Frequently Asked Questions
Can I adjust the preload myself?
Yes — the 5-position cam-style adjuster lets you dial preload for your weight and riding style without tools.
What's the difference between standard and heavy-duty springs?
Heavy-duty springs provide stiffer support for heavier riders or frequent two-up riding. Standard springs suit typical solo riders.
Do these come with show chrome covers?
Show chrome covers are optional on select applications. Check your model's fitment to see if they're available.
How long do these shocks last?
Progressive 412s are built for durability. The doublewall steel body and nitrogen charge provide consistent damping for the life of your bike.

Stiff
The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
