Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.
Progressive 444 Series shocks bring advanced suspension technology to your Harley-Davidson, dynamically adjusting damping in real time. Patented Frequency Sensing Technology (FST) responds to both small road imperfections and larger hits for consistent comfort and control. Riders can fine-tune the feel with hand-adjustable preload.

Stiff
The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
