I'll never go back to stock
I bought these in 13" and put them on my '09 Street Bob probably about 10k miles ago. ....I should have done this from the start.<br />I have a sundowner seat. That seat and the shocks make for a very nice, comfortable ride. Yet firm enough to feel planted taking corners...faster than I should.<br /><br />I since sold the Street Bob and bought the Low Rider S and the 444's were transferred to the new ride. As long as I have a Dyna I will have the 444's.<br /><br />....if only they made it in 13.5" or 14".
throw away your factory shocks
Put a set of these on my '08 FXDB I weigh 205, no more bottoming out on potholes. No more mushy feeling when you <br />hit the gas. Far better ride and overall performance than the OEM shocks...<br /><br />The only reason I am keeping my old shocks is if ever I get another bike these will fit, they are coming with me....
Great shocks
install was pretty easy. Needed a vice to insert the provided bushings. Only issue was the stock bolt cover on my 2016 Street Bob would not fit back over the top of the new shock bolting location.
This product is a big improvement over stock shocks!!!
The riding comfort on my 2014 Super Glide has improved remarkably, as well as the handling. No more bottoming out over bumps and speed humps. My spine also thinks these Progresive shocks are great.<br /><br />Lee Forsythe
Major improvement in stability and Handling
I had never upgraded from stock before on my other bikes. These shocks are awesome. Right out of the shop I noticed the improved ride. Wife jumped on the back, I dampened the setting, and what a noticeable difference with my DWG in stability and handling.
Go with Standard
I want to echo what a couple people have said in here (I should have listened). I got the Heavy Duty because Progressive said it was for 250 lbs+. I weigh 190 and my girl weighs around 130. That should be around 320 lbs that we're packing together. However, with both of us on, the things barely budge if at all. Naturally, solo is even worse....total spine killer. So I'm swapping them for the standard. I'm guessing they'll take a load up to about 300 lbs. <br /><br />That being said, they were easy to install (I used a woodworking clamp to squeeze in the bushings that are not preinstalled on the shocks). They look great. Adjusting preload is pretty easy. Need to use a little elbow grease but they adjust easily enough. Overall, solid product.
444 Shocks
I love the look and appearance of them, a little pricy though. They are way better than stock though. It would have been nice to know you needed a vice to get the 2 inserts/bushings into each side of the shock. I didn't have a vice so I had to improvise with some big hand held wood working vices I had. I got it done it just took a lot longer than needed. Due to the weather I haven't gotten to ride much since putting them on to fine tune them yet so maybe the ride quality will get a better mark once I get to do that.
Excellent upgrade from stock.
These Progressive 444's made a big difference in handling on my 2009 FXDC. Also added Ricor Inertia active vales to the stock front fork. The combination helped turn the cruiser into a competent sports tourer.
Good but could be better.
Better than stock, but I wish it had more travel for better adjustability. Depending on the weight of you and your passenger it ends up being too hard or too soft, tough to find a good setting.
Installed the 12.5" heavy duty on my '15 Wide Glide. What a difference! I'm 260 and have 80 lbs of gear The shocks function as advertised and the ride has never been this smooth...and I only have them turned up to six. It hurt to put out the cash but it was worth every dollar!
Smooth ride
These are great shocks only downside is that now I feel that the front end shocks need to be better my wife loves them for potholes and bumps on a dyna
45,000 Happy Kilometers
I'm a big dude, 6'7" and over 300lb.<br /><br />I fitted these shocks to my 2014 Dyna and have been very happy with them.<br /><br />I went with 11.5" heavy duty and yes they are firm but rarely bottom out for me.<br /><br />My only gripe is that the bushes have surface rust on them which takes away from the appearance slightly.
Better ride
Installation was easy, I appear to have a pretty good range for adjustment, set sag took a few rides made adjustments and love them. Adjustment was a little difficult had to use a strap wrench. The set comes without a spanner wrench.
Noticeable difference in comfort and operation
Easy to install and easy to adjust. Noticeable difference in ride comfort and ease of operation over the stock shocks on a 2017 Dyna FXDL. 3 years and 30,000 miles of trouble free operation so far.
Great!
These made a big difference over stock. Happy with the purchase
Night & day
These shocks are great they make the ride so much better it like night and day
Installed 1.5"longer shocks on 08 FXDSE2 rides great haven't rubbed yet on mountain roads
these are an improvement over stock for sure. Haven't put a lot of miles on them yet. I'm hoping they will be as good as I've read once I get them dialed in.
5 Stars
I am well pleased with my choice to purchase these shock absorbers.
Wow wish I did this when I first bought the bike. Rides and handles fantastic !
Perfect much better then the stock shocks
ok
ok.........................................
Amazing shocks. They're like night & day compared to the Hurleys I had. Super soft ride & handling is greatly improved. Make sure you get the correct shock per weight displacement of you and passenger. Tech support cleared that up with me
SO FAR VERY PLEASED
Installed 13 inch heavy duties along with the front cartridge fork kit. Only had them on the bike for a couple weeks but the motorcycle is completely transformed. much better "in the road" feeling.
Big improvement over stock shocks. Installed on 2011 FXDC. Very happy with these shocks, they look better and perform better than stock.
After finding the right adjustment, my bike rides better than ever. I love these shocks
excellent
No more bottoming out and jarring on small bumps on the road around town.
Need to be adjusted the factory setting are to hard
'09 Dyna FXD.<br />These shocks are awesome. Installation was pretty easy. There are metal inserts that must be pressed into the rubber bushings of the shocks. It's difficult but made easier with an extra pair of hands and a table vice used to do the pressing. Patience, lubricant, persistance. <br />After the shock set up (take your time, and figure out your sag ) the shocks proved to ride like a dream. A universe away from stock... Much better than the air shocks from "baggers" i've ridden. They brethed new life into my Dyna. I spent a 2-up weekend with my awesome girlfriend and the bike was rock solid, never bottomed out, and handled like a racer in the twisties. Over all my bike now feels planted to the road. Tracks straighter and feels more stable. Pricey upgrade but worth every penny. <br />This should have been my first high-dollar upgrade even before "horse-power" improvements.
100% improvement to ride!
Great; easy fit up; handles well;<br />just what I needed to easily lower my FXDX by 1 1/2"
Shock are very good
I purchased these shocks for a 2012 FXDWG. I have had a wonderful experience with them so far. I had the 412 series on before these and will tell you right now that there is a huge difference. The bike is much more stable on bumps and riding around uneven pavement when cornering. Major improvement from the 412's when riding two up.
Very good great improvement to bik
Shocks are great, easy to install and work much better than stock. Look and fitment is perfect.
Product very neatly packaged. Perfect fit on my bike with easy installation; less than 20min. Changed the overall ride of my Dyna tremendously. I would recommend to anyone thinking of changing out there shocks to buy this product, you will not regret it one bit.
Great Shocks
