Great shocks!
These shocks are great. Installation was a snap. Shocks offer 4 pre-load settings that easily adjusts by hand. I set mine mid way initially. Might need to soften them a bit. Need to keep testing to find that sweet spot.
These shocks are 13", but lowers the ride an inch and improves the handling tremendously over the stock air shocks.
The price is a little steep. Although, with the improvement of the ride and getting me a lower to the ground without a lowering kit its easy to justify the cost.
944's are good
Stock air suspension on my 2013 fltrx road glide were garbage. Bottomed out on every bump hard. It was time for something new that kept the stock lowered height of my bike. 944's fit the bill. I got the heavy duty spring rate I cause I'm a large guy. 350+. Ride is so much better now. Easy to install since I have a jack. Like that I can lighten or stiffen preload with a turn of shock cap. They fit great even with the rear quick release back rest or tour pack. I didn't have to mount upside down. Everything has clearance and nothing rubs.
great shocks
I just returned from an over 7,000 mile ride, these shockes felt great.
I put over 100,000 miles on my Road Glide with the stock air shocks, I wish I had got these sooner.
Shocks are worth every penny
I purchased the Progressive 944 Series FST Ultra Shock for my 2006 Road King Custom these shocks are worth every penny. I am six foot 4 inches and weigh in at a 280 with a bad back, my wife is 125 lbs.' We love to tour long distances, with the OME air shocks I was crippled after about 100 miles in the saddle I dreaded hitting a rail road crossing or the typical New England frost heave covered road way. The Progressive Shocks are what the doctor ordered; first the ride is fantastic night and day compared to OME shocks. they recover very quickly, they adjust to the road condition, they never seem to bottom out and the dreaded bagger wobble is gone. I would go with the Ultra you can change the settings by hand no tools needed, so say if your riding solo or on a long trip, when drop your gear you can adjust for the weight change to suit your ride. This past weekend we did a 200-mile day trip we were less fatigued and my back was good to go the bride was happy. I generally do not write reviews but was so impressed with the dramatic difference and quality of the ride with the Progressive 944 Series FST Ultra Shock felt I had to pass it along, I was so impressed I am going to change out the front fork suspension for Progressive.
This product has great features
Perfect fit, 1 hr install with basic tools, and big diference in the ride
Progressive 944 Shocks
Hey guys. Got my new 944s recently. Surprised at how fast they got to me. Told my wife I was going out to take my old shocks off and get the bike ready for the new ones. 45 minutes later I was coming out of the garage finished. Easy! made a world of difference in the ride. Handling is much smoother. My wife and I together are 450 pounds and these shocks take the load with problem. Thanx for your help!
great decision
took a shot with these and was way more than impressed, I was hoping for some improvement, the difference was shocking even the wife agreed, money well spent
Best FLHX shock Period!!!
I have installed these on both my 2020 street glide. They work !!! Easy to adjust and a real pleasure taking turns now instead of worrying it the stock crap will hold or not. Buy this shock you'll love them !!!
progressive 944 shocks
i purchased a 2010 ultra classic but i was on a dyna low rider so the ride is good on the new bike but a little too tall so i purchased the 944 standard 1 inch drop took out the air shocks and i was amazed 20 minutes in and out took it for a ride dropped the rear 1 inch and improved the ride dramatically well worth the money
way too harsh
put the lighter spring 944 shocks on my 14 ultra as I ride solo. The rebound on these suckers made the back wheel come off the ground... Stay away from these and spend your hard earned bucks on legend revo-a's. I learned this through my wallet and hope I can save others from making my mistake
2009 FLHTCU
Noticeable upgrade from stock shocks, great buy if you're a bigger rider or riding 2 up most of the time
Great Mod to any Touring Bike
i have a 2014 HD Ultra Classic Limited with 65000 miles. I've been toying around with the idea of buying these shocks for over a year. I finally pulled the trigger about a month ago. What a difference between these and my stock air shocks. Install was a breeze and took about 30 minutes. i already have a motorcycle jack so i didn't have to invest in any more equipment. To align the top holes in the install process, i just used a bottle jack on the back fender brace to lift it up about 1/2 in. Went in like a piece of cake. I'm a big guy and turned these almost all the way up. They handle previously bone-jarring sections of road with ease. i'd buy them in a heart beat. Thanks to the staff for the great video review.
these are the answer to Harley's garbage suspension
I'm 6 foot tall and 250, most of the ladies I let on my bike are less than 150 but with all three bags full on my SGS I was having a horrible time in corners and bottoming out on bumps. I upgraded the front shocks and lowered it one inch to accomidate for the 21inch front rim and got the heavy duty 13" rear shocks. they are a little stiff and my feet dont quite sit flat on the ground anymore when I'm riding empty and solo but when the bike is loaded down with a passenger and gear, thats when these shocks show their value. Corners are a dream, and bumps are barable. I recomend these to any bagger owner.
Easy install and work great.
Wish they were always visible because they look that good. Easily adjust to the level that I want depending on my load. Higly recommend
Progressive 944s knock it out of the park
Recently realized my Road King was as riding like crap and hitting bumps pretty hard. Figured it was time to replace the stock air shocks from Harley. Putting them on took about 30 min. The ride quality that I have now compared to the stock shocks is night and day. Progressive gains d another loyal customer.
SATISFIED CUSTOMER
HAD TO DECIDE BETWEEN PROGRESSIVE, LEGEND AND OHLINS, AND I HAVE TO SAY I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR MY 2015 HD STREET GLIDE SPECIAL WITH PROGRESSIVE. IM 5'6 185LBS AND NEEDED A SET OF SHOCKS THAT WOULD NOT ONLY KEEP ME LOWER BUT ALSO BE COMFORTABLE. DEFINETLY A BIG UPGRAGDE FROM STOCK, AND WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THEM IS THE ADJUSTABLE SETTING FROM SOFT TO FIRM. IM CURRENTLY AT SETTING #3 FROM THE 9 SETTINGS THAT ARE AVAILABLE AND ITS GIVING ME A COMFORTABLE RIDE AND GREAT HANDLING.
Worse than stock
I bought the heavy duty version for my 2022 Road Glide Limited. I am 300lbs always ride with tour pack. Set up as recommended, bottom out. Set to where I don't bottom out rides worse than stock. Should have gone the the L brand or O brand. Expensive lesson.
So Worth the Cost!
I bought these shocks just before my 2020 Sturgis Rally trip. They are awesome and there is a noticeable difference from my previous shocks (drag...), especially when riding 2-up. We rode over 1100 miles during the rally and these shocks performed extremely well on all types of roads. The deep dips and high bumps were really an afterthought with these bad boys. It took me three years to finally come off the cash for these, but I'm glad I did (...and so is my wife.). If you are seriously considering the Progressive 944, do yourself a favor and buy today! You get what you pay for!!!
944 Ultras
Installed these on my wife's Road Glide. It is a very good quality shock, was easy to install and easy to adjust the preload. My wife rides solo with no tour pack so with this particular application works perfect for her. If you are a bigger person and have a passenger and tour pack you might want to go with the next shock up designed for more weight. But Progressive makes a great product, would buy these again!
Super easy to install
Super easy to install, bike handles better and the ride is much more enjoyable now. Worth the money.
Awesome
I put these on my ultra limited, what a great set of shocks night and day on the road fantastic would recommend to everyone
so far i i have put about 800 miles on them and like them a lot better than the factory air ride i have them on a ultra limited ride is better as well as handles better in the twisties
LOVE THESE SHOCKS, I'M 5'4' AND I BOUGHT A LOW PROFILE SEAT BUT STILL DIDN'T GET WHERE I NEEDED TO BE BUT AFTER THE 944 LOWS WERE INSTALLED I'M FLAT FOOT AND LOVE THE RIDE. LITTLE TO NOW CHANGE IN THE QUILITY OF THE RIDE.
Ordered these for my 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special in the heavy duty configuration because I ride with a passenger most of the time. These are so much better and a smoother ride than the OEM shocks. Well worth the money.
Been on about a year. Really improved ride quality. Easy installation.
Best shocks
Researched best shocks for a Harley Davidson touring bike and the 944s were first on the list and so far they are proving to be just that. Thanks for the fast delivery and customer service.
Why HD?
Why does Harley have stock shocks that don't even compare to these? 944's should come standard on touring models. If you can swallow it and get over what these shocks cost they are far superior to you stock shocks. Ride height was lowered maybe 1/2" max. Every bit helps. Feet or even flatter on the deck now. Ride is night and day different.
Nice look, stiff ride
The lower shocks make the bike look good, but have not found the right adjustment a smooth ride. Very stiff
Rides a lot better, I used to have air shocks. Bike does not bottom out anymore.
Changed the whole ride and handling of my bike , would definitely recommend.
Very pleased with my purchase.
Progressive shocks
Perfect for getting rid of the “air” suspension. Adjustable by hand makes it an easy to dial in.
Installed as the instruction.
Smoother rides ahead. Satisfied.
Did the trick. Easy install and are as advertised. Ride is so much better than the stock shocks.
Awesome shocks, the ride is incredible. These are the second set I have owned on two different bikes.
Fantastic shocks and well worth the money. They were easy to install and adjust. The ride is so much better then the stock shocks. coming out of corners is amazing. If you haven't upgraded from stock, you should try these.
put my feet flat on the ground
Amazing, i had hoped to have a better grip on the pavment with these, i was shocked, i had my feet flat with a slight bend in my knee , and the ride is better than before
Incredible
These are the best shocks I've ever had the incredible everybody must have them
Buyer beware
These are junk. I've tried adjusting every which way and bike rides HORRIBLE. Tried contacting progressive for help they won't talk to me.
Great upgrade for the 1999 Ultra Classic, with the original factory air shock suspension. Only takes about one hour to install. Adjusted the firmness in the middle to the fifth mark, it rides very nice for two up. I weigh 190 lbs and passenger is 125 lbs. I highly recommend the progressive mono tube front shocks also.
Glad I bought them. Absolutely love the ride.
Really didn't know what I wanted, talked to customer service, gave them my specs and received these. Made a huge difference in my bike.
Easy install & a nice smooth ride
Works unbelievable two up
riding has become a joy with less work handling road and more time enjoying the road.
Should’ve have done it sooner.
Installed these on my 2010 Street Glide. .Night and day difference between these and the factory shocks. Firm yet very comfortable, and makes for a really nice ride
Awesome fit and great ride! The wife likes to ride more now that its smoother!
Awesome suspension settup
I changed out the oem air shocks on my 2015 Road Glide Special for Progressive 944 in the rear and the Progressive Mono Tubes in the front. This is literally the best investment I could've made after doing a Stage 2 on my bike. The difference in handling is night and day! Guts ride ahead of me, and I literally watch the rear of their bike dance (or wobble) while going through a corner, or they hit a pothole and nearly lose control. I go through these corners with EASE, and potholes....? What potholes. Just totally awesome handling! Not to mention if you dial the front in to your specific weight, and play around with the rear......You will be in love! I firmly believe that the suspension is the very next upgrade you do after you install the exaust, or whatever stage you're doing! Anyone who says "I don't need a suspension", know absolutely nothing about suspensions, and what they're SUPPOSED to feel like! When you KNOW better, you DO BETTER!!!

PROGRESSIVE BABE!!!
#CatchMeOnAhighwayNearYou
Take those Harley shocks OFF. You will get a great ride with these ,
Paired them with the monotube lowering kit 👌 feels like your hovering over the roads. Money well spent.
I first ordered the super duty and had to exchange them for the heavy duty which are working great. Thanks to J& P for working with me.
A great CO. and great products !!!!!!
Great product, easy install, much improved ride.
Progressive shicks
Easy to install, look good and most importantly, greatly improved the ride over stock shiocks
Easy to install. It did lower the bike a little over an inch. Now my feet reach the road comfortably. BUT, the ride is extremely hard. I tried adjusting the preload, but no matter where it was, I would be jolted by most bumps in the road. I am ready to put the stock ones back on. My back hurts after every significant ride.
Simple install
Easy install, easy adjustments
Great shocks
Great shock for us shorter riders or someone looking for the slammed look.

Decent ride also
Great upgrade from stock shocks
I've had the progressive shocks on for 10 months and rode to NC with my lady friend- 1,800 mile round trip. Very happy with shocks, only gripe I have and it's more of an inconvenience is you have to take the bags off to adjust the shocks.
Comfortable and well made shocks
Great shocks very comfortable well made
solid ride
great shocks...............................
Ultra Low
D'ont like them gave a nice ride to lower 1 inch. Not worth it!
NOW HAVE THESE ON BOTH OF MY MOTORCYCLES
GREAT PRODUCT BEEN USING THIS BRAND FOR YEARS NOW AND THE WIFE LOVES THE RIDE AS WELL WHICH MEANS MORE ROAD TRIPS
Progressive all Around
I have these on my 18 Roadglide Special w/monos lowered 2" in the front. Looks Great and rides quick & tight around town. The problem is that on the highway if you hit any washboards it's like running over a 50' section of mini train tracks. I adjusted the rears a full turn softer, I had it set for 2up, I think 3 turns w/1" sag & she's 115, so I figured it was fine to run it since I figured it would make it nice in the corners etc, and fine when she's on. However, riding 90-100, then hitting a small dip or divot in the freeway makes it a little squirrely, didn't before, so I'm currently in the middle of taking the springs out of the tubes and seeing if I can bring it up one inch to see what that does. I was reading and I don't think I can go back to stock with this 1-2" inch drop kit, I'd have to buy a whole different set of cartridges for stock height? I'm running the progressive 20 weight. Heavy duty fork oil, but don't think that should make a difference. With it lowered 2" it hits really hard when I go from the street into the parking lot of my work that has like a 1 to 2 inch lip on the parking lot side like you're going up a small step, but it hits and feels like you're hitting the spoke rim in the front, not the rubber tire, which is a 21? I think the shocks are just really stiff when they're that low, so it's time to lift it a little in the front and experiment in the back, but overall, I do like the shocks and I'm not at all bagging on them.... Olins or Legends, Sure, how about Wilbur's? That would be great, but I've got a lot of money into this bike with a brand new 117 S&S 475C etc, so putting 3 grand or 3500 worth of suspension on it just isn't in the picture right now. I wanted to do a normal man's budget, to be able to tell my riding buddies it's something they could do on their 20, 22, and 24 baggers.....
Any input is appreciated. 5'6" 185 (but working on it) :)
Kevin B.
Electra Glide 944s
Easy install, direct replacement. Just completed a 540 mile ride and like how they feel. Still working to get the preload set to my liking.
Progressive 944 Ultra heavy duty
The progressive 944 Ultra Touring shocks are a big improvement over the factory air shocks (2016 Limited). You don't have to worry about air pressure leaking down since these are not air shocks. They seem to rebound pretty hard on some big bumps which can launch you off the seat. I ordered the heavy duty version as recommended, I'm approximately 220 pounds and ride solo most of the time. So far it seems setting them on 5 for preload is working. I started with the setting procedure they recommended and adjusted up from there to minimize bottoming out. They are an improvement over stock, but for the price I can't hesitate to recommend them.
944 shocks are great
i have a 2012 Road Glide Ultra that the wife and i have ridden on many long distance rides.I thought that the stock air shocks were good till we hit some bad spots in the roads on the way to Key West..After installing the 944's i cant express how improved the ride is.I should have known that progressive would come thru.I installed progressives on my 91 softail years ago and have been highly satisfied
Shipping excellent.
Shocks rode like a tank. I ordered by the weight chart. I am 250+ and with my wife and gear on the bike would be 500lbs. Horrible ride.
Great improvement over stock
seems like the cure for h d poor choice on rear suspension for new england roads
fit well but due to weather have not tried them out yet
Awesome shocks
Great shocks, been 2 yrs. Love them over factory air shocks.I ride hard with a punched out 103.
Best suspension upgrade ever made to my 2016 Road Glide Ultra. Now the ride is much more smoother compared to my stock suspension.
Both products are an amazing ride improvement! I should have done the upgrade much sooner. The help I received from the JP staff was just as good!
I just put them on but haven't had a chance to ride them yet because of the snow
Fast shipping. Love these shocks so far, adjusts easy without a spanner wrench
Huge difference on my 2013 Ultra over the stock shocks
The product is really good and it goes well with the bike
Shocks are way better than factory.
I had him for about a week so far give me a good ride
Thank you for the quick and friendly response.
Good ride
Easy installation
A huge improvement over the stock FLHX shocks.
Significant improvement over the stock air shocks.
I’m 5’9” @240 lbs.. progressive 944 HD’s makes my 2012 Street Glide like a new bike.. I Have my shocks set at minimum pre-load= no visible groove’s, my wife and all our gear = 210 ish rides real nice at #6 groove.. we really enjoy the longer rides now. Money well spent.
very nice ride and shock
The progressive shocks are amazing. The ride is much better then the stock shocks. Also the quick delivery Time was great
2012 Road King with stock air shocks. I was actually going to sell the bike because of the poor handling. Just got back from a 600 mile round trip to NH from NY. No issues. Love how the bike rides/handles
Product as advertised, high quality, good price, next day delivery.👍
So far one short ride but already can see an improvement.
So far have around a 100 miles on the shocks love them so far!!!!! Like I have a new bike all over again!
The shocks were Money well spent you can’t put a price on comfort.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Very pleased with the fit and performance of these shocks
A must have on any new 2020 FLHX !!! So much better then the HD OEM adjustable stock shocks. Got to get the front Progressive gas charged struts now to complete the package
So far the shocks seam really nice. They do sit a little lower than stock, maybe 3/4" - 1". Rides pretty good and easy to adjust. We set them and rode about 300 miles and will check them again at about 500 miles.
I own a 2016 Ultra Limited Low with stock rear suspension. I bolted these on before my wife and I took a trip from So Cal into Nevada and Arizona. We rode approximately 1,000 miles. These 944’s were a lot better than stock. I still feel the really hard bumps in the road but they don’t rattle the whole swing arm.
shocks
Shocks look nice easy to install and easy to adjust add to sit preload took minutes.Write your review here. It must be at least 25 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.
Well worth every penny. Glad I listen to the reviews. Love them!!
Shocks came with absolutely no instructions.
Great shocks I had them on my last bike and now on my current bike ... increased the riding experience and made my wife happy...
good shocks better then air shocks
These shocks are awesome, replaced the old air shocks for a recent trip and the ride was great. Will be doing the front end next to match the rear. Highly recommend. RMHF
(Ride moortorcycles have fun)
Great product
So far our rides have been comfortable and smooth. Now we need front shocks. Summer is coming and riding weather.... much needed purchase, made all the difference.
I have a 2013 ultra classic. The 13" dropped my bike 1". I also put the fork lowering kit 1" as well. The ride far exceeds the factory suspension. I also got the tall boy harley seat which is 1.5 ish lower than stock seat. I am 180# and often ride two up with my wife 130#. I am 5'7' with 30 in inseam. With my Harley boots on I can flat foot it on both sides. My confidence level on this big bike shot up big time. Spend the money and do it.

Love the ride of the Heavy Duty shocks, worth the extra money
Very pleased with the results of the shocks. Better ride better stance and feet reach the ground better
The Progressive 944 Ultra Low (std) are awesome! I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews that said their ride was now too stiff, but after talking to the Progressive rep, and learning that the weight is a minimum number, not what they adjust up to, I went with the standards and it did both things I was looking for; it lowered my bike an inch and improved the ride.
Well worth the change over from air shocks. Waiting on weather to cooperate so as to test them out. Friends say it's the best change to make.
5-Star
100% improvement
These are superior to the Harley Screaming Eagle performance shocks they replaced and the price was even better
Very easy to install, lowered the bike to a very impressive height. One ride and so far no complaints about the handling.
Replaced Ultra Classic OEM air shocks with these Progressive shocks. I started with them adjusted halfway. With each ride I needed to adjust them to keep them from bottoming out. I have gradually adjusted them all the way up for full tension on the coil spring. I weight 210 and my wife weights 130 so we are not big people. If I had not knocked over the original shocks and lost the oil in them I would put them back on. I am not pleased with these shocks.
I put them on a 2016 Road Glide Ultra. i wanted to lower the bike and improve the ride. They did both for me. The ride is stiffer, but that works for me.
Shocks went on easy, but have not had a chance to ride the bike as the weather in Maine is cold and wet
Been riding on these for a little over a month now. Fantastic! It doesn't take much to beat a pair of stock HD air shocks but these are also head and shoulders above the new improved shocks on the "Special" Street and Road Glides. Smooth ride cruising on the highway even if it's not a great road. But getting into turns is where you'll really see the difference. Handles like a sport suspension, firm, solid and responsive. I have the front kit from progressive as well. Definitely recommend replacing them as a set.
WOW, what a difference. Put these on my 2012 FLHX. Harley knows the stock are shocks are useless, that's why they are putting better shocks on the "Special" models now. But instead of going with and American company like Progressive they are buying the shocks from Honda's sub-company. Unbelievable.
But back to the 944s. I only wish I had put them on my bike 3 years ago. I also did the Progressive front suspension. Very comfortable cruising and handles in turns like a sport bike.
I now have these shocks, the Touring Link, and monotube gas cartridges on my '06 FLHX. What a difference! It's still a bagger but it handles and rides so much better, I wonder why it didn't come stock with a setup like this. My only fault was the same one I had with the cartridges:
Very easy to install....rides great, very easy no tools adjustments . Harley should use this an option instead of the air shocks
Recommend this shock for 2 up touring. Much better ride then the stock HD air shocks
Very good shocks for two people. A little on the stiff side for a single rider
Shipping was fast, install was a breeze. Handle's so much better
Installation was easy...much improvement over the stock air shocks. I noticed better handling in the corners...I will be doing the front end next :)
My second set, I wondered about stepping down a level but the first set worked so well that I did not want to risk settling for less.
These shocks are awesome. For those who are looking for a better ride than those stock air shocks at a lower stance then look no further. When I bought these I didn't find to many reviews on them to compare so here is my setup. 2014 ultra classic with the 944 ultra low standard spring.Have the spring set at mid way with 2 up and no bottoming out with a weight of about 300 lbs for the both of us. At this time I am one inch lower in the front from stock. My inseam is about 30 and can plant feet firmly on the ground. Makes backing this heavy sucker way easier. Hope this info helps.
Very easy to install. Looking forward to a better ride.
delivery was very fast, and they fit my bike just the way they said they would, lowered the bike 1 inch like they said it would just love it.
Improvement over the stock air shocks, but still harsh on sharp edge bumps. Tried increasing preload, but not much difference. Could just be the travel and geometry limitations of the bike design itself.
Run, don't walk, and replace those stock Harley air schlocks with these babies. No more slam-ban-in-the-can ride. Instead, a nice smooth ride that the bike should deliver from the factory. How Harley gets away with cr@p suspension on a 22K bike is hard to fathom, but at least Progressive has an answer.
As advertised
shocks arrived quick and were easy to install
