with the improvement over the 16 year old air shocks that were on it. <br /><br />So my advice is to have realistic expectations with them. If you are looking for an improvement over old worn out shocks these will do that but won't give you a Cadillac ride. They are under $300 so you have to expect improvement but not an mind blowing experience
A really nice shock for the $
I bought these for my '06 FLHR and could not be happier. I'm 6' 275 lbs so I went with the heavy duty option. Took about 30 min. to change shocks and the ride has improved considerably, took the jolt out of hitting heaves in the road.
Fell apart just outside of progressives 1 year warranty.
While removing the rear wheel for some other service they just quite literally fell apart in two pieces leaving me with a garage floor full of suspension oil and one unusable shock. Spoke with their warranty rep who told me in so many words that its not their problem. Dissapointed to say the least.
Shocking
I have bought both high $ and low $ shocks and these work great for the $. Replace your stock air shocks in 10 minutes and off you go... I would buy them again.

Best bang for the buck!
These shocks provided the most radical change to the ride and handeling of my motorcycle. Suspension should be on your upgrade list and these shocks should be your choice.
Much better
Bolted the shocks on in less than 20 minutes and took off on a 150 mile ride. Night and day difference from the stock air shocks.
Progressive 412 shocks are a lot better ride than the original shocks on my 2003 ultra classic.

What a difference! Replace your factory air shocks with a set of Progressive 412 HD's and get your ride back on track.
we are switching all of our harleys to progressive coil over shocks because they can handle the weight load. unlike the air shocks. the handling and responce is greater without the bottoming out under load. its also a much softer ride for the passenger.

10x better than the old blown out Harley air shocks on my 1994 Tour Glide. I have the Heavy duty 13" version...went from a rough hardtail-like experience to a sporty, firm & responsive ride. It's crazy what only changing out the rear shocks can do to the overall ride & handling of your motorcycle. 10/10 reccomend these shocks to all of my friends. Even 2-up on the lowest firm setting these shocks ride wonderfully (im 250, she's 180) These may be 'entry level' shocks, but man they sure feel like premium!
97 Road King FLHRI<br />Replaced the factory air ride shocks with these. They fit perfect, fast and easy installation. Works great for a 200 lb. rider at second from lowest setting. Plenty of adjustment left for 2 up riding. I chose the stock 13" length to maintain factory clearance. May be a little more firm ride than factory, but I imagine they'll get a little better as they break in. Overall, a great upgrade over stock.

The shocks where purchased to lower a 2000 Harley Road King for my wife. The shocks accomplished this task and provided a better ride and handling over the stock air shocks.
Much better than stock shocks
Progressive 412 shocks are the "go to" for most Harley baggers. The OEM air ride shocks fail over time and never really give a good ride. Our customers often chose the Progressive 412 shocks for a great result at a fair price.

So far loving these, the ride is much smoother and an awesome look. Going for the 12" was a good choice, raised it but not too much.
I removed 10.5" shocks which was causing my 2005 Road King to bottom out over bumps, with 12" 412 series. What an awesome difference these shocks made in the ride overall. Installed easy enough and came with all the hardware needed except new bolts. So as long as your old bolts aren't galled, you'll have no trouble installing these shocks. I've been enjoying the ride all week.

These shocks work well for entry level, much better then my stock air adjustable on my Road King. Once the sag was adjusted they travel well.
I had the 412 11 inch on my Electra classic. I switch and put the 13 inch 412 and wow what difference. The preloaded is on zero and the ride is amazing even with my wife and your pack on.

19 year old OEM air shocks replaced with the Progressive 412 shocks on my 99' HD FLHRCI. Much better ride. Still adjusting for 2 up. Great product for the price.

Had two rides with a setting of the bottom. I like them, but need an answer of what setting should I have them on for comfort for two people weighing a total of about 300 or less. Please advise.

For 410.00<br />I thought I would have a better, more smoother ride then the air ride. I'm not sure that's it's better....
Great Value upgrade for an Older Evo Ultra
Purchased these for upgrade on my 1990 Ultra Classic which had the stock original air shocks. These shocks are a major improvement for the price. They seem to be well made and the ride has improved dramatically. Would recommend for anyone upgrading on a budget.

I had Road King Low shocks on my ultra, they were not comfortable at all, I could never dial them in right. These 412's are nice, look good and make the ride very comfortable.
Easy to install.we will see how long they last.
I only have them on the bike for 150 miles,but what a difference in the ride.i also have the progressive fork cartridges. But the rear shocks made the bike handle better also.
Have not had a chance to ride them, have to wait for better weather.
Shocks made a big improvement over the stock air shocks. Would have liked the warranty to be more than a year.
