Frequently Asked Questions

How does Frequency Sensing Technology work?

FST senses bump frequency and automatically adjusts oil port flow — small bumps get a soft response, big hits get firm damping. No rider input needed.

Can I adjust preload without special tools?

Yes — the top-mount preload adjuster twists by hand. Simply turn the cap to increase or decrease spring tension.

What's the difference between standard and heavy-duty spring rates?

Standard rate suits typical rider weight and cargo. Heavy-duty is for heavier riders or frequent two-up and luggage loading.

Do I need to revalve or service these shocks regularly?

Progressive shocks are sealed and maintenance-free. Inspect mounts and hardware annually, but internal servicing is not required during the warranty period.

Are these made in the USA?

Yes — Progressive manufactures these shocks in the USA.

More info in Reviews

These reviews are absolutely useless without knowing what bike you put them on, which shock you got (length in inches and Standard, HD or SD), and whether you ride solid or two-up with luggage.

Incredible upgrade in ride comfort.

I got these for my 2015 Road King. Stock length. Don't need my saddlebags or floorboards dragging on the ground.

I am a big guy so I wasn’t sure about these shocks but after a quick conservation with the support team they said these will work. Well I got them and set them to max and it was like sitting on a brick. They had no movement in them at all. I had to soften them up half way. I am very happy with these shocks and glad to have replaced that ok’d air ride system I had on my road king. Firmest was great and install wasn’t bad either. I had a friend help me as all I had was a floor jack but we got it done in about a hour. I hope this review helps you in your decision. I went with the super duty shocks.

Progressive 444 Road King

Ive only put on a hundred miles or so but they feel great. Ive heard they require a little time to soften up but theyre definitely an improvement over stock suspension. They hold the tire to the road much better over bumps. Would definitely buy again.

Make sure your needs justify the cost of upgrade

I bought these to improve the ride on my 2017 Road Glide. If I were perfectly honest, for the money, I'm not sure that I could feel the difference. However, I did not load up the bike or try to take it through a slalom course, so I may have missed their real benefits.
