These reviews are absolutely useless without knowing what bike you put them on, which shock you got (length in inches and Standard, HD or SD), and whether you ride solid or two-up with luggage.
Incredible upgrade in ride comfort.
I got these for my 2015 Road King. Stock length. Don't need my saddlebags or floorboards dragging on the ground.
I am a big guy so I wasn’t sure about these shocks but after a quick conservation with the support team they said these will work. Well I got them and set them to max and it was like sitting on a brick. They had no movement in them at all. I had to soften them up half way. I am very happy with these shocks and glad to have replaced that ok’d air ride system I had on my road king. Firmest was great and install wasn’t bad either. I had a friend help me as all I had was a floor jack but we got it done in about a hour. I hope this review helps you in your decision. I went with the super duty shocks.
Progressive 444 Road King
Ive only put on a hundred miles or so but they feel great. Ive heard they require a little time to soften up but theyre definitely an improvement over stock suspension. They hold the tire to the road much better over bumps. Would definitely buy again.
Shoild have done this long time ago
Love these shocks. Got the standards but need the Heavy duties so mine are on sale ;).
Make sure your needs justify the cost of upgrade
I bought these to improve the ride on my 2017 Road Glide. If I were perfectly honest, for the money, I'm not sure that I could feel the difference. However, I did not load up the bike or try to take it through a slalom course, so I may have missed their real benefits.
Don’t like them, too hard of a ride. Which I would have bought a different brand.
Took a long ride after I installed the shocks I’m happy with them
Instantly noticed a profound difference in my ride. Turning was easier and the bike felt so stable. When I adjusted the suspension for my wife and passenger, she noticed a profound difference in comfortability and commented several times throughout the ride.
Only criticism is that it is difficult to see the notches when adjusting the suspension.
Progressives are the best bang for the buck.
These made an amazing difference on my '04 RK. Paired with Progressive springs in the forks.
Progressive 444
Nice shock. Wish the adjuster collar was metal instead of plastic.
Good shocks
Notably better ride.
444
Compared to the stock setup on my 23 RGS these shocks are absolutely amazing. 3k trip and never bottomed out once.
Durability and quality of materials I can’t remark on, they’ve only been on the bike for a couple of weeks.
BUTCH
GREAT SHOCKS-THEY SERVED IT'S PURPOSE-LOW TO THE GROUND
Progressive 444 shock
I bought this set of Progressive 444 shocks wanting two things. To lower my Road King at least an 1”, and hopefully get a smoother ride. I was told it would lower it, but probably not make much difference in the ride. And that’s how it turned out. So, that’s life on the fast lane. Might try a different seat.
Not worth the money. For 800. Dollars, I expected them to ride as good as the jacked up stock air shocks.
Way better than stock the ride is so much nicer
Progressive 444
Excellent shocks - bike handles better now and real easy adjustment if needed for extra passenger or cargo.
They are just ok
Fairly easy to adjust but also fairly weak shocks. I used to lower my Road King 1" and they do prevent bottoming with 1 person (i am always solo) which is what I was after, but only using max height/preload setting. They are better than the 412s for sure. Overpriced for what they are.
Progressive 444 Shocks 11.5? Chrome HD
I love these shocks for my 2015 Road Glide Special! Make sure to measure BOTH sides after installation. My right side was 1/2? lower than my left. This lowered my bike 1? over stock and it rides like a dream! It went from a Cadillac to a Corvette, suspension wise.
I?m really impressed with the performance of the Progressive front/rear suspension kit on ?19 Road Glide. I won?t wait 50k miles on my next machine!
You Can't Go Wrong with Progessive 444's!
I've been running the 13" Heavy Duty 444's for the last 3 years (50,000+ miles) on my '09 Road Glide while tugging a heavy sidecar, my 95 lbs black lab, camping gear, and what not. These shocks are unbeatable! I just bought a new set to put on my '17 Road Glide. I bought 13" Super Duty and put them on the sidecar rig and moved the Heavy Duty ones to the newer bike; the old shocks still look and ride like new and way smoother than the Road Glide Special "Profile Low" 12 inch OEM shocks.
What huge difference going from air ride to these progressive shocks are great. My wife and I love the ride.
Easy install and looks good on the bike. Haven't tested them out yet because was completing the front forks with Progressive mono-tube kit for 14' SGS. I've had other Progressive rear and front springs upgrade on my previous bike (15' Street Bob) and loved the performance, so i'm I'm sure these will give me the same satisfaction!
Awesome shocks, would highly recommend
Good shocks way better than factory
I don’t bottom out anymore!
One of the best shocks you can get without breaking the bank but on my 08 touring bike and from the aggressive back road riding to the highway
Must Have
Love the comfort of the ride.
Expensive but within 1 mile of the house my wife said, Man these new shocks are nice. Worth every penny.
I am so impressed with these shocks its like night and day from stock. I live in New England where pot holes and frost heaves are everywhere and these shocks literately smooth them out. But what i found really impressive is the handling going through curves! I have been recommending these shocks to all my friends! I put these shocks on in minutes and set the pre-load. Now lets see how long they last. Good thing is they have a life time warranty!
Great product
Wish I would have purchased these a few years ago
Bought these for my 2019 FLHTK. They were delivered quickly and installation was easy. A week after I installed them, the wife and I went on a 3k mile road trip and they performed very well. Recommend.
Best shocks ever!!
Pretty Nice. A completely different ride indeed.
2015 Sreet Glide
The shocks are easy to install but a challenge to adjust. I'm not sure if I'm going to get the ride I want out of these shocks.
Shocker
Very easy install. Easy manioulation to adjust the ride. Have several hundred miles in them still working on finding the sweet spot. Would recommend.
Good shocks! Made a big difference in ride and handling on my 2014 ctx1300 deluxe
Great shocks!
easy install, had to use a vice to get bushing in, but no problem, stiff ride but was told to ride awhile to "break-in"
Progressive is awesome
Great shock. A little firm compared to air shocks but definitely work well. I would buy again.
Massive improvement over stock shocks, can’t believe I waited so long
Excellent ride now Worth the bucks
Worth the money Trash the air shocks on my 2013 flhx
Definitely better than the stock air shocks on my flhx
Nice compliment with my new shocks 444 08 diesel bagger really looks sexy with that gangster lean really dig it
I was really concearned about what i would lose when i changed from stock Harley air ride suspension handling maybe stability on my first ride i rode probly about 80 mile between 2 lane state highways to interstate back to local city riding i was really impressed i lost nothing and gained more stability with semis passing on the turn pike less wabel better handeling in the traffic city riding im very happy with the change
Replaced stock air system with these. Stocks were leaking air.
Ponied up for these and though a bit pricey am very happy! Did 200 mls
first time out and wow, really eats the jittery stuff, most importantly the girl noticed a real difference! 2010 ultra glide.
Made a huge difference in the ride and handling. Highly recommend them!
jReplaced stock shocks on 2017 Superlow Sportster 11 3/4 " with 13" 444 ,gave more travel, 1" more road clearance, more shock travel ,better handling with ease of adjustment.win win win.
I bought these shocks to replace the air shocks on my 2016 Ultra Limited. Improved the ride and eliminated bottoming. Word of advice since these are 13.5 inches long you have to remove the pipes to install them.
Installed the old 440's on 2012 Elect Glide. Great improvement/handling over the OEM. However, after 2 years the 440 broke apart. Contacted Progressive Susp and they would repair them no charge per their warranty. Obviously, I had to ship them back. Leaving me to reinstall some crappy OEM shocks. (Note to self, always keep the old shocks in the shed) It took their warranty department waaaay too long to process, which was frustrating. HOWEVER, they eventually shipped out a brand new set of 444's to replace. That was a great recovery for their customer service. I recommend these shocks as substantial upgrade over OEM at a reasonable cost. I would definitely purchase Progressive again.
I bought and installed these shocks at Daytona Bike Week and rode back to Virginia on them. I have a 2008 Electraglide. I've put about 1500 miles on them so far. WAY better than the old stock air shocks (had 30,000 miles on those, so they were getting mushy). I chose the 13.5" length, which is 1/2" longer than stock, and the heavy springs. I wanted the additional suspension stroke and to raise the bike up a bit to increase cornering clearance and reduce bottoming, especially with a passenger on board. Also, the "draggin' ass" look of lowered baggers looks goofy to me. I weigh 245 lbs, so with 150-200 lbs of passenger and stuff, I bottomed the old shocks regularly, and scraped the footboards frequently (even with the air pressure at max). THe new shocks are stiffer, but not what I would consider harsh, and I think that enhances control--I get less wallowing in high-speed turns, in fact, I can hardly notice it at all. I do ride long distances of 800+ miles per day, and while these are not as soft as the original shocks, I find them completely comfortable over those distances. You can spend way more, but end up less pleased. I strongly recommend the 444's for your touring bike.
Great shocks, a much smoother ride and better handling. I bought these for a passenger upgrade as opposed to the stock shocks. Passenger agreed its a way better ride now. I recommend these to anyone wanting to upgrade.
great riding shocks, just wish they had a baseline weight for setting so I didn't have to experiment with settings.
I put these shocks on a 2006 Sportster that currently had a set of 412's on them.

The difference is night and day. The dampening is phenomenal. They are well worth the money.
These are the best shocks out there, a night and day difference in the comfort of the ride
1st set of aftermarket shocks i have already noticed they perform better than oem shocks. very good product so far
Did not realize that the ride would improve so dramatically. Great product!
Great product. Very happy. Recommend.
I installed these on a 93 Sporty build along with rebuilding the front forks to HD. I'm 210 lbs and the HD are too stiff for me solo, just bearable two-up. I ordered the standard springs direct from Progressive and am hoping they're perfect.
I put these on the back of a 07 sportster 1200 low. 13.5". It changed the whole dynamics of my ride. No more back breaking bumps. These are so smooth that I am not considering buying a cruiser now. Worth the money. New bike.
Needed to reduce bushing size to allow the fitment
Just installed them, wish they had better install instuctions. From Wisconsin so I have to wait to see how they ride. can't wait
Took a long time to get with very little explanation.
good, excellent
Nice shocks. But they are what they say - heavy duty. I have them on the lightest setting for my daily solo combat commute. They're just perfect for two-up weekend flings.
