Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.
Progressive 412 Series shocks offer consistent damping and adjustable preload for Harley-Davidson models, all while remaining an accessible price point. Their robust construction and advanced valving handle diverse riding styles, from casual cruising to more aggressive maneuvers.

A really nice shock for the $
I bought these for my '06 FLHR and could not be happier. I'm 6' 275 lbs so I went with the heavy duty option. Took about 30 min. to change shocks and the ride has improved considerably, took the jolt out of hitting heaves in the road.

Fell apart just outside of progressives 1 year warranty.
While removing the rear wheel for some other service they just quite literally fell apart in two pieces leaving me with a garage floor full of suspension oil and one unusable shock. Spoke with their warranty rep who told me in so many words that its not their problem. Dissapointed to say the least.

Worth it
So far loving these, the ride is much smoother and an awesome look. Going for the 12" was a good choice, raised it but not too much.
