Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Standard and Heavy-Duty spring rates?

Both offer 0.8–1 in ride height adjustments via the 2:1 motion ratio. Heavy-Duty handles heavier loads or two-up riding; Standard suits solo or lighter applications.

Can I adjust preload while riding?

The R.A.P. knob allows hand adjustment of preload without tools, but we recommend adjusting before your ride for safety.

How do I set the rebound damping?

The 5-position rotatable adjuster lets you dial rebound from soft to stiff. Start in the middle and adjust based on how the bike handles bumps and dips.

What shock length should I order?

Longer lengths (13.1–13.5 in) raise ride height; shorter lengths (12.2–12.6 in) lower it. Consult the Progressive chart or your dealer for your weight and ride preference.

Are these hand-built and tested?

Yes — every shock is hand-built, tuned, and dyno-tested at the factory before shipment.

2019 FXBRS

Installed the 12.2 standard on my 19 Breakout 114.. got a 2” drop from factory before setting sag.. I’ve rode it 80 miles so far.. a little stiff but that’s expected.. I’ll set sag and tweak the rebound and see where she goes.. overall I’m very impressed with this shock for what it it.. we caint all afford air ride . Lol

Improved Ride Height

Installed the 13.5” heavy duty in my 2019 slim. It has given me about an inch of extra clearance. Now I have to be really be pushing it to scrape the floor boards.

Outstanding fit and finish. Fits like a glove and the owner was able to place her feet flat on the ground.
